You can BASE your hack off of other hacks, like DW:TLC, but if you can put any music in your hack, oh yeah, WITHOUT ASM, tell us, and we will shower you with fortune and glory - but I think you lose there. And you said you wanted a tutorial on Lunar Magic? Open lunar magic, go to Help -> Contents. There you go! (edited by SoNotNormal on 08-12-05 02:25 PM) |

Yeah, sorry, my bad. Oh, I looked at the email, and it's not legoman, unless they're using two different emails. I was wondering that at first too |

I added a ripped BG/FG to my castle level, and now I can't change what my my sprite GFX is - it's stuck on the cave GFX - I went to Change index of graphics header, but FG on Castle 1, and Sprite GFX on Castle but nothing changes - how do I fix this - all I really care about is the sprtie GFX though - thanls

Nice, but it's just a teensy bit hard to read - is that BG Death Egg Zone from sonic? It looks pretty sweet.

If I'm correct, I think it requires a lot of ASM hacking - and I don't think you're ready for that if you just started - heck, most of the people on the board don't even know how, so they just use the BGs and stuff that other people make. That's what you should probably do too. But that's just my suggestion. You can try, but it will be hard. |

Bio: He was joking - he was being sarcastic. Why the hell would everyone keep a music program and not let one person have it. And we all know that there is none yet . . Wow - I never really noticed - Wikipedia has everything. I mean, I look up Super Mario World, it gives me a whole description of it. . . |

Well, I just finished making the Blue Switch Palace, and I'm having a few problems. 1) When you see the switch inside the level, the bottom half of it is cut off. It only shows the top half of the blue switch. 2) After you beat the level, it shoots out yellow blocks instead of blue blocks. But the blue outlines still become solid even though yellow blocks shoot out. Can anyone help me out? Thanks |

Hmm, thanks, but my blue palace is on the one whose palette is set to shoot blue blocks - the forest submap - but it still shoots yellow. Maybe the palette on my forest is wrong - I'll check.

I found out my switch palace switch was on a screen boundary, forgot to look there first As for problem two, I haven't tried the palette yet - I should probably do it now. . . |

I don't like the background of the cave - sorry, it just kinda looks like garbled GFX to me. You should change it around a bit. Floor doesn't look bad, but maybe change the palette on it. And the BG above that looks good, but the bush at the bottom looks odd - nice job though

Afternoon all, I have just completed World 2 on my hack, and I'd just like to post some more screenies, and give thanks to a bunch of people who helped me through my troubles. Soo...First I'd like to give a special thanks to smwedit and Ice Man, who are awesome rippers, and made great BGs, and FGs. Secondly, a very special thanks to Smallhacker, who would always answer my questions, and make sure I knew what I was doing . And finally, thanks to everyone else at Acmlm's, who are all very smart people, and produced very great hacks, and helped me with all my problems. So once again, thanks guys, and if I missed anyone, PM me, and I'll put you in my credits. But am I finished? Of course not? I still have 6 and a half worlds to go Anyway, before I post to screenies, I have a question. Would anyone be willing to test this as soon as I release a demo? I test each level about 20 times, but I want to see if anyone else has pro eyes. So please, when you reply to screenies, could you post an answer. Thank you. And . . . finally *looks at empty chairs and tumbleweed* err, SCREENIES!! *crowd rushes back in* 2-4: Death Glade Screen 1 - Lots of vines in this SMB2-esque level Screen 2 - Can you get to the block door with the P-switch? 2-5: GHOST HOUSE: Final Resting Place Screen 1 - Bullet Bills, Boos - and layer 2 scrolling! Screen 2 - Elevators and bullet bills make this a tough climb. Plus, the layer two Yoshi coin Screen 3 - Everything you see layer two scrolls - well, most of it anyway. 2-6: Indigo Cave Screen 1 - Spring to the top and cross the lava - but it's not as easy as you think. Screen 2 - There's the key - where's the keyhole? Screen 3 - More creative ways to hit blocks - but how do you get out? 2-7: Magnus Von Grapple's Castle (THE best of my levels, THE cream on the cake) Screen 1 - Welcome to the castle courtyard - Magnus has set up lots of traps to welcome you. Screen 2 - The inside, complete with Yoshi's Island blocks. The Thwomps will try to crush you everywhere, so use that to your advantage. *OMG LOL UBER HINTXORZ* Screen 3 - A confused plumber needs your help. No invisible note blocks anymore, they are, like, SO world 1. Screen 4 - La la la, keep on going - note the long path under Mario . . . Screen 5 - the final climb, and M.V.G's tightest security - turrets, bony beetles, dry bones, and high ledges. Can you make it through the final depths of this level? 2-8: Boggly Palace - WHAT?? Sorry. You're not allowed to see these pictures - you have to get here yourself. I hope you guys like them. I know they are not perfect, but I'm sure the castle is *grin* Thanks again guys *note: I am very bad at making speeches. So don't laugh* EDIT: Ok, I switched hosts, at freewebs now, but was in a rush, so didn't feel like sorting them all out. You can view each one individually, that way they aren't all crammed togther. I was kind of in a rush too, so I didn't add comments explaining each one. But they are there - they are visable (edited by SoNotNormal on 08-15-05 02:32 PM) (edited by SoNotNormal on 08-15-05 03:37 PM) (edited by SoNotNormal on 08-15-05 03:37 PM) (edited by SoNotNormal on 08-15-05 03:48 PM) |

Screen 1: Nice background is Yoshi's Island 5-8 I think. Screen 2: Not bad, but if you're going for an EXACT copy of SML6GC, the path going to the right shouldn't be there. Leave the red dot, but in the actual Game Boy version, you can't see the path. Screen 3: Good Screen 4: Good, but I don't like the palette on the ground - that's just me though Screen 5: See screen 4 comment. Looks great. Fix the OW, and it will be great. Keep up the good work. |

1. Fixed 2. Palette changed 3. Thank you - but that was smwedit's work. That was before I learnt how to rip 4. I never really understood how to only copy part of the palette - the blocks I need. If I knew how to only copy the FG of the palette, I could fix it. 5. I just drew the red ? on as a little joke, in MSPaint, as in Mario being confused. It's not in the actual hack, don't worry 6. Fixed. Thanks for the comments, I'm glad you liked them. EDIT: Woah, funky BG - I like it, I like it alot (edited by SoNotNormal on 08-15-05 04:02 PM) |
