Maybe you should try to get rid of mikeyk's cannons? I'm not sure why you would need extra cannons for SMBDX, since its supposed to be like SMB, SMB hacks, and SMBTLL, when they don't use the doomship cannons from SMB3.... Or ask mikeyk.

My brother's laptop has a program called the Samsung Multimedia Studio. The clip player was able to take snapshots. He got it when he bought this Samsung MP3 player. I'm not sure how you can get it besides the MP3 player. (edited by AP on 08-24-05 08:33 PM) (edited by AP on 08-24-05 08:33 PM) (edited by AP on 08-24-05 08:34 PM) |

Right click on the pic you want, go to Properties, copy the Url in Properties, and paste that in the Minipic box.

Sorry if this is in the right forum. I'm not sure where I should put this, so feel free to move this thread to the correct forum, if this isn't. Anyway, when I first opened SMB2j (FDS file) in YY-CHR, I noticed something really strange: Notice anything strange here? Besides the poor image, look at the last tiles below. It looks like unused tiles for ground blocks, and some cactus. I made pics on what they might have looked like in the game: - Cactus - Beta Ground Block 1 - Beta Ground Block 2 It seems that there is no TSA data of the cactus, or the strange ground blocks. I believe that only the graphics remain in the FDS file. I also found something else. Chek out this Japanese ad for the original. The level on the top-right corner seems to be something not found in the original. Here's a close-up of the beta level: I'm guessing this level was made before Nintendo used the orange mushroom platforms or before they used recycled levels. And here is my recreation of it: What do you think of this? I think this is pretty interesting. Originally posted by asdf I remember that SMB2j SMW tileset. I noticed the beta tiles, too! Hmm, the image's world could be x-1. I didn't really look carefully since it was so blurry. Treetop worlds do sound interesting.... I wonder what would happen if we somehow find a beta ROM, but I extrremely doubt we can. |

You may have got the very first version of the demo, in which I forgot to lock Part 2 with a password. If anyone haven't reached Part 2 yet and got the first version, redownload it so Part 2 is password lockdd.

Happy birthday, Acmlm! Thank you for providing us this great board for all of us. Thanks for including the ROM Hacking and SMW Hacking forums in your board, in which some of us can get help for ROM hacking and enjoy other's ROM hacks. Thanks for creating our ROM Hack Domain, in which your and other's hacks inspired me to ROM hack. I hope you have a great day today!

EDIT: Thanks for finding this out and helping us understand what happened. I wondered why almost everybody was pink.... EDIT 2: Ignore the striked text. It was a misunderstanding of mine upon reading this thread. (edited by AP on 08-27-05 09:38 PM) (edited by AP on 08-27-05 09:56 PM) (edited by AP on 08-27-05 09:56 PM) |

I have a few suggestions for next updates of SMBDX: 1. Try to make the Koopas like the ones in SMB/SMB3. As in when the Koopas are stomped on, they come back from their shells like in SMB/SMB3. Maybe you could do this by making the Koopas like Buzzy Beetles, except they use Koopa graphics and can be killed by fireballs (and the red ones turn back when they reach an end). 2. Change the stopped Koopa shells (and probably Buzzy Beetle shells) to be like in SMB3. Besides those things and Lakitu's cloud, this is a true masterpiece! You did a really great job with this! I'll play more of the hack later. (edited by AP on 08-29-05 12:09 PM) |
