I am going to use the blocktool's gfx change block, where when you step on it/pass through (depending on the acts like box) will give you a certain item and change into the next block in the map16 page. Then at the right of the mushroom house will have the door. I'm not going to use the mushroom door though...

The only things I won't be able to do is the doomship intro, the bosses, the n-card, and the slide card bonus. I am trying to do the overworld now.......

I am going to make 2 versions, one with the NES gfx (using better colors) and one with the SNES gfx.

I have some more hand-drawn GFX done, but I need some ideas. I only have a single ledge type...

Futuristic? Slimy? Anything would help...

How about releasing some screenshots? That seems like an easy solution to your problem. I'd like to see this myself. I could probably learn from your sprite shading and such...

I need a couple of ideas for BG's as well. So far, I have a couple from Super Mario RPG and a couple from Super Metroid.

One level Mario is on top of Crateria, and Samus's Ship is very hard to get into ExGFX.

In SMA4, that plant does not shoot fire, its just a regular old pirahna plant. But in the SMAS and the classic SMB3 versions that one is a venus fire trap.

He did make that level from scratch, the colored blocks are in slightly different places than the Demo World's and although that does not mean that he did not copy it from DW, I still do not believe he did.

I have about 27 levels copied from the old SMB3. 5-3 will be hard though...

Why not though? It just makes things that much easier to code. Its just another thing that will make people want to download the editor! And with editing it with hex you have to still find all of the bytes and fumble around with a cumbersome hex editor.

And some more stuff to add to the Misc Editor...

Changes what objects turn into what when you step on the P-Switch
Mario's Jump height
fireball damage
invincibility value
how long mario blinks when hit
is there a byte that stores how fast the goal cards change pictures?
note block jump height

Maybe a Mushroom House editor can be added as well as a N-Card editor.

I know its a lot to ask for but these are just suggestions.

It might be doable, but it would require a lot of work. Probably FuSoYa's help would be needed because I don't think hukka knows ASM for SNES....
Even then, you'd have to code all that in the editor and make something to expand the ROM with...

This also happens if you wait long enough in the title screen. It isnt much of a discovery, since it has probably been discovered by many others.

How is this editor coming? Judging by how often he has updated this thing, I figure he has something big for us! I know he said he will be gone a while back rewriting and cleaning up the code, but how is this thing coming?

If you need a beta tester, e-mail me at k.packey1@my.collinscollege.edu

Thanks hukka and DD!

It got aggervating, but I finished my game perfectly the way I wanted it not what everyone else want. I worked TOO DAMN HARD on this hack for it to be criticised just by my stupid screenshots. So have fun criticizing. You have to take it less personally...</rant>

I know exactly what you mean. My hack was just like yours but worse because I just wanted to release it. Nobody even remembers my hack. I took it hard, and then I joined another board. This is a great board that cares about the individual and tries to help and work with them as opposed to criticism and put-downs. If you want the address for this board, PM me and we will welcome you.

The rain looks good WHEN YOU PLAY THE HACK. I don't know how to make a screenshot of rain look nice for everyone. Well... most of us don't see THAT MUCH rain usually. :-\

What I suggest for this is make an animated .GIF for each frame of the animation to show the skeptics exactly what you wanted to show them in that screenshot, because unfortunately, they judge by what they see, not how the hack plays.

Also, here is what I suggest with the treasure blocks:
Keep the original question blocks, but also keep the treasure boxes. Put them on the floor or underneath something so that they cannot be hit from underneath, and also because it looks better when sitting on something. That way they can be hit from the side from Luigi's cape or by an enemy.

I hope this helps you!

I understand SMA4 support is out of the question? I think someone already made an editor for it, but it only edited the maps... but this is just my guess. Thanks hukka for putting so much time in this project!

Alright, I do not care how you make wario act, but it would be interesting to see how someone from the mushroom kindom would react in this situation.

As KP9000 jumps wildly in the air, training for his next encounter, he suddenly stops and sniffs the air.

"Something smells."

KP9000 gets off his knee and turns around, giving a sigh of annoyance.

"Figures..."

As a counterattack, KP9000 shielded himself in a purplish/blackish aura that damages anything that touches it.

(off- I do not know how strong these clones are, you can just let me know if they do damage to me.)

*pulls out glasses and puts them on*

KP9000 opens his hand to generate a black ball in his palm and all of his surroundings started getting sucked into it, in quick order from small to large.

KP9000: "You do understand why black holes are black don't you? Gravity is so great that light cannot even escape. What makes you think a bomb can, or even you for that matter?"

He holds out his hands even further and propels the gravity-laden ball of death towards the bomb. It explodes in a brief flash of light, but gets no bigger than the size of a basketball. It is then instantaneously sucked into the black hole. KP9000 then clenches his fist and causes the black hole to go into a deadly premature supernova. When the dust clears, KP9000 is gone.

KP9000 charged for an attack by levitating 50 feet into the air, while a dark circle with a 25 foot radius formed around him.

KP9000 was no longer visible; The Dark Sun hid him in its dark energy.

KP9000: Fool. Staring at me when you should be looking behind you.

The energy field around KP9000 became solid, while another energy field with a mile radius becomes visible and solid. They both begin to close in on each other, taking everything between it and crushing it... including the air and the rock.

Yes, I agree. Questions have been arising about people who are both members of Acmlm and TEK and whether they should vote twice: once for each board.

My guess is that you should only vote once because he is taking votes for each person, not each entry. So, if you vote a second time, votes are null.

Also, here is some information on my Metroid hack...

Just to let everyone know, Metroid Mutation is a Graphics hack that I did a while back that got lost on my HD. If anyone has it, let me know. The link to my website has one that is outdated, but there are some old pictures on it.

Metroid Mutation (Graphics Hack)

Metroid Galactic Mutation is a hack that I am working on with Tony that should be under Most Promising Hack for 2005.

Just thought I'd clear that up.

As I have said at TEK, Congratulations to all of the winners! Also, congrats to all of those who were nominated! I'm sure i probably would have gotten more results if I had given more information on my hacks, as well some of the screenshots.... but meh, im not worried too much. these guys worked harder than I did and they deserve it. Great work everybody!

Also, a special thanks goes out to CF for organizing all of this!
