Hello Everyone

I am Wastum, and I am new on this board.

I am 15 years old, I live in the Netherlands. My interests are games, computers, web/gamedesign and development and sports.

I found this site by luck. And I'm glad I found it.

I found this site this way:
I once, thought I wanted to make my own version of SMB2. I downloaded Game Maker and downloaded tiles and sprites, and started learning Game Maker after that. But it was a lot harder than I thought. There were soms triggers and other things I couldn't get established. Later, I searched for screenshots on Google, and suddenly found for screenshots from different levels. The site were the screenshots came from was named OK Impala. I took a look and found SMB2: Second Run.
I downloaded it, and thought: Cool. There was also a link to the Hex Editor, so I downloaded it, thinking I could now finally make my own version of SMB2. I opened the Hex Editor, and my brains almost Exploded. This wasn't just something like PHP, ASP or Javascript. This was all number. Everywhere.
I forgot about the editing completely for a few weeks of months. Until I wanted to do it again. So I searched google 'SMB2 level Editor'. So I got to this site, and found Acmlm's SMB 2 level discombobulator. I tried it, and I was very happy. But I got a little less happy when I read the readme file, and found out that the readme file was right. Currently, I know how the Discombobulater works, and I keep trying until I finally finish my own version. I hope there will be any updates. Lol, last update in 2000 I want to thank acmlm and all other users who helped him out

Hello there.

I was hacking SMB2 as some know, and besides the NES version, I'm also hacking the SNES Version (All-stars). But there are a few problems:

1. Enemies that won't appear (NES SMB2)
I have edited Area 'Way to the Boss' of 1-3 to what I wanted. I'm alsmot finished with that Area, but there are a few minor bugs I have to get rid of. One of those bugs is that the hawkmouth doesn't always appear.



As you see, sometimes it appears immediatly. But mostly, when I play that Area, it doesn't appear. And it takes a long walk over to that area and walk back's to make it appear. It always appears in the editor though.

2. Header Data that doesn't update en object moving glitch (SNES SMB2)
I just started working with the SNES version of SMB 2 (all-stars) and tried to edit a little piece of 'way to the boss' of 1-3. I firstly changed the music to Boss. But when I started the game in an emulator, I still heard the Underground music.
After That, I tried to move some objects and enemies. Enemy moving works fine. But Object removing not realy. It does move the object fine, but a copy of the object is still left at the old spot.

3. Editor Update (Both Versions)
Is the editor ever going to be updated? Lol

Looks nice. Long time a go that I saw a new game that is all about Luigi. I also like it that it's the sprite from SMB2 I'm looking forward to try this hack. It looks challenging too
