I'm new here, and I've taken it upon myself to be a freelance hack tester. I've downloaded this hack and played through it as far as I could. This is a list of all the glitches I've found so far. However, I'm sure you're already aware of most of them.

-When standing on your ship, you sink one full block into it.

-When you first acquire the wave suit it says "Varia Suit."

-If you don't have the Morph Ball, you can get stuck beneath your own ship and unable to move. This isn't exactly a glitch, it's just poorly designed maps.

-In the lab area of Crateria, in the room where you first encounter sidehoppers. The background flashes white briefly before turning to normal. The pallet on the giant sidehopper is also glitchy.

-When you Spineshark out of the lab area of Crateria and through about five rooms (that totally kicked ass by the way) the background of crateria outside shows cave walls moving horizontally instead of clouds. This fixes itself once you move the current horizontal section of the background background offscreen by moving up one full screen, and then falling back down.

-When you're given a choice between two doors, one going to the green area just before Kraid, take the other door and the game freezes.

-Sometimes, when you're in the ice area, Samus' pallete will switch back and fourth from Varia to Wave suits. It also does that when speed boosting.

-Kraid, well, you already know about that.

-After taking the elevator down to the ice area, go right and continue along the path. Go through the door you need the high jump boots to reach and you'll be back in classic Norfair. Go through another two doors and it will warp you back to the underwater portion of crateria's lab area. This can be seen as an endless loop and prevents you from going any further in the game.

I have noted the following glitches in Super Metroid 2.

-When you try to travel through an area only two blocks tall, you can duck and it will pull you through. I don't know whether or not you meant to do that, but I don't like it. You should just make the passages three blocks tall so Samus can walk through them normally.

-About the X-Ray scope glitch. It seems that it will work in a room in Brinstar after you've gotten a one-of-a-kind item from that room. (items that are not missiles, super missiles, or bombs) however, if that room has no one-of-a-kind item, you can never get it to work there.

-When you go back from the room with the Screw Attack in it, you must Screw Attack through blocks to reach the narrow passage to get back up out of the room. Since you don't have bombs, you can get stuck in the blocks if they reform around you.
No way out!

Lucky thing I have the sweetest PC gamepad.
But even that's not as good as the good ol' PS2 gamepad. I'm planning on getting an adaptor so I can use that thing on the PC.

Anywho, I retract my previous statement about the X-Ray Scope glitch. It seems that if you collect all the one-of-a-kind items in that room, leave, and then go back in, the X-Ray Scope goes back to freezing the game.
So, like you said, it's probably that there are two different scanners in the room at once.

Well, this is all fine and dandy but, I'm just waiting for a finnished Super Metroid hack. There are about ten of them being worked on right now but not one of them is anywhere near completion.

What I want to see is something with a totally original map, (just erase everything and start from scratch) and significantly more difficult than the original SM. But not too difficult like Super Metroid II.

I also want to see Boss stats increased significantly, especially Ridley's. How about 60,000 HP instead of 20,000.

Well, whenever you get around to this, I can suggest something you need to do.

You need to get yourselves a *decorator*, which means, in almost every Super Metroid hack I've seen, the scenery leaves something to be desired. Everything is dull, square, with no cool looking stuff in the background or foreground. It all looks very plain kind of like an old-folks-home.
Any good Super Metroid hack needs a *decorator* to go through every room and add graphical decor like stagmites/tites, plants, backgrounds, etc. just to liven up the look of the place.

And whatever you do, avoid overuse of perfectly square/rectangular rooms. Nothing ruins the feeling of being lost in a maze of wilderness and caves quite like making the rooms look like they were made by an architect rather than natural growth & erosion.

**This will be an image intense post**

The new demo looks alot better than the old one. I especially love the plant area. The part with the walls being poisonous to the touch was ingenious. The whole place reeks of Metroid II.

I've come up with a new list of glitches, map improvements, and general suggestions for you.
This time everything will have its own screenshot since I now know how to post images to this damn board.

With this here you see that there's a line going through Samus' ship. You still sink half a block into it, but only when you're standing on the airlock

This room right here is a prime example of lack of visual appeal. Everything is perfectly square and symmetrical, and there's no decor (plants, stalagmites/tites/ fany backgrounds and foregrounds) of any kind. When you're in a cave, it goes up and down and every which ways and narrow and wide, and it all looks very random, much unlike this room which appears to have been designed by an architect, rather than erosion.

Part of the tube is in the background, and part of it is in the foreground. That doesn't look right.

This part is annoying as hell just because getting down it takes so long. Getting back up is even worse! I suggest you do something to that place.

If you fall down this pit, it's impossible to get out. You need ledges there so you don't get stuck forever.

Sometimes, when you're running underwater like this, with your gun pointed forward after you've shot a missile, the back top block of Samus' sprite will rotate.

After beating Crocomire, the little plant ledge to get back out is a bit too short. You can't jump high enough and end up standing one block inside the door.

The problem with scrolling cave instead of scrolling clouds after spinesharking to escape the lab area is still there.

It happened again after exiting the room off the top right corner of the starting area.

It seems these doors stay green even after they''ve been opened. It's purely graphical. You can open them with an ordinary beam.

You can get permanently stuck by falling into either of these pits.

This happened after I went back into Kraid's room after getting off the elevator. The lava's still there, it's just invisible.

If you would like, I can provide some absolutely sweet backgrounds for you to paste into the rom data and then use. they're all SNES backgrounds so they'l be graphically compatable.

Remember those cool backgrounds I said I had for you? Well here's one of them

This is from Gradius 3

This background can only be used or horizontal coridoors only one screen high. But you can rotate it and use it for virtical coridoors only one screen wide.

Actually that's Dan Owsen's voice.
He worked as a manager in one of the departments of NOA. He had very little to do with the production or localization of Super Metroid, but he did do the voice.
