 Lets see what I did on my birthday; I woke up. Studied for exam for about 3h. Had exam for about 4h. Then at 1800 I waited for Sofie to get home with ze cake, my favorite. She also brought chips and coke for the movies I downloaded that we were going to watch. We saw The Village and Shanghai Knights (and today we saw The Forgotten). Yeah, a staff re-org would be nice. Mainly to clean out inactive staff. And the fact that we don't need a single moderator for each forum. The board ran more than fine with just Ace, and given that Ace isn't even that active. Sure we had some threads laying around that needed to be closed, but if it ran ok with just him, I definately don't think we need 33 staff to 'quicken' the process. We don't need to close a bad thread the millisecond it gets posted. It's okay if it lays there for a whole second or two. Board won't collapse. |
And the more staff we have, the more views we have, and the more viewpoints we have the longer each decision takes. There's no swiftness in staff. We also need staff that will take an active part in private forums. You can't say that a forum "isn't moderated" just because we don't have a local for each, we have plenty of full mods and admins that can take care of any mess that arises in a forum. And if they don't check x forum, I'm sure a user will let us know or we'll check it after 1h-1d. Board won't die. That being said, I think some staff are too serious, rarely giving people chances unless they are popular or we know that they act in a certain way (then we might even give them too many chances). Thing is, newbies rarely get the time of the day to proove themselves. I'm not denying that we get 95% banned-material as newbies, but we can atleast give some people a chance by using the proper system of warnings before bans. Descriptive warnings. And if they screw up then, no loss, you just spent 5minutes extra of your precious life trying to help him/her be better. If it's done properly they don't have a reason to complain either. If we would've had the same mentality when the board started I doubt we'd have gotten above 100 users. People should be allowed to have fun. As for the hacking forum(s), if that's such a big problem (I don't know, I don't visit them) we can easily fix that. (restricted) |

I used to play the XMP demo for PC, before it was released as retail, then they had alot of demo servers |
 It was damned fun, the gameplay was great too. The vehicles added alot of fun and it's just great to jump with the buggy  Me and a friend kicked arse, we had a course we always took, taking a buggy and driving to the first rightmost powerplant and then we went through the mountain (and took the one in there) and then we usually speeded down the mountain into their base and took the artifact and speeded back fast as hell before anyone noticed. Oh and I don't remember what the name of the map was, but it was like the only one in the demo And the point of XMP was to add a teambased multiplayer mode to Unreal 2, it's just a little addon, think it's free if you have Unreal 2 even.

sloncek had a site with billions of copyrighted materials and suddenly he decides "hey, this'll cost money", which coincidentally, it won't, unless he hires someone. It'll only take his own time. As it did for the maker of bittorrent. But sloncek is a whore, a bitch, and he wants to make money on this grand opportunity by spoiling what seemed to be a really good idea >( Edit: Let me add some more from slashdot; "Third, there's a mystery company. Someone is paying Sloncek. He won't say who, but there's a history in the p2p world of secretive development. Since Exeem is to be adware, someday it will have a billing address, which means the legal issues faced by predecessors like Napster and Kazaa will be forthcoming, which is of course why we have a mystery company that Sloncek won't talk about in the first place. We definitely haven't heard the last of this. Personally I was hoping for more: source code and cross platform compatibility never hurts. These are the things that made BitTorrent a huge success. I guess I was hoping for a new protocol instead of just another Kazaa. I guess I was hoping for a monumental leap, and instead Exeem to be a more incremental step. Same here. mIRC has to butt in with the latest ip used for the connection to get it to work, sometimes not even that works though. |

Funny that a lite version was released so quickly though, I didn't expect that for a long time. And the whole official exeem site just oozes of corporate. I hate sloncek, he should burn.
