Personally, I'd disown her (if you can't actually do that I meant metophorically ). Back-and-forth cases are utterly hopeless. I knew a woman named Debbie, had both of her kids taken away from her, and DIED half a dozen times (revived by a defibrulator). Yet she still keeps going back and forth between pretty much every addiction you can think of. Wake up calls for these people rarely make them quit completely.

I knew her kids, it killed them every time she broke her "promises". Ever since they gave up on her, they've been a lot better off. They live with their grandpa and grandma now. By the way, do you have any other relatives you can live with? Family is more likely to understand what's going on, and would be willing to lend a hand.

As for all that "he doesn't even wash the dishes" bullshit, that's so fucking irrelevant it's not even funny. Even if you manage to do all the things she listed, the list will keep getting longer until she gets you at some moot point. Drug addicts are good for two things, making money off of as a drug dealer, and EXCUSES, and that's what she's doing, making excuses. Besides, it's such a small transition from having other people do your laundry and whatever to doing your own, it's really not worth mentioning.

Another idea would be emancipation. The government helps you get a job, some money to live off of (if I'm not mistaken, it takes some of the parents' money to add to yours, like child support) a place to live, and you have some shiny new rights to go with it (keep in mind I don't know where you are, your age, or even all the specifics of emancipation, but I do know that it's a way to gain independance in a situation like yours, you should look into it).

That "just" gives the statement a slightly different meaning. He was just glad that "Immigrants aren't americans" wasn't my sole arguement.

I guess if you want him to die, that's between you and him .

Uh Slay, for the record the last four samuraix quotes you made were from him quoting my first post. So yeah, he's not joining the coast guard, still just me .

While I'm addressing you, Slay, I think it'd be good for me to point out that there's a side of me that totally agrees with you. But being stubborn and idealistic never worked for me, perhaps it's served you better.

Because my ideal involves a unified, athiestic (real word?) worldwide democracy, where everyone who decided to vote had to attend a mandatory class first, and take a test showing they know what the hell they're voting for, and not just who's the most popular (leaves room for bias in the educating, but hey, I'm being idealistic here ). Presidential campaigns would be OUTLAWED, because they're a waste of fucking money! People would make decisions based on what they know, not at how easily swayed by mudslinging they are. Oh, and there'd be another step in vetoing/passing laws, the people (sticking to the educated part, but more like a review )!

Then something about (nonviolent) population control, but I think I've already established how unrealistic and "not gonna happen" my ideals are (probably riddled with flaws anyway if by some crazy chance it were implemented).

Posted on 09-07-05 10:41 PM, in STOP FUCKING POSTING REQUESTS AND DO THE SHIT YOUR DAMN OWN SELF Link
"Help me" =/= "Do it for me".

I'm a blithering idiot and I know that much . And I think "your own damned self", just sounds better. I think this board is already kind of intimidating, then again, something subtle won't get this obviously key point to n00bs.

My humble suggestion is a page once you press the "new thread" button in the romhacking section that says:

"Are you going to make a request for someone to do a romhack for you?? If yes, you will be IP banned and BURNED ALIVE.
Is this a request for someone to do a romhack for you?

Will go to: (http://board.acmlm.org/index.php?ipbanned=1)
Will go to: (http://board.acmlm.org/newthread.php?id=x)
Will go to: (http://board.acmlm.org/index.php)"

Maybe they'll read something at least THIS intrusive and short.

(sorry, the buttons don't work )

Edits:
#1-Added the buttons
#2- Weird spelling error O_o

*re·li·gion (rĭ-lĭj'ən)
n.

1.
1. Belief in and reverence for a supernatural power or powers regarded as creator and governor of the universe.
2. A personal or institutionalized system grounded in such belief and worship.
2. The life or condition of a person in a religious order.
3. A set of beliefs, values, and practices based on the teachings of a spiritual leader.
4. A cause, principle, or activity pursued with zeal or conscientious devotion.

Yup, according to definitions 3 & 4, he's right. I'll be damned, I didn't think the un-God/Allah/Shiva&company/etc'd ones fell under that definition

But I never seem to see much trouble from the non-theistic forms (not in the sense that they are a certain religion and cause problems, but cause problems in the name of their religion). Then again, I haven't been around long, and it's been becoming more and more clear to me that I was given a horrible education ...

That Shiva & company comment wasn't offensive, was it? I'm not too learn'd on Hinduism.

So following that premise, I could create a dozen complete BS, but self containing religions, and they would hold some value, so long as there were no staggering internal self contradictions, and remained consistant with external evidence (sometimes not even then)?

Religion is here to/is used for:
#1- Put away the fear of death, teach people to accept it, even look forward to it when it comes
#2- Instill a feeling of meaning and purpose in those who cannot find their own place in life
#3- silence the wandering mind (for better or worse)
#4- (my favorite) Controlling the masses through exploitation, intimidation, guilt, and harmless unity (once again, for better or worse).
#5- Humanize the calamity of life (a diety's will or intervention, sometimes involving a master plan; as opposed to just a big number game).

You see what's happening here? These are, for the most part, the roles of a great leader, and since a real one is so hard to come by, people conjure up one or several, or follow teachings of a long since dead leader to fill holes when one is not there (even when one is there, with how strongly founded religion is now).

Pride, envy, lust, gluttony, wrath, greed and sloth. Sins now, but were seven primal urges that aided in survival in the way back when (I say sloth because the strive for it had to have had some positive effects on survival). They've been obsolete in most settings for a long time, just like that primal urge for a leader is now. Social order doesn't require a leader so much as it needs guidelines and rules (and those who enforce them), but we're still hard-wired to need one. I think need for self worth, and fear of timely death are both pretty pointless as well, but I doubt most people would agree with me there .

I will, right now go on record on saying that I firmly believe that every single existing religion is wrong, whether it makes sense or not. Divine powers, cosmic powers, gods, God, these cannot be 100% disproven, I will admit this. Just as they cannot be proven. But the chances that any of the existing religious theories are correct are so slim, Infinitesimal even, that I can confidently say that they are all false. Now I can only fairly guess about a 50% (I'd personally say 25%) chance of a true (currently followed or not) religion, as opposed to a completely logical universe, where there is no supernatural, where everything has a logical explaination, although probably impossible for humans to discover.

EDIT: F***ing typos!!!!

Malt-o-meal is all I buy man, you get the same exact thing for way less. It's not like soda, where it's cheaper, and lower quality. It's just cheaper, because they don't advertise.

Before I read the post I thought you were talking about this strange corn paste.... thing:

I think my family was like the only family that ever even heard of that stuff where I used to live... I used to eat it, it's bland as hell, but it mixes well with sweet stuff like syrups and fruit.
