Oooh, I'd love to help design levels for you in JAMH. You know my hacks, don't you, SMW+1-6, SMWLL, SMW-, and SMW2+. That's a lot of level designing experience right there. I personally don't know how you feel about my level designs, but if you find them favorable, I'd love to help design some levels.

I agree that a lot of the screens look too plain and boring, but that doesn't necessarily mean that's how it is. It's better to portray the most interesting areas of the levels through screenshots rather than the seemingly empty parts. Try taking screens of areas where there are plenty of enemies, or really kooky and twisted paths and stuff. However, if those screens are the most interesting parts of your levels, then...eh...

It doesn't look bad though, we just need to see more action in it .

Very nice screens, especially the subspace ones, they look great. There are a lot of things you have to compensate in your hack for SMB2 that aren't available in SMW without heavy ASM hacking, but I just hope you're able to get in as much similarities as possible.

Although I didn't make SMW- to tell newbies what not to do, just to, well, mock them . So I'd say knock yourself out if this is something you really want to do.

Some ASM advancements would be nice, but then again, if you put in too many, then it'll just be like SMB2, so what would be the point of making the hack?

However, I don't think it'd be really easy to get in a lot of features that aren't easily transferrable from SMB2 to SMW, so I'd say yes, try to get in as many ASM features as possible.

There are so many great hackers out there, FuSoYa, BMF, etc. Are there any fan clubs for them...nope. Not that they don't deserve it, they'd just be pointless. What would be the point of a peter_ac fan club? Would everyone get newsletters everytime he makes a move? "Peter_ac releases a new screen", "Peter_ac to release demo in one week", "Peter_ac spotted in local strip bar." Not that peter_ac doesn't deserve it, but fan clubs for hackers seems pretty useless.

Feel free to start a Golden Yoshi fan club, I've got 9 hacks' worth of stuff.

Well, here it finally is. I must say, I am very happy to have the first complete Yoshi's Island hack. Yes I've said I wouldn't post anymore about this hack here, but now that it is finally done I'm hoping people will finally play it. A lot of time and effort went in to making this hack, and now I hope we can finally see a revival in YI hacking, now that there's a complete YI hack out. I hope this will prove that EggVine really is an awesome editor and that the absence of graphics isn't bad at all.

Well, I stopped talking about this hack for a while because of what happened with the World 2 demo. I got discouraged when I didn't get any replies for the last one, and I just wanted to make my levels without having any pressure. And people mentioned that they wanted to wait until the complete version because they usually don't play demos. I just hope I can now get the response I want .

Thanks...I wanted to dedicate an entire level to the morph car in 3-6, which was only used once in the original, and use a whole bunch of crazy tricks with the car. Thanks for playing people!

Anyone remember my old hack SMW The Lost Levels? No...okay. Well anyway, to refresh your memory, SMWLL was a hack that I started in November 2003. What I wanted to do with that project was, make a hack still similar to SMW, no new graphics or overworld, but completely revamped levels...kinda like the equivalent to what SMB The Lost Levels was to SMB. Like SMBLL, in SMWLL you can choose between either playing Mario or Luigi even in the 1-player. After the World 1 demo of the hack, I stopped because I saw that a lot of people were more geared towards playing ExGFX and ASM-laden hacks rather than level hacks. However, after SMW+6, I decided that gfx and ASM aren't my fortes, and that I should give my level hack another go. I received encouragement from a few people saying that SMWLL should follow through, and then I decided just to make a hack the way I want to. I've worked on this hack since last summer, so this is what I have to show for it:

This is from the first level of the Special World: Radical
(Here is an example of the different abilities for each player. Luigi can stand on those green turn blocks, while Mario passes behind them. Both players have advantages and disadvantages to this)


Here's one from Castle #6: Delilah's Castle


This hack is similar to my first hack SMW+, only no ridiculous puzzles or difficulty. I hope you all enjoy this project and have an open mind, since it doesn't have flashy gfx and ASM, just the classic SMW feel, but with brand new levels. Enjoy!

It isn't hard to switch from Mario to Luigi, there's a custom block in BLK tool that does it, so it's pretty easy to toggle between the two.

No, I meant what I said about the editor. I really do find it reliable, or maybe I'm just too damn good at editing YI .

3-3 is loosely based on Secret 5 of the GBA version, so that's why it looks familiar.

The only way you could've gotten to Lakitu's Paradise was by unlocking it, there was no alternate exit attached to Mango Heights 1. That level was for real though, I made it back when I was actually doing the hack, I think it was at that point I quit.

Meh oh well...it's April 3 already, all of you should know by now, plus craig ruined it anyway . Yep, it only goes up to 3-1, at which point you get an April Fools message. But damn, I actually think I had quite a few people going here. I never expected people to believe it . I guess the screens and the World 2 demo that. Besides making a fool out of people, I did this to get more people to play the World 2 demo, since several people said they'd rather wait until the full version (God forbid anyone play any demos anymore ). Sneaky huh?

Anyway...a belated April Fools to all of you. But this hack truly contains the World 2 demo, and if you haven't played it, go ahead and do so.
