But do all boards do that? A lot of board systems probably use a 32-bit type to save space...those will all have to be converted to the 128-bit size that IPv6 uses.

The ONO event. Basically, it was something that happened during the "lost time", around New Year's 2004, and it eventually became the biggest spree in Acmlmboard history. I think it started with a thread by Xkeeper, who used a small icon that said "ono" as the thread icon of a thread in...um...a forum that shall remain nameless. Soon after, Yoshi Dude posted a thread with a screenshot of her desktop with a few windows open (I'm thinking an AIM window was one of them...), and a lot of "ONO" icons everywhere. Eventually, there were zillions of threads in That Other Forum about it...we were posting all kinds of "ONO" images in them, getting bigger and bigger. We called ourselves Clan ONO (or was it ONO Clan?). There were two anti-clans: Anti-ONO and Stop ONO, who posted several images of their own in aforementioned threads. I believe there was also an OYES. Sadly, all this has been lost...I got something like 500-600 posts out of the resultant spree, and some others got even more... Interestingly, before the event, I never said "ONO" anywhere...now I say it all the time in AIM and IRC. |

It's weird thinking about how the Internet will look in the future...I always wonder if message boards will always be populated mostly by people in their teens and twenties, or if people will be living into their 60's and 70's still posting on boards. I have an incurable addiction to this place, and I have no life outside the Internet, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if I was still here in 2020... |

Originally posted by Kirby ATW I thought I'd never get 5000 posts, or 1000, or even 100...when I registered, I wondered how so many people had such outrageously high post counts...seriously, I thought that after a while, each post counted as more than one toward the count. |

There will be other huge sprees...the thing is, it's impossible to predict when they will happen. I still remember when I was one of about six people actively posting in that forum, at the very beginning of what would become the spree...

It wouldn't be as weird as if people eventually lived a theoretically infinite amount of time...although to do that, we'd probably have to transplant our consciousness into a robot or something... I think it would be cool to live a really long time though... |

Are there any active members of Acmlm's that don't yet know about this forum? It seems like everyone posts here now, like it's just a normal forum that just happens to not be listed on the main page.

That IS how I first discovered it, but I had been registered for about six months before I ever saw it.

I found that yesterday, when I was looking at online.php and saw a guest there...when I went yesterday it gave me an error though. Today it worked.

So it's really pi day AND pie day, huh? But do you need to do mathematical operations with the pie, like measure the diameter and use pi to find the circumference and the area? Or maybe..."I would like pi pieces of pie, please." |

I read an article about this recently...supposedly, global warming is not a product of the industrialization of human society, it began 8000 years ago when humans started farming. [EDIT: OK, how did the double post actually get through? I thought the board software prevented it from happening...] (edited by Banedon on 03-06-05 07:10 AM) |

That is true...the board here is less than a year old, and it has a lot more members that it would have when the original board was this age...but we did have about 400 people from the old board register during the first week... How long would it take to fill up the space on the server? Or max out the ID numbers? |

Does anyone know why the background for the ACS post NEVER loads on the most recent posting of the rankings, but ALWAYS loads on all previous postings? I'm guessing it's just me and my screwy computer...

It took me forever to figure out that level, and I don't really remember it now... It's SO tough for me to pick up multiple objects at once. Exact pixel precision is difficult for me, I guess...especially when using the keyboard instead of a gamepad... |

The board software I'm developing uses mediumints, and almost all numbers are unsigned (who needs negative ID's)? I'll probably end up changing a lot of the number sizes before I'm through, but they'll probably still be unsigned... I think the largest MYSQL integer type can go into the quadrillions, anyway...changing the type doesn't reset the auto increments, does it? |

I have memorized pi up to the first zero: 3.14159265358979323846264338327950... That's 32 digits after the decimal point. |

Yeah, I don't think there have been anywhere near that many posts on the entire Internet.

Well, it's not actually about hacking SMW, it's only about playing a hack... |
