Looks great. Maybe you should make some really cool powerup like a Star+P-Wing combo that lasts the entire level, that costs 999 coins. It'd be quite awesome to see a lot of new powerups.

Cool, though the control method seems complicated. Now of course another problem - I renamed a control, and it refuses to acknowledge the new name! I re-compiled the script resource, checked that the new name was declared in the header (and removed the old one which was still there for some reason) but it just won't accept it (keeps saying it isn't defined). I had to use the actual resource ID instead. What's up with that?

Also how do I change controls' properties? Do I have to send them messages and such?

Well as a lot of you know I suck at drawing. So I'm asking if anyone has any good backgrounds and sprites (such as desks, file cabinets, wall clocks) etc for an indoor scene, mainly a school. Specifically I'm looking for SNES-style stuff. (And no, I'm not planning to use it in a game. )

You aren't logging in by just putting in your name and password when you post are you? That doesn't actually log you in, it just posts with the account. (Yes, it's confusing. )
Otherwise, make sure the cookies aren't blocked and try clearing the cache.

Well by default the button is named something like IDC_BUTTON1, and that worked fine. But if I rename it to something like Button1 and try to use that, it says the variable isn't defined. I have to use the number 1000 (which Button1 is defined as) instead.

Yes, but a lot of programs wouldn't realize this (or wouldn't do it unless you told them to), and would store the file itself on the disc, creating a new filesystem instead of using the one stored in the image.

Agreed. This was probably pretty simple to do (change initial fireball speeds, how the sprite acts, and some graphics), but it's still way awesome.

You sure you're all using the same version? I've seen a few games that had compressed graphics in one version but not in another. But even if they are, you can extract them from a save state.

Ziff, please inform me if you ever intend to get on a plane, so that I can evacuate.

Popular games I don't like:
-Goldeneye. WTF is so great about it? It's just another FPS, but with crappy graphics and annoyingly long death scenes.
-The DKC series. Yay, a generic platformer. The only thing that stood out was the graphics, and that hardly makes a game any good. Not being able to go back to save points until you get to a certain level in each world was a really stupid idea too.

Unpopular games I like:
-Duke Nukem 64. This one was actually fun, thanks to neat weapons like the laser trip bomb, and multiplayer just kicks ass.
-Most of Pok

Bah. My experience with R/S tells me that the addition of Dark and Steel did little good. Before, you would run into trainers with high-leveled Psychics and you'd be screwed because they're so damn strong. Now, the same thing happens, but you also run into trainers with high-leveled Dark and Steel types, and you're screwed because they have high defense and are resistant to damn near everything!

But then, it's better than in R/B, where stats seemed to be completely un-related to levels in some cases. Misty comes to mind, and a trainer soon after that with a Butterfree; both just seemed far too powerful for their levels. G/S were best, IMO. (Best programming too, though I haven't really looked at R/S. )
