Is there a way to put in music files into your rom? I want to use more than what's in SMW, and when I go to pick music, I've noticed a lot of "Not used" spaces, so does that mean you can insert more? If so how could I do it? What program do I use? And where can I find more music?

Even though the background is overused; you can still make it unique by doing a custom color palette. Try making the sky redish-orange like during a sunset; try making your backgrounds have the effects of different times of the day. When posting screenshots, make sure you snapshot the "most happening area; it'll grasp other people and make them want to play it. Oh yeah one more thing! Don't mess up like I did and make the palettes too vibrant; keep it more suttle or rustic, but be creative!

Yeah just like Yoshi Master said, just keep trying! Don't worry about the several morons that'll go: "Duh! He's a noob!" Just freakin' ignore them, I'm working on my first hack, and I've had several people get all over me for posting a simple question I needed help with! Ask questions, and keep trying; there are some cool people in this forum too.

I "the noob" have been sucessful in inserting my own GFX yay! But when I set my FG graphics it looks fine until I change levels and go back; then it's set back to that ugly default tile blocks when I go back; even though the blocks are in the same position. I Insert my EXGFX then I change levels; then go back and it's not how it was supposed to be! What am I not doing right?!

Well I'm becoming less of a noob as I gain more knowledge of inserting GFX and ExGFX, I must say I rock at hacking, but still being a noob I've got a huge problem!! I've inserted a really good BG FG1 and FG2!(Background) But when I change the FG and BG numbers it has glitched up my "cement blocks and the little "run-up-the-side-triangle-thingys, and Yoshi coins!" So I know that changing the code for the Backgound made it look good, but now some objects and some sprites are glitched; is there any way I can edit my blocks to stay the same, and still keep the background?

So do you think if I'm on the 16 x 16 tile editor; I should probobly use the same Map16 page that the background is on, and I should find one of those stupid ugly defaule tile blocks that is on that very page and custom make the cement block over again?

I've always been obsessed with video games; especially Mario games, and I always used to draw them for fun, and I would just want to put it on the game so bad, but I was probobly 8 during that time when SMW was about 3 years old. I don't draw for a level design now(even though it could be a smart idea) but I design very good without having to draw on paper. Like Hyperhacker said, I think it would be ideal to draw Overworlds on maps so ou can get the basic idea, but then again I have a big imagination, and i'm a good drawer. It goes different for different people I guess.

I might change the name, but it will still pertain to Elements.

Yes, this'll be kind of a repeat (as far as worlds go) that many people use, but I also have some ideas I thought up myself; I don't know if anyone has used some of the same ideas, if so oh well I'm going to do it anyway! They might not be in this order...

1. Koopa Park(Finished)
2. Desert(Finished)
3. Volcano
4. Snow
5. Sky
6. Machina(If I can find some good GFX!)
7. Pirate Ships (Maybe) or Ghost World
8. ??? (Open to suggestions)
9. Bowser World

Switch palace levels are now Switch Courses, and will be a great length of a level, instead of the same ol boring "real quick" levels.

Now my ideas for the special world. (8 levels like always)

1. Fire
2. Earth
3. Water
4. Air
5. Machina
6. Ghost
7. Darkness
8. Light

The 8th world koopa kid will be a choice. I will have at the end of that Castle level seven pipes to your choice of koopa kid you will face

I've had some BS remarks about these idea are going to suck!
But I've had more people say they thought it would be pretty tight!

I am stumped on the Star Road idea i'm open to suggestions. But I'm sticking with Element levels for "Special World" No one is going to change my mind on that part.
The special world levels are not going to be some lame 300 timed levels; because they are Special I'm going to make them excessivly long were talking 999 time, but it'll be fun. Each level will be overdone as far as it's element. For example: On the Fire level. Koopas will look fiery red regardless of their "suppossed to be" color, I'll have the classic underground/lava level, but it will go into the above-ground levels, but it will not be the same ol- same ol' boring grass level. I'll figure out a way to bring out Fire and Fiery design to the level when you get above ground, I'm definently putting forth an effort into making the atmosphere of whatever the level it's element. But I'm more stumped on what'll be the point of the elments world. Dang it!

If anyone has some BS remarks, please do not reply; I don't want to hear it!!

If anyone has suggestions, or might want to lend a halping hand; I'll be open to it, and greatly appreciate it, even if you tell me something should be different (except element levels) I'll take heed, because I want to make it something your gonna want to play. I'll be using some GFX form ExGFX workshop, if anyone has some GFX they wouldn't mind lending, or they would like to see in this hack I would be grateful. Thanks goes out to anyone who helps me or has suggestions.

If he has support on the GBA version; then we could do more. But I'm thinking it's going to have to be a seperate program for SMA2; think about it, SMW & SMA2 probobly uses two seperate paths, codes, and so on and so forth, but if FuSoYa has found a way to for both to be compatible, then we'll have a whole lot more options; all I can say is I hope it'll be compatible! We'll see what he comes up with in the future.

I was thinking I could turn off the time, but i didn't know if i should or not.
If you wanted we could team up for a hack together' based off elements. But that's only if you would want to; that way we would both have more into it, and it could be fun; I also know me and you are both working on the Luigi quest with Timdevril, but I don't know... Maybe I'm just thinking too much!

First download YY-CHR at Zophar's Domain. Extract your GFX and it will automatically put your rom's GFX in a folder called Graphics; then open it up with YY-CHR(The Graphic files not the rom like I did) Then change the format to SNES, and you'll get a clear picture Sprites and letter fonts and stuff. I hope that helps you. unless you already knew that.
