Oh sweet, now I finally get my chance! But I'd better stay on topic. I've been playing around with the code in YI a little, and I found the offset for the code. I haven't changed it, but I'm pretty sure I know where it is. If you were to disable it, it might help with the cheating factor. Or you could make it so you have to enter a different combination, then make a secret room (like Sluggy's fort) and hide a box there containing the code. I'll test the offset - BTW, I think it's xF33E9, because there is a TON of data there that is overworld data . .yet, the overworld data is in that area. But don't edit it until I confirm the code thing works Ill try it now Or you can leave it the way it is EDIT: Damn. It's a good thing it was a fresh ROM. Ahh, Kirby's Adventure was great on the NES, now it's being hacked. I love the BG in the second one, and I love that you made the OW with SMB3 Icons. You even have mushrooms, spinies, and many other Mario things too. I can't believe you're not gonna finish it . . I won't take it over, I've already got two hacks on the go, but whoever does, I hope you put as much effort and time as Sgraff did | |||

Yeah, I tried. Like I said, the overworld goes poof when I do that. The only offsets I would REALLY like to find though, are the colour codes for the level select areas, and the button output for the code screen. If I can figure out those, then I would be golden (no pun intended ) I hope I can spiff up my hack . . it needs some spiffing |

It looks nice, but I don't like 2 things . . 1. The title screen is kinda plain - I mean the one with the bullet bills, I dont really like it. 2. The OW is WAAAAAY too sqaure. Well, most of us are in school now . . and that means homework and such. We won't always have time to help that exact day, but most of us will if you give us a few. If you would have posted this in the summer, I'm sure a ton of people would have happily offered their assistance. But don't feel discouraged, someone will always reply, even if its not of the first day. Trust me on that | |||

If anyone has played the hack, they will know that this guy has some VERY good ideas for his first hacks . . I mainly played the castle one, and I have some comments, but also a TON of glitch reports. 1. Great idea with Dry Bones on the spikes in Platform Chaos 2. Ditto with the Star area 3. I also thought the ending of Platform Chaos where you bounce off the note blocks was cool. 4. Nice idea with the Thwomps in Climbing Castle 5. Cool idea with Grinders in the Flooded Castle Now, for the glitches . . you'd better fix these, though they are all fairly minor. 1.Glitched ground in a few places of n00b castle. 2. The stairs after midway in Castle of Thwomp are all pretty messed up against the normal ground. 3. Every single level I've played, the Ball And Chains are cut off. 4. The switch palace tileset is missing edge tiles. 5. After you hit the yellow switch, the switch goes messed up. Change the Sprite GFX to fix it. 6. Same goes for the blocks in the message window after you hit the switch. 7. Bad hopping bowser statue GFX in Platform Chaos. 8. When you shoot a fireball, it goes really horrible in Platform Chaos. Shoot one and see what I mean. 9. Ugly palette and BG colour in Climbing Castle. Fix them both. 10. Most of the climbing koopas heads near the end are cut off . . please fix them somehow. 11. The fishbone colour in Flooded Castle is yucky 12. The message after you beat Iggy just says "Text" 13. Bad Dry Bones GFX in Stringer Castle. Thats all I've played so far. Fix those glitches, and it will be very nice. Keep it up, my friend |

I'm now going for the SECOND complete YI hack, and I have a feeling I might just do it . . I'm having a lot of fun with it, and I feel like sticking with it So here is my first world complete . . GoYo has been my beta tester (thanks a lot), but if anyone else wants to play it (and I hope you do), then the link it below. The Demo NOTE ABOUT SCREENIES!!! READ BEFORE FLAMING! Levels 1-1 and 1-2 screenies are a couple pages back . . shouldn't be too hard to find. Levels 1-3 to 1-6 are in the General Project Screenshot thread, on page 15 I believe. And 1-7 and 1-8 are secrets . . play and find them out. A FEW GLITCHES I ALREADY KNEW! DO NOT COMPLAIN! 1. The intro screen is horribly messed up right now. PLEASE don't tell me that, I already know. 2. One of the GFX in the Salvo battle is messed up. Don't tell me this either. But the rest, if you find any, I don't know about them. Please give it a shot, and let me know what you all think of it. Thanks again! EDIT: I'm sorry . . I didn't notice the large size of the IPS . . cut me some slack here please, next time it'll be smaller, I promise EDIT 2: Fine, since I'm feeling nice, here's a couple screenies for you all. Takes me an hour to fall asleep . . when it takes me more, I typically get annoyed, knowing I have school in the morning, and Ill wake up tired. An hour is good . . most people don't fall asleep instantly, but if you start getting over 4 or 5 hours to get to sleep every night, you might want to do something about it. But if it's only an hour, you're ok. Don't worry | |||

I do . . I do like that idea. But it sounds a bit tricky. The ROMs have to know exactly what to do. Like if you were to start the future ROM first, you would end up in an old folks home (as you say) but if you were to start it up after you did some events in the past ROM it would be different. And what would happen if you start the past ROM when you're supposed to be on the future ROM? It seems like a good idea, but to someone like me, it seems advanced. |
