45. A level where you only have a few seconds to start and you need to keep eating time berries with Yoshi. 46. A fortress where instead of having Reznor at the end, you get a key at the very beginning, and you have to get it to the keyhole at the end, going through a variety of puzzles (example, spin jumping on Thwomps, podobos, or P-Switches. 47. A level where you must use conveyor belts to get through, by ducking, dropping P-Switches or spring boards on them. 48. A secret level filled with coins Those are all can think of right now. |

I'm sure you never thought this would be asked - but sadly, I get the title of being the first *dunce hat on* How the hell do you use Blocktool? I just can't seem to get it working for me. Read the help file, but still didn't get it. Could someone please tell me how to get the blocks into my hack? Thanks a lot | |||

All right, so from what I gathered, Solar Soundtrack is basically gonna allow us to put any music we could ever want in our hacks, right? So we could put Mario 64 music, or Final Fantasy music, or whatever we want, am I correct, or wrong? | |||

Well, thats still A LOT better than typical SMW music - besides, the best VG music ever was from SNES games, like Chrono Trigger, the Final Fantasy series, and other Mario games. So it shouldn't be too hard to make a great sounding game | |||

I like all the screenies, but yoshi's island seem a bit plain. Maybe add some scenery, a pool of water in the middle or something? And yeah, your status bar is tough to read unfortunately. But not bad so far | |||

I can test them both if you want pete, becuase those two (along with SMW of course) have been my favourite games since I was 4, and I know every level off my heart . Plus, I could prolly spot the glitches well. Let me know though | |||

1. In SMB1, in cave levels, I noticed when you hit blue bricks, the colour screws up on them. 2. In 8-4, like D-4 in SMBLL from what I've heard, the second pipe takes you to a bonus room then 1-1 again. 3. In 8-1, when I pick up the second koopa after it's been squished, I die. Just by touching the shell. 4. In levels with snow, the snow vanishes when it hits coins - looks kinda odd .. These are all I have spotted so far. (edited by SoNotNormal on 08-05-05 04:28 PM) |

How about a ghost house with elevators and bullet bills - like scrolling layer 2 platforms that move up and down and meet with others to climb the level and avoid obstacles. It could be used in a ghost house tower type thing. Plus, you could make booby traps along the way . . I did it, so it can be done. | |||

But what would be the point of having the big power-up at the end of the game? Since you probably won't want to play it twice, unless you've found all the exits, it would be pretty pointless. Unless, of course, the power-up is something you need to get other exits. Maybe put four switch palaces at the end of a hard level so you can unlock a secret world with them? |

No, I'm not using ExGFX for my background. Remember in the bonus areas when Yoshi gets wings in a certain level? And Vanilla Dome 4? That is the space BG I mean - but everytime I put it in my level, it says to use it correctly, make sure BG = 0C is loaded or whatever. As soon as I do that, the BG works, but the Tetris FG goes garbled. Dunno how to fix that - so I'll prolly have to find the cloest resemblance to a space BG in the ExGFX workshop. | |||

Here's a comment for you - I LOVE the OW . . no really, I'm serious Like how you make it SMB3. Oh, and you want ideas for the endings of 8-4 and D-4 - umm, ok, how about . . "Thank you, Mario. You saved me once again from the evil Bowser, and restored peace to the land. Way to go." or "Oh, thank you Mario. You are my hero! Now, let's get out of this foul place, and never return." It doesn't look bad at all - sadly, I really don't like the BG on the title screen - it looks - blotchy, I dunno, I just don't like that palette for the cave. OW looks nice, but the bottom-left corner seems much too plain. Add a cliff, or a tree, or something. And fix up those few spelling errors you have. Other than that, it looks decent - a bit more work, and it may turn out very nice. EDIT: Just noticed a few glitches. The rope pallette in one of your small screenies - the corner tiles aren't ropes. Did that in my hack, fix it. Also, the pic with all the doors - looks too confusing, and the pipe is on a screen boundary - making the colour go double. EDIT 2: Last edit, I promise, but I also noticed that the arrow signs are much too bright, and you can't see the arrow on them very well at all. *examines screenshots for a minute* I haven't rated these yet - so I'm going to now. I think they are fantastic - but it must have taken AGES to get all the ExGFX files together, and the worlds exactly the same, even the sprites and stuff. I'm gonna assume it uses SMB3 music too. I'm sure this post is old, but they are definitely worth rating. I take my hat off to you . . . great job! | |||
