In SDW:TLC, how do you beat castle 7, the pipe one? I got to the part with the gooma-only blocks, but I don't know how to pass them.

By the way, I'm not really familiar with those blocks, so if it's really obvious or something, I'm sorry, but never seen those blocks until now. Any help please?

Palette for what? Sprites? Objects? Layer 2? Be more specific.

And besides, they are al inside EggVine. Just go to EggVine, go to Level -> Edit Header. All the palettes and tilesets are right there

If you don't pick the Dark Ages, I'll kill you Just kidding. If this has already been a poll earlier, then close this. I just wanted to see what era people liked.

Yeah, there was something about Zeal that just made it the best - its like it had a storyline of it's own - with Schala, Janus, the Queen, the Gurus, Dalton, etc. It's like they put more time into that one over the other eras - though I thought future was pretty sweet too

Ahh, yeah, I don't think you can change that, the game is set to have the yoshi colours at certain level (1 = green, 4 = yellow, 8 = dark blue, etc.) I think the offsets are there, but it would be a bit annoying you change . .

Alternately, you could just open it up in YY-CHR or TLP and edit the colours of yoshi yourself.

That overworld looks awesome - really, thats like my favorite part. Love the BG in level 1 - screen 2 though, it doesn't look like you used an end tile on the right side . . if you did, then it doesn't really look like it.

But great work so far, I'd love to see more screenies as you get them done.

Exactly. They think making a hack is all easy, like "olololol put dis tile her end dis 1 her" but it's a lot more than that. I'm currently trying to learn ASM, but do you see me saying *TEACH ME ASM OR DIE"? People want the people to make it all, and then they add 1 tile or 2, and call it their work. Maybe even 3 or 4 if they get really dedicated

I had someone on MSN (will not disclose the name) invite me, and told me to make the hack for them. Boy, were they rude about it to. I just blocked them
But the point is, make your own hacks. It isn't easy. If you can't do it, either don't do it, or learn by asking questions, not asking people to do it for you

This will probably never get read though. It's a sticky. Sticky and newbie don't match.

Does anyone know how to make the screen fade out to black and back it (remember Blackout Basement from DKC? Like that) Is there anyway to do that through a hex editor or something? Thanks in advance!

Hmm, that's not what I mean.

In the level in DKC, every 2 seconds, the screen would go completely black for 2 second, then reppear for 2 seconds. So you can't see squat while it's dark, and you use the light to your advantage. Kinda like that.

Maybe it just doesn't suit a Mario game . . .and the only level I could really think of it being in would be a factory - and I, personally, aren't including a factory til World 7 (thats how it is in TTYD with the X-Naut Fortress) Maybe I'll wait til then, by then, I should be a lot more knowledgable than I am now

Well . . it's not gonna kill me if I don't have it, I just wanted to know if it could be done . . . it was more of a curiosity thing for me, if I didn't work, no big deal, I just thought of this idea now. So I won't worry about it, life will go on without the blackness.

Besides, I'm sure I can think of a hundred other effects I'd like to try that would be cool but I'll get to them later

For the GOAL platform, make sure you have the goal on one part and Yoshi's house about 8 spaces after it. I think that's the only way to make it show up.

About the level names . . I'll PM you a copy of the YITable.tbl, then you can try opening that, if it still doesn't work, then I have no clue whats wrong.

"The file was patched, but the data may be misaligned"

You must have patched the IPS wrong or something, because when I patch it and load it up in ZSNES, I get a stall detected. I don't know if it's just me, or others, but that's what happens, so you migh wanna repatch and repost it here

Can someone please enlighten me on what that sprite next to the castle on the last screen is? I've never played the NES version before, so I'd like to know what it is.

And I forgot to comment earlier, I like the way those skeletons look. This looks like it's gonna be a promising hack, so keep up the good work
