Rom hacking groups always suffer the weirdest problems...  Right now, rom hacking as a whole seems to be dying, only people who are active with it seem to be pokemon kids and smw newbies. And then DD releases a SMB3 mutilation (but it's a GOOD mutilation. ) and then the kids want to copy him. Hmm... is it only the kids? Hehe, the newbies are always so afraid of hex editors.  Anyway, DES has a new host (supposedly), but it's not ready yet. My editors are on zophar.net though, so that's fine I guess. Edit: I'm not saying trying to copy DD is bad. I'm just saying you have to admit that there are a few newbies that try to mimic him, but don't do that good of a job. (edited by Drag on 07-19-04 06:01 PM) |

| In Shadowgate, where you kill the wyvern with a star. A star. You somehow "launch" the star, it becomes like a fireball or something, and the wyvern explodes into pieces when it hits him. I don't know, but I also don't care why that should make sense. You'll notice a good LOT of old games don't make sense. But the thing I'm complaining about is that we're all spoiled with storylines now. If there isn't a storyline, or the storyline doesn't make sense, people will hate (?!?!?!) the game. Another good example is City Connection, where if your car runs into a cop car, it explodes and turns into hearts. I also hate that damn cat! Oh well.Another thing from Shadowgate is that supposedly you're a knight, so you don't have a backpack or something, yet I'm able to carry 15 torches, a spear, a shield, 5 rocks, a slingshot, a sword, a talisman, 4 keys, a horn, a flute, a staff, a blade, an arrow, some kind of weird jem, while wearing a gauntlet, glasses, and a heat cloak. |

| You know, the parents in question were probably growing up in like the 60s and 70s, so of COURSE they think games and stuff are evil, because they grew up when it was a very perfect time. They expect things to not have changed. They expect it to be the perfect utopia it was 30 years ago. Times have changed, and none of the older people want to accept it. Just because my mom could turn her school projects in early, before it was due, doesn't mean I can do that now. Just because rainbows and hippies were in back then, ABSOLUTELY doesn't mean they're in now. (thank goodness.  )Well anyway, if I were to somehow become a parent, right now, in the current times, like suddenly jump from 16 to 32, I woulnd't blame violence on games, because I play games all the time, and I know FOR AN ABSOLUTE FACT they don't make me violent. The WORST thing that may happen is that I go "DAMMIT DKJR, EAT THE WATER!", but I won't throw the controller at the TV or anything, or take it out on anyone. |

Even for those who never watch the scorebar (which is really a stupid way to play, but sometimes can't be helped), a few loud beeps when your health drops below a certain level will suffice. Maybe even flash the health bar. It's not necessary for the game to emit a constant loud siren! It's the most annoying thing ever! I always have to turn the sound off when that happens, and then I don't get to hear the cool music. Who's 'we'? Did you take a survey? I do agree a LOUD LOUD ZELDA SIREN is no good, but what about the quiet one in Metroid 2? If I made a continuous warning beep, I would make it beep loud like twice or three times, then either stop, or quiet down and slow down to a rate of a quiet beep every three seconds. Another reason they may make it obnoxious like that is so you try to AVOID IT. >> The real problem is the 4 Swords game. The manual says 2-4 players. That means you can have 2 or 3 players, with the AI controlling the remaining Links, right? So why not 1-player with 3 AI players? It's getting to where you can't beat (or sometimes even play) games these days until you buy another game, another console (or another of the same one) and an incredibly overpriced cable to connect them. !!!! Have you played the game?!?! If you play four swords with less than four players, there will be an alternate level that is loaded which has conditions readjusted to the number of players available. There are no AI Link characters whatsoever, thus no 1 player mode. You've missed the point of the game entirely. There'd be LOTS of dragons. If you were a dragon, you would most definately not be alone. A zoo? Dragons are MUCH too dangerous to be put in a zoo. They could easilly wipe out anyone who would try to capture them. |

| I happen to have my NES hooked up right now, let me check my adapter (which is the official one. ) Input: 120v 60Hz 17W Output: AC9V 1.3A And now you know. This is for use with the NTSC nes. Also, NSNick, I'm looking for someone who has figured out how to fix the vertical stripe problem that all toploader NES's have. So far, there doesn't seem to be anyone who has successfully found a universal fix for it, short of sending it to Nintendo to have them replace the PPU (which they WILL do. They're so cool like that. )Anyway, getting back on topic... Power adapter. There, that gets us back on track. |
