Maybe your copy of Monkey Island 1 is dodgy. Mine works perfectly. Often Scumm can be finnicky at times.

In HM -> go to any room in dungeon -> right click -> edit blocks -> enter the number which the gfx appears in, then do some copy, edit and pasting

For what number to put into the game, go to that Hyrule Magic Faq thread over at Tek hacks, i believe there's a long list of what each set of blocks are somewhere in there.
Yeh there is a list. It was compiled by Dark_X and it got deleted from the Acmlm Zelda hacking thread when that forum was deleted. So i reposted it with a couple of improvements that DX missed.

I seem to the only person who has a ROM that doesnt cause the save select screen to screw up when you patch Z3.

Woah the big bad in the sewers scared me but the door above him was open already?! not sure if thats how it was meant to be. I just walked by him.

Some very excellent use of pallette editing. I liked the themes on the most part. I think however some work needs to be done on links clothes.

Youve got some interesting use of entrances and exits which seem to give you access to completely new areas of the map.

Oh and the door that appears below the witches hut is due to the location of your potion shop entrance. If you were to move the entrance (and the hut respectively) down where the exit appears then that would fix the problem. Cant remember the other way around it other than hex but im sure there is one.

Nice game Omega. Kept me entertained longer than i thought it would. so good going.

I used ZSNES the latest version. Worked fine for me.

As for that link to the zelda3 rom Omega. Your not actually meant to supply that. Its breaking laws you know. Id re-edit and delete it. An admin/mod may do it anyway.

It shows that youve spent a lot of time on this OMega. Theres only a few people on the net who have been bothered with sticking with Hyrule Magic. I too know how hard it is to get things right. You can spend hours simply fine tuning a level/dungeon to make it work glitch/bug free.

perhaps he should leave it up so weasel will be able to finally get a working rom to go with my own IPS hack. It would also come in handy for Zelda: Omega...obviously.

Another thing its good to see someone has finally bothered to edit the death mountain areas. I never have gotten round to doing that yet. Mainly grassland, marshes and cave areas.

And, am I blind, or does Snes9x actually not have the ability to take a screenshot?

Oh yeah, and the prophecy guy in Kakiro village tells me two things: one about the book of Mudora and the desert, and one about finding a line of something in the desert. Are those actually in your hack?
Thats the reason you need to use ZSNES. Plus its superior speeds and other options.

Okay, this is a lame post, but so are you, so bleh. Fix the bugs and I'll try it, I've been looking forwards to a Z3 hack for a long time.
I admitadly have only played up to the second dungeon but whats there is relatively clean of bugs. Graphical glitches are just a matter of correcting the GFX sets you are using and what tiles u place down.

As for the dungeon maps. Theyre not the easiest things to edit. They take a far amount of time to create the graphics for new rooms in a paint program. Unless you create real standard and boring rooms that are identical to Zelda3s someone using Hyrule Magic is forced to create new map segments using Paint.

My resolution is on 1152x864 so i could see the spoiler as soon as i saw opened the page.

The pegasus jump is cool which is why its strange that Nintendo didnt include it more than once in Zelda3. Nice that you added it in OMega.

Ok heres a question...perhaps a stupid one but never mind.

Ive got that picture to the left of the red and blue yin yang, which is basicly placed their through the CSS style sheet i use. What im wanting to know is if there is a way that I can replace that with a small Flash Animation?

Decided to try something new but its got me puzzled. I can add the animation i made into the html but it doesnt look correct 'cause that area is CSS coded and it pushes all the cells/sections into the wrong place.

Any help you lot can give would be great.

NEONswift, what do you mean by Pegasus Jump? Pegasus Boots I understand, but I don't recall you being able to jump in Zelda 3.
It is the longest hack that ive ever played. Alot of work has been put into it. Just some fine tuning and itll be even better.

As for the "pegasus jump" if you read Ssj4Link's post at the top of the page youll know what i mean but its a spoiler so read and your own will.

What my hack may have been small but ive done sodloads and what was there was good (may be slightly biased of course). sadly a lot of the stuff id done was based quite some way after the first dungeon of my hack. Which meant it was ready to be shown.

But longest hack so far release. Its definately that.

I hate to break this to you, but hacking isn't supposed to be easy. hacking is supposed to be challenging, when it's not, people make a bunch of shit hacks that suck. hacks shoudl also not be rushed out, but have time taken on them until they're perfected, not bug-ridden and incomplete.
Thats what i was saying. If you are opting for a boring and not quick hack then creating the maps is a piece of piss. If you put a lot of work into a zelda hack then your dungeons shouldnt really be able to fit in with the old map templates cause the rooms will be completely different. Both myself and Omega have put a lot of time into our hacks. Getting good at using Hyrule Magic is a challenge in itself so to actually have any hacks released at all is a miracle. If youve noticed theres only a select few of us still working on Zelda3 hacks.

BTW, this is just a thought, but I trust that your hack is quality work, and my skills have gotten a lot better, and thats why my game gets a lot better as it goes on, so, If me, you, and perhaps Elucid(if hes willing) pool our resources, I think we could release a large scale hack inside this year or so without excess work. I wont take offence if you dont want to, but it would make sense, especially since the task of creating a game by yourself is huge.
Well, consider it. If not, i think I may make a continuation for mine that is soely in dark world... who knows.
I have considered it in the past. I did team up with Dark_X (DxEdge) to work on my own but neither one of us really got much done together. Apart from a good source of inspiration for each others work we sorta clashed. Also got stuck on annoying bugs. Damn those bugs. I did create the Hyrule Magic FAQ at TEKhacks so Euclid and the like could ask for help and in turn help me with my own queries. For these reasons im a bit reluctant. Tell you what, if say in a year neither one of us has progressed much then we can "pool".

As for that bug of mine. Its a direct problem resulted from completely changing the way the Overworld is laid out. I have 3 2x2 areas located in the centre of the map. and when moving from some to the others the scroll screws up.

Ill keep you in mind for beta testing when i do the next dungeon in its completed form. As for that problem reforming the castle. Its good to have an idea of the layout of the overworld first. I changed practicly every square but it only let me do it cause i wiped the rom of all the sprite crap first. Id never even attempt to change it again cause i know itll just crash.

I should also thank you for this rather lengthy hack cause its given me inspiration. Ive started working on the my next dungeon's layout its a shrine full of evil fairies.

Testing your own hack is one of the big problems for myself due to the time it takes up. And if you are forced to alter a tiny bit to remove a bug then it seems even more of a pain. Yet we continue.

Fair point.

Ive got a crosh road section thats needs doing. if you want to make it for me using HM's GFX set "32". Then ill add it in. Just plain land no water but with access from north, south, east & west. Ill of course have you as a character living in my hacks village. ALways need new residents. LOL.

Yeh its still very dodgy but a good place to start. I tried my own zelda hack which strangely had no sprites. Alot of the great games like Metroid dont even start. Although im settle playing Smash TV on the move.
