I have yet to break my personal record of 20 posts in a day. It'd be a MIRACLE if I got Reinfors Syndrome. I didn't know about Anya Syndrome, so it must've been recent. I'm just a slow poster. (I don't even have 100 yet. ) |

My previous computer chair has been loose for like a year now, and even when one side started coming apart, I still used it anyway. Well, just a few weeks ago, I sit down, lean back, the back comes off, I fall back, the chair collapses on top of me, and my back hits the (carpeted) floor with a thump. I laid there for a while, because I just got some weird sensation after it happened. After that, I "borrowed" my brother's computer chair (which is like mine, except a little different), and I use that now. No, I wasn't hurt. |

I usually don't get sick either. (I don't even get the hiccups anymore. ) The last major illness of mine was an ear-infection which did funny things to my balance, and a sore throat. Anything with citric acid will hurt like MAD on a sore throat! |

Try FLStudio. ...What? Did I SAY 'fruity loops'? Other than that, I don't know anything else Basically, I'm saying you're better off just learning FL, since it's the only program that I know of that can do this easily... (edited by Drag on 03-18-04 03:55 PM) |

Two questions: What is he summoning, and what does he 'morph' into at the end? I've seen this animation before, and I like it because I still have yet to figure out how to make a gif have THAT HIGH of a frame rate. |

Congratulations, Squash Monster! You completed Detour exactly how I intended you to. Once I learn C++, I may port this to C++ to speed it up a bit, and so I can have more flexibility with the code. (Read: Bug fixes. ) (edited by Drag on 03-18-04 08:35 PM) |

Basically, I'm interested in learning C++, and I would like to know how to start. I know how to program, so learning C++ would basically just be learning the language, and then I'd be set. So, I have a few questions. Is C++ a program, or is it a compiler? Can I debug my C++ program like I can in VB? (When an error comes up, it goes to the code screen and highlights what's wrong) Would this be what MS Visual C++ is? Would it be more effective if I wrote my code in raw notepad, or in Visual C++? Is Visual C++ the right name? Is C++ an object oriented programming language like VB, or is it straight top-to-bottom + modular programming like QB is? Is C++ MUCH FASTER than VB and QB? Why, if there is a reason? (Just out of curiosity. ) What are *.c and *.h (or whatever) files? Will you give me a sandwich if I ask for one? Can you make it ham and cheese? Those are basically my main questions, and if there is anything else that I should know, please tell me! Thanks a lot! |

Yeah, I thought PHP looked like C when I first looked at the code. Actually, anything with semicolons, {} and () in if/while/switch(select case) statements looks like a beyond-basic programming language to me. I like it. I think C++ and I will make a great team! I'll probably get Visual C++ because of the debugger however. Hopefully it won't crash randomly like VB5 does. I'm really getting interested in this now... hopefully the raycaster program I programmed in VB will run MUCH faster or smoothly in C++. Ken Silverman programmed his 3d graphic routines in qbasic (slow slow slow), and then when he ported it to C++, it went MUCH faster. People say C++ is really confusing / hard. I really don't think it could be that hard or confusing after you learn the language, because if it's hard or confusing, it's mostly because the user's PROGRAMMING skills are novice or beginner. I remember I have a cd called "Tricks of the Mac Game Programmer Gurus" (has a lot of game demos and it came in a huge book full of programming tricks, stuff, and code), and that's when I saw a LOT of code that looked like C (it probably was. Compiled C and C++ code can run on anything with a processor, can't it? Hello GP32 programming! ). I was like 8 at the time, so you can imagine I couldn't understand a single bit of that. Like I said, I'm HOPING that the only part that'll be even slightly challanging will be learning the language itself. Programming, itself, is easy for me. I hope I LOVE C++! (So much anticipation... not even ASM scares me anymore. ) Thanks for the information guys! Keep it coming if there's more! (edited by Drag on 03-19-04 09:20 PM) |

I ripped the multi-colored stoney font from the SNES version of Lemmings. They were compressed, but if you look around in the rom, you can change level titles around, and it uses standard ASCII too! Yeah, I second the custom levels thing, because 15 levels isn't really enough to enjoy the game to its full capacity. ...I SWEAR I'll fix the bugs when/if I port this to C++. |

Here's a good one. I ate STRAIGHT McDonalds ALL DAY one day... That is definately something I will never do again. Another thing... Ever have that morning where you discover you slept on your arm / back / foot wrong? That's fun for the FIRST week, and then it just gets old. ...still, It would have been kinda refreshing to see someone get a laugh out of me falling down with a collapsing chair. |

I like tunafish and mayo! Ham and cheese! (All melty! ) PORKROLL!! Porkroll sandwiches pwn u! And I like peanutbutter and blueberry jam too. Hoagies. BIG MEATY HOAGIES! Eat one of those babys and you won't want any more food for HOURS! Also, Philly Cheesestake sandwiches (long sandwiches) are the bomb, biznatch! I like the ones Quisnose makes, because they're sweet, but any other philly cheesestake sandwich is awesome too. Try one! So, uhh... I guess I like a lot. |

Well, the old thread is gone, and I don't remember the url for the site, and I don't know where this'd go because our irc forum is gone. Netho went down, and I have no working alternative server entries. So what are ALL of the current Acmlm / Gamepit IRC servers that are working? (edited by Drag on 03-20-04 02:44 PM) |

My avatar is a section of a dragon picture, because I'm a dragon fanatic. I love dragons! (I used a different dragon picture in the beginning, but then I used this one.) My layout is just something that evolved from a simple table layout I used when I first joined way back. It only uses 5 images: the 4 rounded corners, and the post bg. I kept this layout because I like it, it's pretty good, everything is readable (even if homestead goes down, which it never does. ), and the header is 1337 bytes in size (not intentional. ) sigsize.php says I'm 6th for the biggest layout, which may or may not be a good thing. (It doesn't matter, because of the way layouts are stored, but back on the earlier versions of the board, the layout got saved with the post, so it would've gotten quite big. |

DANI!!! I'm so glad to see you!! Does this mean you're back at the board for a while? I'm sorry Dani, I don't know the answer to the riddle. Behead? Are we talking about the object or the name? Is it a stable like ||bass says? |

That's a real virus, but those are temporary omnisecure files, and those files are gone shortly after they're created, so you don't need to worry about CodeRed. I kept having that problem with OmniHttpd, and so did Acmlm. | |||

1024 x 768 @ 75hz. It's been like that for a few years now. I started with 800x600, and something on this board (I forget what it was) made me want to go 1024x768. I like it. If you're a programmer like me, we tend to be disorganized with our mini-windows, and a lot of screen surface area is nice. (except I'm not disorganized, and a higher resolution lets me see more code at a time. ) My monitor doesn't screech, buzz, hum, or anything. My c64's monitor (Commodore 1902 (model number, not a year. )) has that classic oldschool monitor screech though, but your ears adjust to it, because when there's an image on screen, the screech goes higher. I really can't see why some people use 60 hz on a crt... too blinky! |
