I made this today in photoshop and I must say I'm really happy with the way it turned out. It's a modified version of a classic Swedish picture, so what do you think? Here's the original: |

The tiger picture was used during the second world war to raise moral if Sweden would be forced to join the war. The words actually say two things, the intended and most obvious interpretation is "A Swedish tiger", but they could also mean "A Swede says nothing" which kind of points out the prejudice about how shy the average Swede is. Does it have anything to do with what business the company is in?

Wow, it's been quite a long time since my last post here... Anyhow, some of you might remember me, others might not. A while ago I was working on a hack titled "Beyond Nothing", my first intention was to release a demo after I had finished world 2. However, when my parents got divorced I moved in with my dad and so got very limited access to my PC that was left at my mom's place and as me and my dad are both Macintosh users, the time I had to work on my hack drastically decreased. Then a few days ago I decided that it would be best to release a demo with just the first world that I've already finished. So I started finishing up what I had left before a one world demo release would be possible. One of the things left to do is my custom Mario GFX, but while working on them I soon ran into a problem: there are some small bits and pieces of him that I just can't find in the GFX files. Does anybody know where I might find these pieces?: Mario's fingertips, I'm a sucker for details and orange fingertips is something just couldn't live with. Fingertips and feet, not much of a problem some of you might think as it already looks fine without any editing but as I said, I just care too much about the details. N |

Thanks! I'll look into that the next time I've got access to my PC, should be this sunday or something. Keep an eye out for the demo, in the meantime you can enjoy the trailer Big (5.7 MB) Medium (4.6 MB) Small (2.9 MB) |

It's mostly the earlier levels that use default graphics with some editing touches. Nowadays I make almost all GFX myself, to keep the same feel throughout the hack I'm often mixing it with some default GFX though. EDIT: JJ, when I've finished my hack or possibly when I've finished the demo, I'll release my new Mario design for public use. I just wanna be first you know . I found this in among some old notes, I think it's a rom adress that controls the jumping height: 59A6 - 03 - jumping byte, lower number, higher he jumps |

I didn't find that adress and I'm not taking any credit for it, I think someone made a thread on it at the old board a looong time ago. As far as I know, the method used for finding these offsets is to corrupt a part of the rom using a rom corruptor and looking at the effects. You can then narrow the corrupted area down until you've found the offset you're looking for. (edited by Simon on 03-02-05 04:31 PM) |

I used a Macintosh application by Ambrosia called Snapz Pro X. There's bound to be something similar for PC somewhere.

First 2 bytes are for normal speed, next two are for mad speed (FuSoYa) 2025 - 62 - gives you 99 lives - change byte to change lives. Not sure what this was for, I guess it's the amount of lives Mario starts with or something, no idea who found it. 6F5A0, this is where the enemy names that are displayed after you finish the game begin, I guess this won't be necessary anymore though as smallhacker made a program for editing the names. Again no idea who found it. Well, that's about it. Havregrynsgr |

Me and some friends are working on a movie and for editing we are using Adobe Premiere Pro and we're filming all our material in 16:9 format. But recently we've encountered a strange problem while importing the clips from the camera, while most of it looks fine, some of the clips are getting black borders to the left and right, this border gets even thicker if the project is set to PAL rather than NSTC. The only difference I can find between the clips is in the description in the "project" window where it says "movie 720 x 576 (1.4)" for the working clips and "movie 720 x 576 (1.1)" for the non-working. But I haven't been able to find any settings for changing this. Does anybody know how to solve this problem?

I think someone actually did that a while ago in an attempt to recreate the OW warp levels from SMB3, it might have been on the old board. I'll look it up in a minute. EDIT: Aha! Check this out. Hmmm, this is also the thread where BMF's idea for Palasm was born (edited by Simon on 03-29-05 03:58 AM) |

I started drawing this last night and I'm quite satisfied with what I've got so far, especially the face. I'm not that experienced in drawing hair but I think it came out alright. Anyway, It's kind of an attempt at capturing the beauty of the female body, it's a bit manga influenced in some areas. I've almost finished it but there's one tiny problem, I just can't get the left hand right. Got any tips or suggestions? |
