Yep, the fat shyguys only appeared in 2-7 of the original YI. Thanks, which palettes did you like Mega Luigi, the FG or the BG palettes?

I think it looks fine. The foreground isn't that dark, it is a medium blue, and along with the brighter BG it provides a small nuance.

Well...alright, if you say so, I'll change it...I just hope you have worked out your palettes in 1-1. That FG is very ugly, the bright red-orange and the dark brown in the FG definitely clashes.

Definitely you should change the FG palette. It is ugly. Very ugly. You see, we get advice from each other on our palettes, so that is good, we both have ugly palettes somewhere. Don't feel like I'm trying to insult your hack, that seems to be the only problem. Sorry if I seem harsh...I'm really becoming competitive with this YI hacking stuff, I am determined to become one of the top YI hackers. It's all good.

Well, cpu, I didn't take your advice about changing the BG color. I wanted to keep the clouds in the BG, and if I made the BG color darker, it would look stupid, because why would there be clouds at night time? Not a good suggestion... Anyway, I decided to change the FG color instead...



Here, I just went for a bright effect for the both the FG and BG, instead of making them darker.

I hope this finally encourages you to fix your horrificly ugly FG palettes in 1-1.

Well, cpu told me he didn't like it, so I changed it. I don't want people too displeased with my hack, even before playing it, so I just gave in and made him happy, sorry Mega Luigi.

Ah, it's good to know you fixed your 1-1 palette. Happy you took my advice, because I took yours (well not exactly), and hopefully both our levels will be better now. I'd like to see a screen of your new FG color.

Are you using sprite 19 (display message box text) in that level? That may be the reason for the problem.

I actually mixed around ghost house sprites with a lot of other sprites, such as the reflecting fireball from the castle sprite set, the carrot top lift, and upside-down pirahna plant. I used ExGFX to do this. If you would like, I could give you the ExGFX file, since I am not longer working on SMW+6. Just let me know if you want it.

You can actually keep sprite 19 in that level. Just press Shift + F8 to install an optional fix for this sprite.

Ack, there seems to be a drawback with using these giant Shy-Guys. When I use these guys in the level, they make those giant eggs, as most of you know. But, if you have three or more giant eggs, then other giant shyguys don't appear. This doesn't seem to cause any problems for any other sprites, but the big eggs make the other giant shyguys disappear. Would it be too much to ask to have a warning in the game, possibly in a message box, that you shouldn't carry more than two giant eggs? I want to keep these big shyguys, because they are important to the level, or do you think I should take them out and hold off until a sprite memory feature is implemented?

Nope, you can carry more than 2, even in the original game if I recall correctly. So, whatcha think, should I keep the big shyguys in the level, and put a warning not to carry more than 2 big eggs, or start the level over without the big, loveable shyguys ?

Heh, that's creative. I would love to use something like that. Only now I discovered there is no message box text for level 1-7, so I'm screwed, but I am going to mess with the header to see if sprite properties are in there.

EDIT: I just realized, the original 2-7 in YI has the same property, if you have more than 2 big eggs, the other big shyguys vanish. So I guess it wouldn't be such a drawback to have these big shyguys in my hack since the original YI did the same thing. But I think I should include the message box anyway, but just my luck, 1-7 has no message box text...so I can't change the text since it doesn't exist anyway. Great, I had to choose the one level from 1-1 to 2-3 that has no message box text, just my luck. Oh well...maybe I could put it in the previous level, or can y'all just figure it out without the message box?

Harry the Hedgehog's cave looks really nice, probably the best screens I've seen of your hack. Good job with all the cave slopes and stuff. But for 1-1, to change it up a bit, try using the FG palette from 1-5, that goes good with the flower ground.

It's screen time again . These are from 1-8.



Here, I used a rarely used castle tileset, the stoney castle set.



Here, you see a bunch of rarely used enemies: sparkies, stretching ghosts, blindfold boo's, and pyroguys.



I used a platform ghost in this level...it was only used once in the original YI, so I figured I'd use it again.

Wow, I keep forgetting I have so many screens. I just found another .



Here is a shot of Extra 1: Goomba Polooza. You can pretty much figure out what the theme of the level is by reading the title. Well...now that I'm finally wrapping up world 1, you know what that means? Demo time is approaching ! Hopefully the latest it should be out is the weekend, if not sooner.
