| Lapis turned suddenly. She had been taking a walk in the moonlight, enjoying the air, when a terrible blackness erupted from behind her. She instinctively drew her serrated dagger, ready for whoever was there. At that moment, she recognized the feeling she had just had... An undead creature had arisen from whatever dark dimension it resided in. She had felt no ritual, so it had not been summoned. Indeed, it seemed as if it had come of its own accord! Undead with souls... she turned to her home, the Ivory Tower, and knew she was alone. Was this a test? They were always testing her, seeing if she was ready to leave. A green light from the darkness interrupted her thoughts, and she quickly threw her dagger at the light source. She drew her rapier and held it in front of her, hoping that she would be able to harm her unseen opponent. | |||

| Ketra quickly called back the trench when she heard Goldsterd's surrender. After all, it was only a game! As Killalot leaped the trench, the image of Rendar disappeared, and Rendar jumped out of his own pocket dimension, claw extended. He quickly withdrew when he saw his teammate plant the flag, and instead told the players in general: Good Game! Another round, perhaps? We still have time. |

| Evren yelps, and he tries to run, but the pull is too strong, and he is too recently weakened. He is blown into the path of the sword, and is cut badly across the shoulder. The impact throws him away, and he lies stunned on the ground for a moment. Then he tells his opponent: There is nothing I can do to help you now. I am not yet strong enough to protect people from themselves... I need more training. Thank you for showing me this. He attempts to stand, but slumps again to the ground. His last thoughts before slipping into unconsciousness are... I hope... you can find... your light... |

| Lapis: This place is everywhere, and nowhere. The Ivory Tower will stop you from leaving. None leave here without their decision. She gestures with her weapon at the tall tower in the distance. She suddenly sheaths her weapon, then holds her hands out in front of her, pressing them together. A white light begins to come from the cracks between her fingers, and as she slowly brings her hands apart, the light takes the shape of a sword. As she holds her new weapon in both hands, it sheds light of its own over the battlefield. Lapis: I have no reason to give the Undead answers. Come and be banished! (ooc: Well, Lapis's soul has been shattered... more of these pieces are in a city in the south than others, but there are several fragments inside the Ivory Tower. She doesn't have any of them, and furthermore doesn't know she doesn't.) |

| Hah, this game will be even more interesting... thought Rendar to his team. He took his sword out of the ground, using the energy it had gathered to cause the blade to be covered it flames. In no time, it was red-hot, and before it melted, Rendar transmuted it into mithril. Ketra began to summon a ball of black ectoplasm, it appearing in the sky above her. It would take time to finish this technique, but she knew that Rendar could deal with the other team. While the others were fighting, the ball would continue to grow. (ooc: This is fun! Ketra is happy!) |

| (ooc: Lucky for you, Faerna recover very quickly while unconscious... It should take about three minutes for Evren to wake up.) Evren slowly opens his eyes, seeing Sanigen still there. Even this is more than he expected: Sanigen has refrained from killing him while he was in his weakened state. He instinctively scans his surroundings for the evil he has sworn to defeat, and gasps as he sees Sanigen's darkness struggling against something to get out. Looking closer, Evren can see a small pinpoint of light, in amongst the evil. Even further, he can see... None of this darkness is in Sanigen's own soul, that it came from elsewhere... Then he realizes what all of this means. The Sanigen he was fighting was... controlled... by this other, dark soul. A dark soul that is almost gone from him... and he is fighting it. Trying to contain his darkness, to protect the rest of the world. But the evil feeds off of his strength, and his own light couldn't hold much longer. Evren even has doubts as to whether Sanigen's light can sustain his body once the darkness leaves... This is seriously Not Good. |

| Evren gasps as he sees the blood coalesce. Sanigen looks to be too weak to fight this incarnation, and while he has seen the Sorceror heal lights as damaged as Sanigen's, Evren has nowhere near the power necessary. He quickly changes, and pulls out a healing fruit, offering it to Sanigen. It's all he can do, because he needs his own strength for the opponent forming in front of him. He takes out his spellbook and begins tracing symbol magic in the air, many small runes forming a larger structure. (ooc: I'm assuming the healing fruit is allowed by the rules, because I'm guessing Abhorsen is my opponent now, so the HP of Sanigen are irrelevant to that battle... Evren just wants to keep Sanigen alive for now, and the fruit can sustain him artificially for about a day. Two turns until the rune structure is complete.) |

| Evren continues making the rune structure. The dark matter comes closer, closer, then- Nothing! They pass right through him, and the image disappears. Twelve other Evrens appear, making identical rune structures. His voice comes from everywhere... Evren: You have tainted this world long enough! You will be banished to the Netherworld, where you belong! (ooc: One turn until rune structure completion!) |

| (ooc: I'm sorry if that was cheating, I meant it to be an illusion move in the first place. I'll mention the illusion before someone attacks it next time, then the other person can decide if their character is fooled. Would that be more fair? And, just to be fairer, I'll get hurt this turn.) All of the illusion-Evrens complete their rune structures at the same time. The explosion knocks them and their work backwards, and one by one they all disappear, save one. He stands up, and his eyes flare red. He shouts out psychically... You've never seen my innner darkness. Perhaps this would be the perfect opportunity! Evren reached into his robes and pulled out a red, pulsating crystal. As he concentrated, it began to pulse black. Evren let out an unearthly laughter, and prepared to let loose... |

(ooc: lol, your post exploded...  (drawsumps and frontflips his sword... )Evren throws his crystal at the ground, hard. It shatters, and red sand erupts all over Evren's body as his skin turns black. The sand covering his whole body recrystalizes, forming a nearly impenetrable shell around his body, deflecting the incoming sword strike. The gemstone pulses black as the sword strikes, then Evren's shadow separates from his body. It comes out of the ground, looking exactly like Evren, but completely black. The blue sky suddenly darkens as the shadow quickly draws an umber longsword from a nonexistant sheath, then rushes at Abhorsen, going for three quick strikes: A thrust to the leg, a spinning slice to the midsection, and a diagonal slash to the head. Should any of these attacks fail to connect, the subsequent moves would never be attempted. (ooc: The crystal CAN be broken, but it is incredibly strong. It would take three strong hits from a weapon that uses darkness, much longer for others. Evren's Shadow form cannot be sustained for long, probably five turns at max, but it is MUCH stronger than his normal self. Breaking the crystal will cause the shadow to immediately return, and Evren to come back in a weaker state. The umber sword that Shadow Evren uses comes from darkness as well, so I'm guessing it would be blocked but not destroyed by Abhorsen's. Also, if the sky returns to normal, or if there is too much light, the shadow will have to retreat.) (edited by Koneko on 07-03-05 10:12 PM) |

| Lapis rolls to the side to avoid the initial strike from her opponent, then notices his spirit mode passing by where she had just been. She lunged at him with her sword of light, hoping it could banish her foe before the fight got out of hand... (ooc: Lapis's sword is made of enchanted ivory, sanctified against Undead. Many such creatures are immediately destroyed when they come in contact with it, but Ghost has Holy immunity, right? Lapis doesn't know this.) | (ooc: I've only read your battle with Schwa, but that's comparable. Shadow Evren inadvertently destroyed a city once when he went out of control, but he's not able to focus his energies to do that kind of thing on demand.) As Abhorsen nears the crystalline Evren, the shadow suddenly appears standing upon it, and deftly knocks the incoming sword, and presumably its carrier, away. He then leaps into the air, covering the nearby ground in a shower of onyx knives. These knives pass right through the crystal- Evren cannot harm himself while in Shadow form. Dark Evren now begins to focus on his sword, and black sparks run up and down its length. (ooc: I apologise for mocking you earlier. It's all in good fun, k? Also, the sword charge-up doesn't really do anything unless other Faerna are around, but it's not like Evren can think clearly- He's trying to stop himself from killing Sanigen, and at the same time fight Abhorsen.) |

| Lapis gasped when her blade had such small impact, in the short time she had before the illusion arrived. She suddenly changed focus, and spun around, as if sparring with an invisible foe. Concentrating fully on her imagined battle with whatever nightmare engaged her, she unleashed a wild combination attack with her holy sword swinging all around her. While she won't be aware enough of an incoming attack to block or dodge it consciously, her battle with nothing could lead to some interesting luck... (ooc: Lapis, having no soul, has no conscious fears. The closest the illusion spell could get is what she thinks she fears, which is having to fight against her friend and ally Evren. If you're paying close attention to Evren's fight against Sanigen, you can see that Lapis will jump all over the place to keep up with him. Also, she has had some... unusual... training in the Ivory Tower, and has some minor control over her own luck. She'd use this power as much as possible when fighting Evren.) |

| (ooc: I was mocking you when I said that your post exploded... I looked back on the post and the smileys looked insulting to me. Not sure what I mean by this, either.) Evren realizes that further combat in this form is useless- He can't protect Sanigen, and that is his real goal. He doesn't hear the loud thought, though; he is concentrating too hard. He drops back down into his shell, and restores himself to his non-dark self. He then Changes, becoming a cat, and evokes a field of electrical energy. It begins directly surrounding, and in the shape of, Sanigen, then quickly expands into a sphere. The objective is to shock Abhorsen into dropping Sanigen, so that Evren can continue the battle evenly. (ooc: The elemental shield(electric) will last three more turns, unless something weird happens. Evren knows that Sanigen technically cannot die for the next day as a result of the fruit, but he doesn't want Abhorsen to figure it out. Evren is concerned with Sanigen's safety for more reasons than he can know.) |

| Let Go! Evren concentrates, and brings the remains of his rod next to Abhorsen, outside the sphere. It explodes in a shower of flame and burning shrapmetal, the projectiles bouncing off of the electrical shield. Abhorsen's arm won't be affected by the explosion, as the expansion of the electric shield covered his whole arm. Evren then casts a quick spell, rolling back the stormclouds and intensifying the power of the sunlight. Direct contact is enough for a bad sunburn in humans, but Sanigen is protected by the electric shield, and Faerna are naturally resistant to UV radiation. (ooc: The rod is Really Busted now, and it will take five turns for it to repair itself. The electrical shield turns off in two turns. The empowered sunlight will persist for another hour or so, but it fades in intensity quickly- Damaging effects will stop in three turns.) |

| Evren continues his magical assault by forming a sphere in the air out of clear summoned ectoplasm. As the empowered sunlight strikes it, the light bounces around inside, changing colors. The orb then shoots itself at Abhorsen, exploding to release large amounts of every imaginable type of energy. The electrical shield once again protects Sanigen, then fades away. The extra energy the orb collected ends the sunlight spell, and causes several of the nearby essence vents to begin spewing white, sparking holy essence. Evren is confident that he has won this battle, but will stay around to help Sanigen. (ooc: All spell effects have ended, the rod reforms in 4 turns, and the essence vents close in three turns.) |
