Can you not get a generic emulator frontend for Linux?

???(V): Unknown in the '????' tab is the amount of lives you start with, I believe.

By the way, I've uploaded my current SMB notes here. (Excuse the formatting WikiDPad's HTML export seems to dump a lot of extra linebreak tags into the HTML )

Because it needs to be a program to actually check for free space, and having a GUI would make the thing more friendly (well, to people who are scared of the command-line).

It wouldn't be that hard to write implement probably, as the Lunar Compress DLL has RATS related functions that scan for free space and what not (which is what BlockTool uses).

Because maybe he doesn't know C/VB/Delphi to actually create a program?

As for RATS tags, you don't need to know the format of one. Lunar Compress has specific functions for looking for free space in ROMs that use RATS tags that hides away the little details like the format of the tags.

It's really not hard to go into Celice's profile, go to the View Threads by User, and find the relevant thread.

I don't think this thing can be 'dumbed down big time'. It could be made into a GUI application yes, but the bit settings cannot really be dumbed down.

Looks like you may never get it, then.

Really, if you are a Linux newbie, you should not be using Gentoo. Apparently, it's for hardcore Linux nerds users, so it's not advisable to use when starting out. Like Cornellius said ubuntu, fedora, or even one of those live CDs you can get, would be much easier to learn from.

I'm still updating it, but this is mostly what I have.

I'm actually unable to add some of my games, as they seem to be PAL only (Kevin Keegan's Player Manager for SNES), and a few of my games have different titles (Football Manager, Project Rub).

Why not create a website for it, instead of using email? And instead of monthly, why not just report on hack/utility releases as they happen (or there about)?

A site like Zophar's Domain, but specifically aimed at ROM hacking would be brilliant. (Providing it was actually updated)

Well, if that happens, usually pages can be reverted to previous versions of the page. (Depending on the wiki software)

He means the top half in that screenshot, which is displaying what looks like debug text.

Like a lot of ROM hacking programs, it fell into the black hole of iced projects, never to return again.

(Actually, I remember a beta version was released, but that's all I ever heard of it)

Just asking, there were a couple of threads in the ROM hacking forum that were closed and trashed, when really there was no reason for them to be. Any ideas why they were trashed? (Generally ROM hacking threads don't get trashed, just closed)
