| Most of the time the only two things I'll use are Videomach II (it's up to 3 now) and Animation Shop Pro 3.04. That's how you can get something from ZSNES to GIF like that pretty much. 10 minutes tops most times. (edited by Yomiko on 03-26-05 06:14 PM) |

| Well, already they're having trouble. Looking at Wario Land 3 they have an unresolved player issue right now. I went to that site for their ripping tools this morning and I actually ripped something with it. Sonic Advance 2. I'd send in what I have but I dunno if they'd take it (even though I did what they asked, though I don't know all the songs so I can't possibly tag them). |

| ...And the only place I find it is on the shitty FilePlanet. I doubt I've got the want to wait -at least- 65 minutes for an 83 megs WMV file to start moving. I'll have to search for it later on somewhere else when I've got the time, but at least I know that it does in fact exist. |

| Uhm...welcome to the real world? Don't tell me you're this naive. It doesn't exist just on messageboards. Get out sometime. You'll notice that the Internet isn't the only place where such arguments are borne. If you think it's any less rational on the net than it is in real life...they're both dumb. I don't think there's really a weights and measures thing about it. But, people will argue. Especially those that have to deal with each other constantly. You know why that 'go somewhere else if you don't like it' thing has a low success rate of someone actually listening to it? I was talking to someone the other day, and this is one of a few people who've thought this, that was constantly putting trouble back without leaving here because if he left then he automatically assumed that they won. Basically, it's a matter of shameless pride. People are going to argue back when their intellect, no matter what size, is insulted. That's going to be on the comp, in the streets, on the phone, in the tub, whatever. Unless you're one of these spineless people that just let things roll off your back and eventually get to a point where you've bottled up your anger for too long and eventually snap and do something even worse than a silly argument then it will always happen. So that said...no one ever really takes these things seriously anyways. Most times I figure if people are just in an uproar about something anyways, they're pretty much in a stressed mood, everyone's bitching anyways, so they just decide to let off steam and build on to a flame war. Whoopie. People have to let anger out in some fashion. Might as well do it through a medium where it's 'comical'. I'm a usually addition to this play that goes on. Speaking of that, it's not like we're all role-playing already. Name one staffer that is any better than another person because they're on staff and the same can be said for any normal user over another person or even banned members over another depending on how they were banned or what they were banned for just for the sheer fact that they might not know how to present themselves on net. I doubt you'll come up with any 'this person is' answers that aren't subjective. So we're roleplaying...we have the drama...so that said who gives a shit anyways? Apparently quite a few people, ironically enough. You know, people used to bitch about SB and SF forums all the time but...this whole board is just that. Like many other forums on net. An SB and SF forum, just in a less glorious scale. Most, if not all, forums are that aren't dedicated to just posting unopinionated information. So people are going to act however they feel and the staffers will play their roles out in the way they were assigned by the script, aka FAQ and whatever else for interpretation, and lo and behold we have a board conflict at points. People hate people, families against families, brother pitted against brother, babies...having babies. And I won't go into the SB email after Virus. That's about all there is to it. More serious conversations for me tend to go on AIM really. The only time I make any serious posts are these long and drawn out ones that are usually for better topics than this. If you really hate them then your best answer is a simple one: ignore it. Even though you seem to want to stay out of things you're still adding on by acknowleding this now and stirring up shit, even minor amounts by rememberance. Globally, I doubt any person is going to change everyone's mind because people have their own thoughts and their own set of rules and quite frankly don't even have to give two shits about the next person's ideals thanks to that...so threads like these are pretty much pointless and the end of the first post has an amount of drama in it as it is so it's pretty much a hypocritical statement as it is an argument or at least fuel for one as it is. Simply put, 'getting along' period is a lot harder than what you're trying to make out, I'm afraid. :\ |

Well, going back to what Colleen said, the majority of the people on here that have mouths on them are probably going to be weak and feeble when it comes to conversations in real life at least in terms of those conversations, I don't really know about physical strength and whatever, so I couldn't guess whether or not a person could actually hold their own by the words they talk or if they're just talking shit to look all high and mighty. Personally, I usually think the latter is more true...especially in the case of a nerd ROM Hack board. |
And trust me, I can't say I'm not irritated with it either. I'm one of the few people that actually has to do something about it and you know sometimes the staff on here just does not want to go through with steps to ban or punish someone because it overall feels wrong. You wouldn't believe how many times I've seen something that could just take a second to end get strewn out for several months over drama and the feelings of others on staff and not on staff over just a single person. Trust me, when it comes to that, I get tired of it too. May make me look like an ass at points, but it's better to just end the shit with someone getting their ass, at most, permabanned than see some annoying shit play out for months and months and months. Lot better on people involved really, even if a few people get the perma-shaft. But, then again, you can't expect people to conform. Especially on a forum even this size. There are almost a couple thousand users now. I doubt very seriously you're going to make a small town-sized board conform...so that's where we come in, the mods that is. Sometimes, it's not a great job, but you know we get to be the ones that take care of the fun stuff so the normal members don't have to put up with this shit...or at least TOO MUCH of it. :\ But, that doesn't necessarily mean that we're going to go all dictator either when something's going down and someone sneezed incorrectly and started a little scuffle over it. They'll get warned if they keep it up and then if they continue then their ass is in the slammer for a noted amount of time. That said, it's really hard to designate one person over the other in terms of banning when we're already doing that already by having a staff even though it is an utmost necessity. I think that's why some of the minor stuff like this gets dragged out because no one wants to do anything about it because, on the majority, it's small and most of the stuff, in terms of a few people mentioned, is over with now and they can go to other place like IRC and bitch all they want and such...but hey...if something goes all wrong, you can be assured the staff'll do something about it, if not right away then eventually. The tone you're taking is making this whole sex ed thing look like a first grader that spelled out the word gun and that we're doomed by all thanks to it. Considering the fact that people would be going into their teenage years right around that time and considering the responsibility that goes with that, it'd be quite logical to at least give them an idea of WHAT they're doing so that they know what to do and what not to do. If you've forgotten that VITAL detail then you really have no clue what you're speaking of. Why do you think they always have those don't smoke or don't do drugs commercials anyways? Information. Having sex ed, even for little kids, is like that because it's also the same deal here. You're not really giving them an opening for bad bad things that will oh so happen thanks to that, you're giving them the opportunity to see what they'll do about it with what they're given. Eventually, they're going to find out anyways and I rather have some trusted school or myself do that then someone else that might not be so trustworthy. If nothing else, it's not like they're teaching them position form 296 from the goddamn Kama Sutra. Now if someone were to do that for GBS instead, that'd be one thing...have something like GBSE or something like NSF went to NSFE...but the thing is I don't see that happening and I asked people here about it a while ago if anyone was doing dev and I pretty much get a sea full of dumbfounded faces. At least THIS WAY people are getting something for now.
