With the slightest bit of work, (um, create a NESticle save state) most tile editors can use the correct in-game palette.

Apparently it's for Dexterity. Unfortunately, the opening post was completely vague and devoid of any real information.

The examples come with your ROM. You see, you find an event in the game similar to what you want, and learn off the code there. Sure, it requires a decent knowledge of the game (to tell where certain events happen), but it's not hard to do.

Download.com reviews are mostly written by idiots. That is all.

1) Did you rename the ROM to zamn.smc, and put it in the same directory as the editor? 2) Did you download the full version of the editor? It worked second time for me. First time, it prompted me to rename the ROM to zamn.smc. |

Did you download the full version of the editor though? There's two versions on the site. One with images, and one without. Quite why he put two versions up, is beyond me. The only time I ever got a blank screen, was when I loaded the one without images. |

I'm just noticing that nobody has nominated either Kyoufu Kawa or Elitemap. So, I nominate them both for most innovative hacker and best ROM editor. I know pokemon isn't the most fashionable thing to hack, but he has released a lot of editors within the Elitemap package this year (hence it's nomination), and he's done some funky stuff like the Rubikon scripting language. (Maybe I just have a fascination with scripting languages though ) |

That looks quite funky actually. I downloaded Dev-PHP but never actually got round to installing it. So I'll download this one, and get round to installing it in 2025, maybe.

Originally posted by Davis It doesn't look too terrible, so why do people insist on bringing it up with every hack that does it? (90% of them) It just seems like a cheap shot to me. One of these days, you'll only say something positive about a hack. Then I'll die of utter shock. |

Originally posted by Tarale Heh, I usually call the Kirov's, slow moving turds of death. They are a cheap-ass tactic to use. Even cheaper than a huge fleet of Prism tanks. Personally, I prefer waves of Chrono IFV's, just for the challenge. However, the most cheapest tactic to get money hasn't yet been mentioned. Put a spy in an enemies refinery. Usually, in skirmish mode, you get tons of cash. Spies rock. |

Weird. You could try emailing the author, perhaps he knows of a solution.

I think that question takes the "Most Vaguest Question on a Messageboard 2004" award. Well done.

You need to learn the type of assembly used for the SNES first. It's not just a few clicks here and there and you have a new feature.

Hopefully when the whole issue of payment is sorted out, CG can start to come out of its dormant status. It's a group with a lot of history, so it's a shame to see it just rot. Although there seems to be a lot of rotting going on at all the ROM hacking groups these days. I think it's safe to say that the whole ROM hacking community is going through a lean period. |

Well, the original FCE Ultra is released under the GPL, so yes, it's safe to assume that the source code will be released. I do hope that turn it into a GB/GBC emulator was a joke, though.

The IPS format sucks. It's completely useless for NES hacks that expand the PRG section of the ROM. I'd started preliminary work on a new patching format that would allow you to use a kind of rudimentary scripting language to move blocks of data around in a file and other tasks, but I have no real motivation to finish it. |
