Yes in the first pic, he's just crossed the goal and the game's doing that fade-out thing, and yes the hack called "the best levels". I like NESish tiles in the floor

The SMB1 flag is not just an replacement for the goal in some levels are in the same time!

I whan to include in my hack 2-3 extra music tracks ex: "Hammer Bros." from SMB3, "The Underground" from SMB1 and someting from SMB2 to.
I tryed to insert manualy an track for one level but when I played that level the game has stopt.
Has (or will) LM an hidden "insert joypad recorded music" previously recorded in an Zsnes *.spc file?

If someone can helpme:
- whit documentation about insering custom music in SMW (I undesten ASM subrutines and can make small demos)

- and whit other good metodes to lock the rom extra gfx from editors ...

This is my last sprite I made for my hack DwOry: "The best levels" level 103,
retro level like Mario 4 (gameboy). But the sprite I made is using SNES colors and is diferent from the sprite from Mario 4




In the top is the 4BPP (16 colors) and the 2nd is how looks in the game...

I can now reproduce Bouche's SPC hacking for SMW but the medote he's used is so hard that I will consider doing it for my hack. But yes manualy can be done!

I have started many projects for me now and I do not have time to make a special program for this. I heard someone started to make one but he gets stock somewere.
If someone made something and can give me like a surce code (C++, ASM or PAS) I will have more reasons to make a utility this year. If not I will make a small utility that can be later implemented in LM as an hiden bonus command
Of cours I will give you credit if I will use something new from you.
My program will not use normal .spc but special files that can be edited in a tracker windows (like the Amiga module trackers) and later to be insered back to the ROM over an older song changing the points and something from the old data.
If FuSoYa will give me documentation about how exactly the bypass music subroutine work (maybe some surce code for this) then my utility will be able to change and add new songs to the (SMW) ROM and later they can be used bypassing level header settings.
An inprovement to "Tile Layer Pro" is coming soon!

Knowing which Addresses are different between 2 similar files will not help you hack the music but may help you finding last modifications made by LM or oher utility in the ROM! And whit hview you can study the changes in hex or ASM
E.g. if you use the LM bypass music you can then find what LM did whit the ROM

I asked FuSoYa to make an precial asm hack in SMW for it but I do not know if FuSoYa has time for it now


If I or someone will make the asm hack the frog will be able to eat Mario

Making an .spc editor will not help hack hacking music in an ROM image but is an start. I made an nspc tutorial about the format, the chip and about .spc files. I have hacked around .spc format and .bin tracks files for the snes ROM. In an saved .spc file are pices from more then one .bin file. so the .spc file saved whit zsnes is an dump from the 4 memorys adresses in which the music is loaded.

I will come after some days whit the tutorial, if will be finished and the project will be opened for everyone. I have some problems whit the english language to.

I wan to make a program that:
- will detect the engine type used by an ROM;
- will extract the music track but not dump from memory (like zsnes) but track by track (re-making the original binary);
- convert the track to an frendly format (like Amiga modules, dumped .spc files);
- edit the song changing notes, samples ...;
- convert back the frendly format to nspc binary;
- redetect the type of the ROM - engine in whitch you wan to include;
- for known ROMs will install an ASM hack to use the new track in some levels;
- will insert back to the ROM the changed track to an user defined offset or overwriteing the old track and updating some changes in the ROM;

Dues not mater if you made your own compiler (I did to) just give me the changed directives, expression evaluation & constants. I will translate it to ASM, PAS or C++. Just with the english language I sade I have problems and just writing

Kawaii: Someone allready used more songs than originally itended.

Atma: Yes but just spc2mid or spc2mod or in winamp you can select the output to make an wave or raw 16 bit data, then extract the patens (samples) and play on GUS (Gravis Ultrasound) the converted midi file whit the original nintendo samples. But not all spc2mid utilitis are good. I do not remember whitch

This is my 1st new sprite I made for my hack DwOry: "The best levels" (last year).
This sprite is used 1st in the demo title screen (level C7).

Started as an replasement for Mega Mole so just 2 titles for now
since I don't know how to make the sprites into animated tiles
(how should be set the destination for sprite command BF in LM ?).

* Once somebody figues out SMA2 completely, Lunar Magic 2 can come out, with both SNES and GBA Mario Worlds compatibility!

That'll be a long time, though.
