Hi!

My name's Dani and I'm a newbie to these boards!
I'm from Missoula, Montana and I love to play games, but more so than that, I love to MAKE games! Any editor of any kind will be my sanctuary. Currently my projects include a Star Craft Campaign using StarEdit, A Super Mario World hack using Lunar Magic, an RPG using RPG Maker 2 (soon to be 3 in the near future!) and anything else that sparks my creative interests.

I hope my newbie-ness won't be too incessantly annoying.

I apologize for the newbie-ness of this question but I've been working on my mario hack for more than a year now and I'm stuck on something concerning the overworld.

Is it possible to dictate where mario starts on the overworld when the game begins?

I guess if I have to, I'll work around this if I can't dictate a starting point but things would be sooo much cooler if I could start mario somewhere else!

Please pardon my apparant stupidity, but...
A lakitu head in the toolbar of the overworld editor? I realize what a dumb-dumb I sound like for asking such a question, but I'm afraid I'm not seeing a Lakitu head in the toolbar.
So much for working with Lunar Magic for a year, eh?
Maybe my brain decided it doesn't want to recognise what a "toolbar" is anymore...

Thanks for the advice you guys!
The problem was that I was using LM version 1.43 when I came across said issue. I have downloaded the current version and all has been remedied. Except, of course, for the big dent in my forehead when I realized what smwedit was saying:

"(if you don't see it, maybe you need to download the latest LM from http://fusoya.panicus.org)"

and said "DOH!" Don't worry, my Mario Hack won't look ANY as dumb as Homer is.

Posted on 05-08-05 04:04 AM, in Why do you think Jesus Exists? Link
I don't think anything about a religion that requires itself to seep into the lives of others like a bad virus is legitimate. Does Jesus exist? I don't know, nor do I care to know. I think that religion in general is man's way of easily answering questions he doesn't know. How simple is it to look at a complicated situation and say "It was God's will"? Too, freakin', easy! Life is so much more complicated and convoluted than just "God did it".

Look at the Tsunami disaster. When millions of people die, it was "the will of God" and when one person gets SAVED from the Tsunami disaster it was ALSO 'the will of God". How much sense does this make? He'll kill and save at the same time? That just doesn't cut it for me. Nor any of that "God works in mysterious ways" crap, either.

I think that each person needs to look inside themselves and ask what truly works for them. If believing a 2000 year old dead man loves you, fine, go for it, but you should be true to YOURSELF and not what other people think is right.

Your sarcasm has been duly noted and thoroughly enjoyed. Take that you non-keep-lunar magic 1.62-thread-stickied meatheads! (not that I should be talking...)

This is fun! We should duel this over with large, steel broad swords or something.
okay, okay. I don't like enticing fights either. And no offense taken with the sarcasm thing. I just like being a smart-ass sometimes... okay, all the time.

I've heard many people talk about the weird things they feel at times that make them believe there's SOMETHING there. I won't comment on that just because I don't feel it's my place. We all believe in something and I respect that... granted the mass-conformation that keeps many religions going does tend to piss me off.

On a different note, what's this Shroud of Turin thing? I've never heard of it.

FFX has the best soundtrack for me. I can't get enough of the music played when you're in Luca. I don't know. I love video game music period. If a game has bad music, the game is usually bad itself. This goes quadruple for RPGs.

Thank you for gracious welcome!
RPG Maker 2 is not for everybody because of the horrible graphics and the massively steep learning curve as most who play this game begrudingly know. I'm just a really patient guy and when I have an idea for a story I keep working till it's up no matter how much I have to teach myself. I hope you do get back into creation. It's just so darn fun!

I've got me a bit of a pickle right now and hopefully someone can help me out.

What I want to do is put a goal point in a level using the Yoshi's House sprites, FG and BG, but for some reason I can't put the goal TAPE sprite in there! I can put the goal point object in the level but the tape sprite just won't go.
Is it impossible to put sprites in Yoshi's House or is there some other way?

I don't know why I'm even writing this, but I think this place is kinda safe for feelings and stuff. I just want to say a few things that are on my mind about posting here at good ole' Acmlm.

This is the first time I've ever had the posting experience. I'm really afraid of saying something thing that's gonna offend everybody. I probably shouldn't worry, but I guess I can't help it, I'm new here. I want people to like me, but at the same time I want to be able to express my opinion. This place feels safe to me. I don't know why but I kinda feel like I belong here. I don't really care if people respond to this. I just want to get it out.
If you do read this, thanks for your time.

Yeah, sorry, had some mouse troubles. And the title is wrong... I don't know how to change it. I guess it's too late. Oh, well.

Posted on 05-11-05 11:48 AM, in Donkey Kong Country tunes... you like? Link
I just wanted to see if anybody else feels the same way I do about the music from the Donkey Kong Country series. To this day, listening to the tunes from DKC 2 or DKC 3 (the snow theme is just incredible), gives me a feeling of just incomprehensible joy. I don't know what it is, but the guy who wrote the music, I forget his name, is up at the top of the greatest composers of video game music for me. Does anybody else feel the same way?

-To all-

I apologize for posting this pointless thread. For some odd reason, my problem has fixed itself, so I didn't really have a problem in the first place. Next time I'll make sure there's actually a problem before I post something.

The last time I checked I was male, yes. But I could very well have been abducted by Elvis and given some female parts within the last 72 hours.

I've been posting for a few days now and I think I've posted a few threads that shouldn't be left on the boards. Someone told that I should "Admin" it and have it removed or closed... What is "Admin"ing and how do I go about doing it?

Another question (yes, I'm a complete forum moron), how do you PM somebody?
I'm sure I'll be asking more newbie questions in the future, so set yourselves.
