I plan on making a doomship level soon - but no blue flying yoshi, sorry

Also, I can't believe no one liked the ghost house maze. We all LUV ghost houses, don't we?

It also appears that sky levels are right up there too. If you look in my screens for my hack a few topics down, at the very bottom I added some sky level screenies for you all to look at.

Forgot about volcano levels too

Hey, I just thought of something - is it possible you could have a layer 2 scrolling volcano? Like, where the lava is rising and you have to escape? Kinda like an eruption-thing. I think it would be cool to try.

Good news - I think I got the volcano level working. You just use the special layer 2 scroll, make it a vertical level, and the lava won't stop rising. It will eat anything in it's path, so be quick.

Lets see your overworld. It won't spoul much, unless YOU don't want it spoiled. I showed mine, but now I regret it. You can either show just the layout of your world, or the whole overworld with all the paths, events, etc.

I think most people want to see the overworld. That way they can help you with any problems, and stuff if might have - if it even has any.

So it's up to you. Do YOU want to show the overworld?

Oooh, this should be interesting. But how much are you gonna be able to find? So far, we got the cage, but thats about it. If you can find things, then you could do it, but I don't really think you could make a big game out of one cage.

Uness, of course, you take ideas from the NES pirate. Or unless you have seen other things that were in the SMW beta. Have you?

Fixed, thanks for pointing that out, and thank you for showing lots of interest in it don't worry, it won't die, I work on it all the time.

In fact, I'll be releasing a demo within the next 2 weeks, so if you want to play it, I'd be more than happy to send it to you, and anyone else, who wants to beta test it.

I'd quit posting these topics if I were you. And you basically just spammed by repeating the same thing twice. You're getting yourself in hotter water with each post you make.

And if you don't understand what I mean by that, the more posts you make like this, the more people will get angry.

Like Sukasa and Smallhacker already said, if you don't have any screenies or anything, you shouldn't make these posts.

I just noticed, when I made my underwater level and tested it, all the urchins and everything were there, but the fish that are supposed to swim back and forth H. and V. weren't there. Yet I put them in their positions right and everything, put they still wouldn't show up. Any suggestions on what might be wrong?

Problem solved. Thank you . . I didn't include any rip van fish in my level (the ones that chase you) but do they use sprite buoyancy also?

Well, the sprites aren't on layer two, so obviously, they won't "rise" with the level, and it will look very stupid and unrealistic if you just see sprites floating in one place. Remember, this isn't really gonna make a rising volcano, it will just look like it.

That is the level I'm currently working on (you can see in my siggy), and what I'm doing, is just having a huge maze. It's also a two-exit level, so if you want the secret exit, you need to carry a key from the bottom to the top of the volcano. I think this will work well - Ill post screenshots for you guys to see when I'm finished.

EDIT: Hmm, this may be a lot harder than I thought, for starters, layer 2 falls doesn't work. It doesn't fall at all. You just go into the level and nothing happens.
Is there any way to fix this?

Yeah, me too, thank you but it's really tough making it - I think I'll save this one for my last world, since it doesn't really suit a forest. But since I got it working, I'll leave the level there, in add it in later.

I must have missed it.

Yeah, I left out typical, original levels, like forest, plains, stuff like that. By any cave, I mean with rips and such. But then, I left out a lot of stuff in this thread, because if I would've put every level type in, it would probably fill the page.

How about this?

I just finished making alevel which I think is pretty unique. You have to use grinders as your things to Spin Jump on to cross large gaps - the jumps start easy, but them, the path becomes more twisted, obstacles get in the way, and after the midway point, you have to use ON/OFF switches to control the path of the grinders you Spin Jump on, to cross pits.

I just was sitting here, and made that in a level. I don't think anyones ever made it before, so it's unique

Screen 1: Nice title screen. You did a good job here.
Screen 2: Good
Screen 3: Nice - looks a bit tough being able to make thay jump
Screen 4: Nice - blue dino-rhinos
Screen 5: Nice rain - it looks like the ground from screen4, except wet and muddy.
Screen 6: Oh wow - I love what you did with the star road. It looks creative and neat. I bet all your other OWs are this good too.
Screen 7: Did you draw the ground tiles yourself? They look nice too.
Screen 8: I like this too it looks great!
Screen 9: AHHHHHH OMFG!!! Toad heads shoved through metal spikes? You can even see blood below some of them.



Remember, this gave is rated E for Everyone.

Anyway, great job, so far

Go to "Modify Secondary Entrance", go to the entrance # you used, and change BG/FG Initial position to C0 and C0 if you're on the bottom of the screen. It should work now.

Yeah, but I only used that for like two jumps, the first chainsaw part (I think it was only 3) and the second (3). I realized - Grinder are really easy to Spin Jump on and follow - I made it to the midway point of that level no problem. But that's just me - if other people hate it, I'll delete the level altogether.

You should at least have them bloodless - seriously, did you see the original SMW have been toad heads shoved onto chains?

But seriously, I still think thats a bit nasty. Just my opinion though.
