windwaker: uhm.... don't include me in your post.... I don't think homosexuals are not human.... I don't agree with what they do, or how they act in certain aspects.... but they are still humans and I'm not going to treat them like animals....

go ahead, close the thread!

windwaker is being a retard, thinking he is funny.....

and I did mean 1) the gay pride thing and 2) some of the things that they may or may not do in their own personal areas of life....

if you all want to claim an online discussion between me and I don't know how many people a victory, then so be it.... I was overmatched..... 5-10 on 1 isn't very fair.... but that's not the point...

I haven't had time or cared enough to sit down and argue back against many of you.... the little bit I have done wasn't done as well as it could have been either....

take this as you will.... it doesn't change the situation either way.... it is probably going to happen in Canada.... and won't for at least 4 years in the US....

It's an itch around the heart, a joy when you are together, and a longing when you are apart.

wind: your posts were small, and didn't take much thought or attention to read and reply to.... his, would take a lot more time and thought...

and it does help when there is more than 1 person trying to argue something.... I wouldn't be on my own trying to answer all the questions and points being raised....

which, I still don't have the time, or the motivation to address

[edit] oh, and this post took me about 1 minute to post.... which isn't very much.... it's pretty much the maximum amount of time I want to be spending here right now [/edit]

here is my opportunity to shock everyone here.... I'm going to agree with the rest of you.... in some degree at least - it's a little out of character right?

well, on this issue, I can't deny the benefits of legalizing pot.... it just makes sense....

along with the reasons Vystrix gave.... I would like to add something, or expand with my opinions

crime would definately drop.... I heard like 75% of robberies/muggings are drug related. ie. to get money to buy drugs...

it would definately save a lot of people money.... not only those that buy, but also the governement.... however, the government definately needs a strict way to control volumes of the product and track who gets what and how much.... that's just how I feel about it.... I'm not saying restrict it, but don't make so much of it that.... there should also be "intoxicated" levels that restrict you from driving a car and working heavy machinery.... sure, it's possible to drive a car while high.... same as when you are drunk.... but I doubt you are as aware and your reflexes are as high in all cases while high.... just a safety thing....

oh, and there should also be a you can't be high at work policy.... because I think we all know how apathetic high people are.... and that doesn't make for a good working environment....

hrm.... other than that, I can't think of any concerns I have right now....

well, that's the other thing.... it is happening anyways... but under more dangerous circumstances....

and, with street bought stuff.... there can always been something else in with what you think you're buying....

legalizing would definately get rid of that worry

the title was badly worded.... the poll question however was not.... if you had read it properly.... you would know that

"Should marijuana be legal or not?"

well, I hate to poke a hole in your poll.... but you called it a free for all... and then listed several countries together...

shouldn't you have listed like 30 countries with armies well enough equipped to actually wage a significant war in another country?

oh well.... I pick russia

see.... in that specific case.... I would say yes...

in general.... I say case by case basis.... in some cases there isn't a justifiable reason to do it at the moment people may want to...

and then there are cases like the one already brought up, where this girl has been brain dead for 15 years.... and it's just a waste of money and hospital space keeping that person alive

I won't deny that the world may be warming up currently... but I'm sick and tired of Kyoto and the "scientists" that say that if we don't do something about it that the world is going to end and millions will die....

and about Kyoto: it is a HUGE waste of money in Canada.... and it is going to do next to nothing (0.06 degrees less of an increase over 25 years or something like that)

without the US on board.... there isn't much of a point for Canada to be doing it.... in fact... Canada is just going to lost out because of this.... it's just a waste of money

we can try to increase air quality all we want in Canada, but unless the US does the same.... we are going to be getting a lot of that same air up here....

maybe not in Alberta specifically.... cause there is nothing of significance directly south of us.... but, definately in the East it wouldn't make much of a difference...

plus.... the cost to get Kyoto going (which has only been "allocated" not spent) is going to be a huge burden on the economy....

I just see more bad than good out of it.... there has got to be a smarter way to deal with the problem.....

well, at least someone is....

that one thing (no sex before marriage) would basically eliminate sexually transmitted diseases in a generation or two....

but.... sex is too much fun right?

that sucks.... knowing people that have died is always just hard.... there's no way around it.... you've just got to hold out for a while and the pain will subside.... eventually...

as for the girl.... you guys are probably young....

don't worry so much about having a super serious relationship right now.... have fun and enjoy life while you can..... once you are grown up you will realize that wanting to seem grown up isn't worth it...

act like a kid while you are allowed to

yeah, okay.... there have been laws put in place on certain things like SO2 and the like.... we don't enjoy having that float around....

but stopping CO2 isn't like stopping SO2.... the costs are so much higher and the benefits in my opinion are not outweighing the costs.....

I heard the number... $1000/household/year for Kyoto to be implemented over the next 20 years....

seems like a little too much to me
