Scan your SMB3 ROM with GoodNES (available at Zophar's). It will tell you what type of ROM your SMB3 ROM is. Then use the appropriate patch.

You can attack with it in the normal game. Although, an invincibility style hack for it would be cool.

What the hell is AV hacks?

Ahem, maybe you should tell us what it is, as the website takes too long to load here.

Jeez. That sounds like a lot of work for something virtually nobody will use. If he wanted to code the ability to extend LM, couldn't he just export functions like you do with a DLL, but in the application. I presume that's how plug-in engines are written. By the way, what's wrong with writing external applications that run separately from LM?

This only really effects emulators on things like PDAs, cell phones, etc. Plus, it's only applies to emulators for Nintendo handhelds. Emulators on a PC don't apply in relation to this patent.

Man, try to keep up! This news is like 2 months old!

No, it wouldn't. There haven't been enough Rubikon related questions in this forum to warrant it. Besides, there are no such things as sub-forums on Acmlm Board.

Um, I did check again. I see.. 1 thread about Rubikon. Wow. It really deserves its own forum for that one thread!

Can't all Rubikon questions, go in this thread? Isn't Rubikon part of EliteMap? So, it already has a sticky thread.

Who would try to translate Robotrek to spanish? That's just strange.

If you're still doing it. You're on your own. There's no data, and, probably, there won't ever be any data.

Not to mention there's no ultilities for it. It's just overlooked.

Presumably, he wants to translate it so spanish people can play it in their native language. Nothing strange about that at all.

Er, it said he looked and couldn't find it.. Is it just me, or has the IQ around here just got a bit lower?

Anyways, to answer the original poster's question, I'd try Lunar Compress by Fusoya. It supports a graphics format of Robotrek.

Porting an application from one OS to another would be quite a lot of work, especially, if the original application wasn't designed at the start with running on it on a different operating system in mind. Besides, there are so few ROM hackers who do use Linux or any other OS than Windows, so doing all that work would be pointless as very few people would get benefits out of it.

If someone really wants to run Lunar Magic, why not install Windows, and only boot into it when you want to use LM. You can have more than one operating system on a PC, you know.

Loading levels is the most important thing in a level editor. Hence the name. Level editor. To do popupmenus in VB, look up PopupMenu in the Visual Basic help. Or google it, if you don't have the help installed.

The reason those ROMs were able to be converted was because they use no memory mappers. SMB3 does, and it would therefore be harder to convert. Besides, what advantage does ZSNES have over any NES emulators? None that I can see.

The latest version of SNES9x (v1.42, I believe) can run it fine.

Or, you could just play it on SNES9x which decompresses the graphics without the need of any external graphics packs.

For the record, I prefer ZSNES. SNES9x runs weirdly on my machine (it runs too fast whatever frameskip settings I use, and I can't find any decent resolutions to play the games at), so I use ZSNES. I was just pointing out the simplest solution for the guy to play the game. It sure beats any currently existing solution.

It's a waste if you intend on running the PS2 games on your PC. There isn't any publically available emulators that can run games. So if you want to play PS2 games, the only way to do so is to buy a PS2.

Nope, ChaosFlare.

Rom.Write(B,3);

Basically, that writes 3 bytes of the variable B.
