A couple of members wanted me to register and post here, so here I am! I'm working on my own SMW hack at the moment, and have been reading the topics at the SMW hacking board since December of last year. I'll check out all the other forums, too. Nice to be aboard!

1. This never happened to me before yesterday:

I change something in one of my levels, save my level, load emulator, but the change isn't there! What can I do to fix this?

2. I used blocktool to add a certain block: "Can only pass after beating the special world", BUT they are activated once I touch the level "Star World 4" on the overworld map. Is there anyway to fix this problem?

After I get these fixed, I'll show some progress on the hack I'm working on (which a couple of you already know about/played)!

Thanks!

I haven't used a hex editor, and I just did what you told me to do, and it isn't working. It does this on all the levels. It's like the emulator isn't playing my refreshed saved rom... Funny thing is, this started happening when I loaded Lunar Magic yesterday.

Edit: I just tried another rom, and it works just fine.
Edit 2: I loaded it from another folder and it works fine. I'll just use that file instead of my old one. Now to get that Blocktool problem fixed...

Yeah, I had a .ips patch in there! LOL Thanks Sukasa!

I checked the overworld map, and it does say level 125, but it still isn't working right (it thinks 135 is the level).

BTW, should I start a new thread about my hack, or keep it in this one? Don't wanna clutter up the main board if I don't have to...

1. When using Windows XP Home a year ago, I could mute the sound on ZSNES and play WinAmp files during it and the music didn't skip.

After a file got corrupted recently, I installed Windows XP Office (couldn't find the Home disk) and now ZSNES will not let me play WinAmp files without skipping while playing a game. Is there any way to fix this?

2. All my snapshots come out as .BMP images. Where in the emulator menu is the option to change them to into .PNG files?

(I'm using V 1.36).

Thanks!

Well my hack has been in the works on and off for the past year and a half, and I'm still getting used to Lunar Magic (I still don't know much about the overworld or graphics). I know some of the people that told me to join Acmlm's board have played the older version of my hack I've released (heard some good things and some bad), and I've now added a bunch of stuff and have changed around a few things.

Here is some info:

Mini-Quest: Find Kolorado Koopa's Lost Treasure! (Will you decode the clues and find it?)
Lots of Pop Culture and other Video Game references!
Secrets, secrets, SECRETS!

Screenshots (Please be gentle!):

My very own Super Mario Land level, with some twists:

One more thing:

I recently saw the post about the "5 levels" block. If I wanted to change it into a "96 levels" block, how could I do that? Could I change the "05" in the hex editor to "96" to make it work?

I hope I'm making sense, as I've had a very rough week of work, and making my own SMW hack helps me relax.

Thanks for the comments thus far.

Actually, the Atari 2600 Adventure screen is just one little area (one screen wide), no one will probably ever find it anyways, so don't worry too much about it

I'll try some new colors with the B/W levels.

I'd post more screenshots, but imageshack is loading really slow right now.

I'm not sure how this happened (as I haven't messed with anything on the overworld), but after beating Yoshi's Island 1, the path doesn't appear anymore (But Mario still moves upwards to an invisible Yellow Switch Palace). I also see some garbled graphics near the bottom of the screen very briefly. How would I fix this? I checked an unmodified SMW rom, and my properties are the exact same as it.

Here is another problem I'm having: Coins seem to randomly disappear. Why does this happen?

Oh, and one more thing: If I sent my SMW hack to one of you guys, would you be able to see what I'm doing wrong with the blocks you can pass through when you beat the Special World (As you might know from my earlier thead, you can start walking through the blocks once you touch Star World 4 on the overworld map ). I'd REALLY appreciate it.

I didn't do any hex editing.

I did try something though:

I opened an unmodified SMW rom's overworld. Then loaded my game, and then saved the overworld to my game. The path works again, but I'll have to rename my levels and fix all the message blocks. That's going to be fun

Who knows, I might have fixed my "Special World Passed" blocks dilemma too...

EDIT: Bah. it didn't fix that last problem.

Worked like a charm, Kailieann. Thank you very much! Now to finish this up and get it released.
