If you look around, you'll find lots of non-Americans that are complete lazy-asses. You'll also find a lot of Americans that work really hard. Generally, people who are "different" from the majority tend to stick out, and thus it is a lot easier for you to notice them.

The League Cup trophy is often called a "Mickey Mouse Trophy", because people find the whole cup to be silly.

Some years ago, Liverpool claimed to have won a treble, just like Man Utd did in '99. Liverpool's treble, however, was the League Cup, the F.A. Cup, and the UEFA Cup. Hardly anything like winning the Premier League, the F.A. Cup and the UEFA Champions League, but, well, some fans still called it a treble.

Well, since, according to some sources, vibro blades are the forrunners to light sabers, and vibro axes existl, then, eh...

No, a light axe would simply suck, sorry.

I simply don't know what to say now. This movie tied the two trilogies together in a fantastic way, and the movie itself was awesome! All I know now is that I feel great sadness for knowing that there will be no more to look forward to, but still, I wouldn't trade the feeling I had after having seen the movie for anything in the world.

Spoiler:
I feel such sorrow for Darth Vader. Knowing his sacrifice, what caused him to abandon the Jedi and join the Dark Side, and then seeing how it was all for nothing. Also, Palpatine talking about creating life through altering midi-clorians. Is he hinting at Anakin having been created by a Sith Lord, Palpatine himself, to fulfill the prophecy as the Chosen One?

I'm gonne go have a cigar now!

I know, there are lots of them, but I couldn't seem to find any about the actual movie, so I decided to make a new one, sorry.

Spoiler:
Yes, he does fulfill the prophecy, but his entire life and all the people he loves, are wasted away, killed. That moment with Mace Windu, everything could be changed then, but in stead, he ruins everything

The Semi Finals have already started, and no one has started a thread? For shame! Anyway, I'm currently looking at it, Belarus is on, the lady sings like a dead squirrel, they won't make it to the finals. Soon we (Norway) are on, I'm hoping we'll make it to the finals. Our contribution, though quite cheesy, is something people will at least notice. Not like the guys we've been sending in the past few years; one guy with no stage act who, though having a nice voice, sings a song people have forgotten after 2 minutes. Thank God we've learned this year.

Ziff: The Ukraine is automatically qualified for the finals because they're last year's winners. They're in the finals along with 13 other countries, some automatically qualified because they're too big for EBU-UER to afford to keep them out, and some qualified because they did quite good last year. Those 14 + The 10 from the semi finals = The 24 countries in the finals.

I found it amusing reading about Britons complaining about political voting 2 years ago, claiming that the war in Iraq had to be the only reason they could possibly get nul points. No one mentioned anything about their contribution being so excrutiatingly horrible it took suckiness to a new level.

screw you lucas for ruining the entire star wars expreience because you overplayed the cruely factor. I hate you now. I guess the only upside was I got the tickets free.

Yeah, because Grand Moff Tarkin sure doesn't kill a lot of children and innocents when he has the Death Star attack Alderaan, right? It's one of the ways of the Dark Side, see?

What the fuck does evolution matter? If evolution was proven to be false, what does that have to do with anything? Tell me how you can make the logical jump from "evolution theory is wrong" to "God exists". They are two things that have nothing to do with each other. Also, if evolution was proven to be correct, would that somehow prove that God doesn't exist? Bah, you don't even have to have the slightest of interest in dialectics to realize that proving one thing doesn't disprove something else.

(and yes, I'm using the words prove, fact, and false quite losely here. Sorry for not putting what I wrote in a more sophisticated manner)

Arsenal won the FA Cup on penalties! What a rush! Great game, too! Scholes missed, giving Arsenal the victory 5-4! NO TROPHIES FOR MAN UTD THIS YEAR! HOW THE MIGHTY HAVE FALLEN! Life is great!

Bah, Greece sucked (favorites or not), Latvia was horrible (honestly, how did it get that high), Switzerland should have won, and Sweden obviously were too stupid to understand the "this year the Nordic countries give 12 points to Norway"-scheme. All in all, I'm happy about our placement, it was quite good, and, since we are the infamous "Nul Points Norway", a 9th place should be something we should be happy about.

It was funny, though, somewhere during the night, me and my friend were talking about the "big 4", and how they were doing this year, then we looked at the list, and we both went "whoa! They're all at the 4 last!". Kinda weird seeing that, indeed.

Anyway, we beat Sweden (by 95 points!), which is always the number one priority, and as an added bonus, we became the best Nordic country (though we tied Denmark, we beat them by gaining more 12-pointers).

"The countries at Balkan always vote on their neighbours"

Actually, Latvia only got 10 from Estonia this year, Switzerland got the 12. Then again, Switzerland's contribution, Vanilla Ninja, was a band consisting of a bunch of Estonian girls (which is legal, but controversial, since you don't have to be from the country you represent).

And about political/neighbour-voting, though I'm pretty sure there are quite a lot of it, some of it is also simply because neighbouring cultures have neighbouring tastes. Take Iceland giving us 12 points, you might say that they gave us that because we're neighbours, or maybe it was political, since we're both whaling countries. However, when adding the fact that Wig Wam, the Norwegian contribution this year, has been the most played band on Icelandic radio over the course of the last month, then it shouldn't be too hard to realize that it might just have been that Iceland enjoyed the Norwegian song.

Agh, my bad. I had just been reading a story about the contributions from the Baltikum, so I was kind of thinking about that when reading your post, and somehow messed up the two regions. Sheesh, how embarassing, I am, of course, fully aware where the Balkan is and where the Baltikum is.

- Guns for hunting purposes (hunting rifles, etc.)? Sure, people should be allowed to hunt, some make part of their livelyhood on it.
- Guns for sports purposes (airsoft-gun-replicas, etc.)? Sure, people should be allowed to partake in passtime-activities they like. Though sports such as airsoft and paintball should have an age limit of 18. I think we can all agree that children being taught to shoot at others with fairly accurate replicas (airsoft-guns are acurate, anyway) may not be adult enough to realize the difference between pretend-killing and actual killing (though, of course, whenever someone starts a sentence with "I think we can all agree...", someone simply has to come along and disagree, no?)
- Guns for collecting purposes (WWII guns, etc.)? Sure, people should be allowed to pursue their hobbies, and some take a keen interest to old guns and weapons.
- Guns for protection (handguns, etc.)? Nope. I don't believe guns offer protection. In a situation when someone is pointing a gun at you, when is he most likely to shoot you? When he feels threatened by you, only then would he have a reason to become a murderer. What would make him feel threatened by you? Well, when you pull your gun you have a tendency to suddenly seem a lot more threatening in most people's eyes. There are also way too many accidents involved with guns being employed for protection. People shooting their neighbour coming over to borrow a cup of sugar, or parents killing their kids sneeking in at home at two in the morning, and other deaths because of misunderstandings and accidents. Besides, allowing the people to carry their own guns will be one step in the direction of creating a lawless vigilante society, something I for one would like to be without.

I've never seen a handgun. I have a friend who's into airsoft and he has some gun replicas for playing airsoft, but I've never seen an actual gun (and, nope, policemen don't carry guns here. They have weapons at the police station, but the police will only wield those weapons if a situation should occur where they would need them (which really isn't that often)). The first time I saw a rifle was when I was 17, the year I lived in Texas. Though, I do come from Norway's number one moose-hunting county, but I've always been more of a city boy, so I've never been out hunting.

Most young Norwegian men do get to handle guns for a year though (and the apropriate training), since we have conscription in this country, but I got out of that, because of my allergies...

Ok, that is just horrible. 2 goals in the last 2 minutes? I would be kicking myself so hard were I a Celtic-fan. My condolences, Colleen.
