Hehe, neat demo, although I'm not through yet. Super GFX, some jumps need to be well timed (like these rotating Yoshi's Island platforms in Yoshi's Island 3 - one mistake and you land in a water trap - the only exit seems to be the death in abyss
Based on Bouche's DW3 music 'engine' err file, like many other hacks; good overworld edits, simply ass-kicking
As for the link I posted: I almost forgot sthings that Lycos German usually works; for me that Freewebs links doesn't work while for some others the Lycos link didn't work

I also would like that idea. I cannot contribute monsters but "my" char- and faceset
You can assign me any role you want to.

The white part in that faceset (yes, only one, but at least in can be imported without the need to edit it before inserting in RM2k ) should be the transparent colour: Black doesn't fit as transparent colour at all

My profile lists in postsbyforum.php currently
1.) General Chat
2.) Help/Suggestions
3.) Super Mario World Hacking

Since I have not that much posts yet, this result is quite non-representitive for me; my favourite forum was and still is SMW Hacking, since I love to play really good hacks. So my vote for it went too

As for the title, I like such titles

I saved and opened that image in my Animation Shop 3.04 and noticed it has 51 frames with a delay 0.02 seconds each frame (at least the first ones, didn't remember all delay entries from the entire animation ).
I think some browsers, probably also the application Animagic, have problems with very low delays for single frames; like IE doesn't seem to register speed improvements in times less than 0.8 s per frame; if there is more crap to load on a webpage, the image also slows down slightly. If you have a fast computer you probably won't notice it, but I think frames in web browsers are always, at least a little, slower than in the GIF animator and such.

If this also concerns some other links (you click on a valid link but nothing happens), check, if probably a "berserking" extension of Mozilla causes this problem.
If you want to log out, then right-click the logout-link and paste it into the address bar.
For the moment this _should_ work.

Posted on 03-24-04 07:45 PM, in Naming Guidelines [Rules] -or- If I renamed your thread, read this. Link
When this thread is done (I see it for collectingt ideas), its results could be copied into a normal stickied (and closed) thread; distinguishing what is rule and what only recommendation, plus using the good overwiev then of a new stickied thread, free of comments. An example how I mean this is as follows, although this deals about RM2k (the forum's purpose is similar to SMW's ones, except the editor of course):
http://rpg2k.foren.4players.de/viewtopic.php?t=44159 (German )

In this thread we also could include recommendations for the "optimal" thread setup (dunno know if this would make sense and avoiding senseless threads ), like

for demo threads:
- Name of the hack, status (approxiamately, of course it is not possible to set the exact status when everything will be finished etc,)
- screens in .JPG or PNG
- if custom blocks, ASM hacks etc. got used, it should be mentioned. Of course this does not mean, you'd have to include EVERY single custom block you used, but a nice pharase like "The hack contains custom blocks from the Block Inserter tool" or "There are some neat ASM hacks here, added a boss life bar" or othere might be
1.) fitting far better and
2.) be a better guideline, to avoid threads like "my hack" titles and "I'll post screenshots in two weeks" in the first post

Weasel, concerning Coke vs. Pepsi in the term 'Sprite' vs '7UP' I'd vote for 7UP
Sadly, here in Berlin I can't get 7UP in every supermarket while you get Sprite anywhere; it's odd but true

Heh, JavaScript is enabled in Firefox 0.8 too, and I either cannot log out (what I never would do, except I'm at work; and then I've to use IE and it works ).
Between Firefox and my Internet connection sits the Proxomitron listening to port 8080; bypassing that page either doesn't help at all, but nevertheless, there's alway the way to delete the cookies

Posted on 03-24-04 11:36 PM, in What desktop resolution do you run? Link
Hmmm, my refresh goes down to 75 Hz when I attempt to switch to 1280 x 1024, although currently I'm running my monitor in 1152 x 864@85 Hz now, it is indeed like much worse to have 75 Hz only; and when I imagine some people run high resolutions at 60 Hz, my eyes would be bleeding
As for colours, I'm running 32-bit; my graphics card doesn't support 24 bit; I dunno notice major differences between 24 and 32 bit of colours.

Posted on 03-25-04 04:26 PM, in When can we expect the old board backup to come online? Link
About the old threads, yes, it might be okay to host the old database somewhere, with login.php and editprofile.php removed. The Lunar Magic Beginner's FAQ is lost now, and since I don't have a backup of it (I HAD one, but it vanished and didn't was able to locate it, the .txt file simply is gone ), having it somewhere, at least it might be nice to have it back . The same goes for the OLD ExGFX Workshop and "Useful memory locations" threads as well, at leats concering SMW hacking
About the post counts: My 2,5k posts are gone, but there is far more important in life than these

Go into the Internet Options and set the refresh setting to "auto".
If this does not help, search for spy- or adware you got from IE or applications you installed. Get Spybot Search & Destroy, update and run it, reboot and try it again then.

Didn't got any old thread which I was interested in by Google and its "In cache" option when showing the results ... but when the restoration of the old board database advances, we'll be able to see at least some older threads sooner or later on an alternate host ... for viewing purposes okay, especially dealing for the ROM hackers

Hey, dunno if I should put this here, but for the love of god, not everyone's browser reads txt as an image, so get a real host. There's more than enough free hosts that allow image linking. Find one and go there instead of this txt crap.

Yes, previous versions of Mozilla and Firebird displayed the program code in the tab/window usually when attempting to open a renamed .PNG to .TXT file on Geoshitties Geocities instead of the image file. It goes vice versa with many other file types like .GIF, etc. ... even .RAR sometimes displayed the code than to download the files for me
From the improvements, all builds from Firefox 0.8 on should be able to handle these "foreign" extension better than in 0.7 or earlier, but I didn't try it yet
Lycos and Angelfire should offer true remote linking, but I don't know which is the BEST freehost, if you only need to host some screens and demo(s) from your hacK. In Germany, Lycos.de fits very well ... unlimited bandwith, remote linking work though

It's pretty nice, lots of stuff, small movies made with GB camera and giant pixel zoom effects
And yes, Wario's Woods ... I just knew the NES version, I liked the boss battles in the B-Mode (?), although I never made it to Wario

TSRP 2 ?
I just cannot proceed because in the later part, because two evil pipes to the game of doom (level 000 ) won't allow me to finish the level

A swim cheat ? As for the part, especially where the layer 3 water is located:
You can go up, but some walls are sensitive bricks; when you touch them, they'll break
I think you just mean the part where the spiked ceiling comes down. Yes, although I really liked FPI's hack (Deku Tree, wooohooo ), this was the most PAINFUL level for me ... destroying many ice blocks with fireballs, while the floors decreases and decreases; it took me very long to beat that passage

^ Go there and download the new SMW: TNL.

Please do not go in the pipe at the end of World 3.

I love surprises .. especially when exiting in a room consisting of diagonal blue and white ledges, where 8 of 9 squares are rotating, each containing a mushroom, flower or star

As for the hack, the screens look promising, except that long bridge even the unaltered overworld is okay
I'll download this later since I'm running a major download (The 66 MBs of OpenOffice take a while w/ ISDN ) now
