I like the walking Koopas. They are simply neat, although it has only two frames in its animation. I like the green one more than the red one, although the red one is more intelligent and stay on ledges

Posted on 04-15-04 12:51 AM, in Why I don't like scrollbar layouts Link
I don'T like these scrollbars too .. especially some basic layouts without scrollbars already make trouble in Mozilla and Firefox, and just for these layouts I don't want to disable them or use that swiss-cheese-like IE instead
You have to scroll fast, and if you want to compare something to a post from a longer post in a fixed textbox, you need to scroll and scroll/move the mouse wheel up and down; doing that in larger amounts or in longer threads this sucks
On the other hand I don't hate anyone for having scrollbars in his/her layout; as long this box does not have a size like 50 x 50 pixel or something else

Posted on 04-15-04 02:21 AM, in 2D vs 3D Link
I usually don't like 3D games too much; except a very rare number of games ... such as the good ol' shooter Duke Nukem 3D and some other older 3D games
In games like Warcraft 3 the view is neat, but often you end up just adjusting the view in a high position to get the best overview in the screen, thus selectiing a pseudo angle which is just a slightly modified 2D view
In RPGs you need more time to search houses for secret treasures and finding your games through the dungeons ...

On the one hand it gives you more challenge and probably neat combat scenes like in Stronghold and other games, but I stil stick more with 2D ... so I like Starcraft/Broodwar and games faishoned in the isometric or from-the-top view more than in 3D

I would like to use 1280 x 1024, but it gets too blurry on my 17" monitor, I'd first get a 19" one first, then I could work in that resolution; so I'm stuck with 1152 x 864 currently (it is displayed clearly without blurriness unlike higher resolutions )

The color chart ist neat, but only shows a selection of colors. The proper HTML codes you'll find in the color pallettes in programs like Paint Shop Pro and others; since they also show the correct HTML code of the color you'd like to have included

Last time I got money, a book from "The Wheel of Time" and two CDs from the band Apocalyptica. Tomorrow I'll have b-day again, I have no idea what I'll get, but it will mostly be money and music again I think

By the way, paradox, fix your tables, since they're fucking up the thread

It's very neat, along with the page's Favicon it even fits better
I don't find any serious mistake in that image ... maybe the finger cups seem a little bit to sharp, but that's really only a small detail ^^

Other than that, very good drawing, nice work with the shadings about the clothes and a cute face

I'm using ZSNES Win only ... currently I don't have any other SNES emulator on my computer
Very high compatibility with lots of games, always the proper speed using Auto Framerate; plus great accessibility using the keys; like the mentioned save states, slowdown modes and others.
There might be a little number of games which troubles emulators a little, like the combination of New GFX Engine or Windowed Mode setting, but I think it's the game itself what troubles the emulators - like Tactics Ogre for example

So, time to update the thread now
Today I got two nice T-shirts, money, chocolate and the DVD "Hero". I saw it already in the Chinese version in cinema with subtitles in 2003... a very nice movie starring Jet Li, performing really nice martial arts

Mine is kinda simple, but it suits well for me. It didn't change too much since the last desktop thread on the old board; except some new shortcuts. I'm too lazy to make a new screenshot

Heh, I'm really fond of using an exaggerated version of that smiley ->
I would like it to use it more often, but since it is very nervous and can be _very_ offending, I'd rather stick with

As for entering

I doubt a ventilator wouldn't help you too much, since it only circulates the warmed air already around in the room. But you could try it
Where is your modem ?
Remove it from any warm source, such as a spot below an open window where the sun shines onto it and warms it even more.

Merging popular smilies like :ugly: on gamers' boards with some nice selfmade smilies by Ace doesn't fit fully; keep the original style. The board was made from scratch on like the smilies too
I value more over while I'm adored of the classic hammer smiley and use it quite often in two boards, like here too from time to time

If someone wants to use some other smilies too, he or sher simply could link to it inside a or <img src="blah"> tag

Hehe, different rank settings would be nice ... like if you pick one specified set in your profile
I'd even think about ripping all sprites from Rudora no Hihou ...they rule also, since all enemies are animated too; I already posted the samples below
And these are only the _standing_ animations
Here a small selection (probably to convince more people to play that game), I hope it doesn't slow down the thread, since the most animations don't take up too much space:
Axis,Larf,Reemon,Hornet,Kul,Sol,Pulsaris,Lamias,Rocknapock,forgot the name of this boss <img src=images/smilies/cute.gif align=absmiddle>,1st Boss in Sion's chapter,Bumper
I'm just too lazy to rip them all

Dunno if you'll all agree... But i like the idea ...

I won't got with that in fully, but it is better not to allow all names changed. A new member who asks for a name change after his first two days like "OMG MY NAM SUKS DUDE I DONT WANT 2 BE SSJULTRAMEGGA5000 MOREON. PLS CHANGE MY NAM" should have thought _before_ he registered that nick
Letting someone name "OMG u suck" for example would be pretty bad if any user might be able to change the name anytime
By the way, at least in phpBBs people can change their names whenever they want, if enabled in the admin crontrol panel. Bleh
