Hehe, thanks you all! (First of all, though, Capital Z, damnit! ) I did all the drinking yesterday, mind. It's better to do so at Saturdays, when there's no school the day after. When the clock passed midnight, however, and it was May 23rd officially, all my friends wished me happy birthday. Today was kind of a disappointment, though. I woke up with a hangover, and my mom had bought me one of those cards that make sound when you open them (the evilness!). Other than that, she bought me a DVD, some beer-glasses (for when I move out on my own), and a book on the democrazisation process in Iraq (and she also gave me some money). After that, I went to Oslo, to see the Lyn vs. Troms (edited by The SomerZ on 05-23-04 06:16 PM) |

I'm against gun-ownership, however, I find the options in this poll rather one-sided and immature. The problem with public ownership of guns is that untrained people who pocess guns do stupid things with them. Lots of accidental deaths have been caused by people who don't know how to operate a gun, and, call me na

(What's The Story) Morning Glory? by Oasis is the best album ever. From the very beginning with Hello, through the hit songs Wonderwall and Don't Look Back In Anger, to the beautiful ending with Champagne Supernova, this album is perfect all the way through.

Clinton enjoys a whole lot of respect in Europe. Bush, on the other hand, is extremely hated by most Europeans. The American-European relationship has gone very sour in a very short time because of Bush.

Who cares whether the lyrics contain swearwords or not? Does it make the lyrics more cool? Bah, the only thing that matters is if whether the music is good or not, which, in Slipknot's case, would be not.

Kind of inspired by the Fast Food Chain poll that we had (only about types of food, instead, and with a little more options ) Hard to choose, huh? I kinda have a hard time settling on either Hot Dogs or Kebabs. Hot Dogs are great when bought from gas stations on long trips, but nothing beats a Kebab after a night out. Pizza is also great, but more as a meal, than as a simple takeout when you just want something to snack on... So, yeah, it's hard to choose. (Oh, and before anyone starts nagging, I know completely well that China is a part of Asia, so "Chinese or Asian" may sound odd, but I figured I'd specify Chinese outside of the rest of Asia, since China's cuisine is pretty big in the takeout-world.) Snatch, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Ocean's Eleven. All good movies.

Well, I've seen that in many movies and TV-shows, and always thought it was odd. If you think about it, when they write "Starring Uma Thurman, Lucy Liu, Vivica A. Fox, Michael Madsen, Darryl Hannah, and David Carradine as "Bill"", what they're technically saying is that they all star as "Bill".

The best way is to simply pay attention in class. I pay attention, and then I don't really have to study to get good grades.

Actually, I couldn't care less whether or not they release any more CDs or not. If people want to listen to them, fine, they may listen to them and buy their CDs. I, however, find them bland, and dull, and generally not good, so I wouldn't buy their CDs. Still, that doesn't mean others shouldn't be allowed to buy their CDs...

Commercial success does not necessarrily equal musical talent. One great example of that is Liz Phair. Her debut album, Exile in Guyville, has been proclaimed one of the most influental albums of the 90's by many critics, and it also received excellent reviews. She also paved the way for the success of many female artists following her. Still, despite all that, she never had any commercial success (her album sold ok in the United States, and is almost unheard of outside the US). Oh, and in the nature of the person who started this thread. If you listen to songs only for their explicit lyrics, you'll love Liz Phair. Only, I find that she manages to use swearwords in a much more elegant manner than many other musicians. The explitives are not in her lyrics simply to make them more controversial, but they are there because they fit so perfectly. |

I never said it didn't add controversy. Hot White Cum is controversial (and very good), but I find her use of swearwords in this song and others a lot more elegant than some bands who simply adds an f-word here or there (not saying this is necessarrily Slipknot, though. )

OMG, like, I was going to wish you a happy birthday, but couldn't find you nowhere. My tip, forget the gambling, that way, you'll have more money for the booze. Go for beer, lots of it. The kind of drunkeness you get when all you've had is heaps of beer is the best drunkeness! |

Yeah, I'd say football (the real kind, not the American kind) has the most violent rivalries. Let's see, Ajax and Feyenoord fans schedule meetings in Dutch fields so they can have street fights. Certain football matches in South America nearly always result in deaths of supporters, or at least heavy beatings. English and German supporters don't go well together during big tournaments. The list goes on and on. |

Mr. Rod Markham, an Australian researcher, has sent a letter to FIFA asking that they ban heading from football games! Why don't we just go ahead and stop playing football altogether, hm? Without heading, the game loses a lot. "Corner means goal," is an old Norwegian saying. I'd like to see anyone score on a corner if they're not allowed to head the ball. Crosses would be pretty much dead, altogether (yeah, it is possible to score on a volley, of course, but no one would want to try for a cross anymore, anyway). The game would all in all be radically changed. If FIFA accepts Mr. Markham's proposal, well, it'd be a heavy blow to football.

You remember the times you got it right, simply because you did get it right, but those times you don't get it right, you never think about it or remember it. That's why it seems as if you get it right a lot. That's the explenation I've heard from some experts regarding these kinds of things, anyway. |

Well, if beer is not your type, mr. NSNick, then I say, go for a Flatliner. It's a mix of Sambucca, Tequila, and Tabasco. Very good. Toxic: It's Vodka Martini, and it tastes horrible. Martini (or any other Vermouth) is good alone, Vodka is ok alone, but I don't like the mix. And stay clear of Gin, it's Satan's own making, that. |

Just bought this 5-dvd collection of the Monty Python Trilogy (The Holy Grail, Life Of Brian, and The Meaning Of Life) + extra features. Me and my friends saw The Meaning Of Life today, since I haven't seen that one in a long time, and they hadn't seen it. Such a great movie, they're all great movies. And this collection is quite possibly one of the most important DVD-collections of all times (sorry Americans, I'm afraid I think it's only available in Europe). Well, I'll be sure to watch a whole load of Monty Python in the near future! *shameless gloating* |
