For that underwater weapon you'll need an item which disables the timer. Either post into the FF help thread or go on pages like www.gamefaqs.com. Although I think many people should know the answer here concerning that boss
I didn't beat both weapons either, since I didn't messed with them long

Nice screens, but as for the first screenshot, it seems that the cloud world is floating on a blue background than water or the big sky.
Try to add some little clouds or probably very distant objects (stars etc.)
Other than that, good map and interesting path layout with a non-straight way.
The other screens are also neat, especially the last two

Does Chaupon count? (He was unbeatable.)

Chupon is beatable, but it is very hard: You need Locke with a high speed value (99 or even better, if the game goes up above that value), you need to have Odin which raises Locke's speed by one point each level up.
Then give him all other stuff to put his speed still up; equip the Atma Weapon, the relics Dragon Boots and Dragon Horn and with a little luck you will beat him

You also forgot Vagrant Story (PSX), a hack 'n' slay with some RPG elements; despite its average GFX I really like it. It has agood atmosphere, challenging bosses and a neat combo system. I'm playing it atm, but saw the game over logo quite often; the weapons have masses of attributes and affinities and need to be prepared well when encountering bosses. The music and game-play are ass-kicking for me ... if you like fumbling hours of optimizing your weapon(s) and fighting hard enemies

There you enter the full URL to an image you want to use. Don't use too colorful layouts as the text will remain unreadable. As for more stuff like textboxes, other effects you need to learn HTML and include it into your post header and signature.

Today's LCDs have more advantages to standard screens; they are more ergonomic than those; use far less energy and even the viewer's angle (which was a problem since you needed to stare directly onto it on earler models) is no major problem anymore
For anyone who likes to play games like UT and others, they probably won't be too hapy with LCD screens, since they have very low refresh times with 20 ms or even more.

My mouse is also right from the keyboard
To give that thread a little more content: How about the type of mouse ?
I'm using a no-name USB mouse w/ three buttons including the mousewheel and with a cord, it fits for me very well; since the cord is long enough and I have sufficient space to navigate using the mouse

Good ol' SMB1ish fireflower is teh w00t
I'd go with the leaf too. It requires a slight amount of more work, since you don't need to hold down the jump button like using the cape. Also it is at least a little more challenge to get 1UPs in spots with unlimited emerging enemies, such as the green pipes in 1-2 and other levels. Do this for an hour or even more and your fingers hurt

It was already annoying with my little minipic which is originally the staff from Tactics Ogre and auto-resizing was not that good at all
But as for that ... "the finger" is great, although I would make the finger a little broader to have a better contrast, depending on the selected background/scheme in the user's profile

It's good; but if you really want to come close to the original, you need to put seperator lines in the pipe, since the SML1 pipes consist of pipe segments than one entrance and an endless single part

Posted on 04-13-04 02:45 AM, in What does your desktop look like when you're hacking? Link
When I still hacked SMW (and no other game else; since I'M too lazy to fumble in a hex editor , I had this opened:
- Two instances of LM
- Tile Layer Pro
- Web browser (Opera first; later Firefox)
- Blocktool
- Windows calculator
- Text files for personal notes
- An emulator minimized, when LM didn't have the "Run ROM in emulator feature"
- Probably ICQ or Trillian sometimes, but usually that distracted me from working

Yeah, try an alternate browser first, such as Firefox, it's faster than IE in the process of loading web pages, features a shitload of goodies (in-built pop-up blocker and much other, especially since 0.8) and, just by the way, avoids the IE with its endless number of security holes. IE is concerning that like swiss cheese
