Hey duds... The time doesn't stop - it's been 3 years since my last work on romhacking scene, by making visine (MegaMan1&2 editor), sixtans (MegaMan6 editor) and HALed (Adventures of Lolo editor). RockNES became the main project (NES emu) and now it's on extended ice due to a few problems.

I liked romhacking for a good time - times that a MegaMan editor was a dream, heh. Recently, I saw a visine question here and it gave me a bit of motivation to get it resumed sometime... I know that the JAPs like my editor a lot.

The SNES editors I know is SMILE, made by Jathys, and the awesome SuperMarioWorld editor by Fusoya.

I hope to be inside the romhacking business soon... That's it for now... CYA.

Don't worry. I'm already familiar with the forums and their rules. The first thing was a read in the rules - there are tons of options that i hadn't noticed 'around the world', like the [codes] and ¯os& for text and signature. Very nice about the SPAM and their types - by going offtopic or writting shortly. That's it.

Yes, I learn 6502 assembly every day... and you know this is essential for romhacking. Plus, I made an emulator. If you connect A + B, then you know what I mean, heheh

Posted on 04-17-05 01:29 AM, in Mega Man Rapid Fire ASM Hack - Question Link
...And this might sound stupid too, but let's go. MegaMan cannot shot more than 3 bullets on screen, and even if you take a delay between shots, 3 bullets still limits the firing. So, you could increase the number of bullets (up to 7, or else you'll experience sprite flickering) or getting the ASM piece of code and study it. I had it here, but due to a new PC, the sources is still on the old PC. :| The value that visine changes just changes a RAM location, by trickering the things and voila (don't remember exactly how).

Yes, I'm taking the visine project again. It's now compiled on Win32 platform. There's a broken engine due to an unfinished rewrite after 2002. It's going very well... And I plan a brand new editor to a nice game...

That's nice, but you should avoid overloading the gfx with [\\] blocks - it makes me dizzy... Give solid gradient instead of 'risks'.

I would write much less in ASM than using this 'high language'
Plus, I was expecting for a Win32 IDE though...

Posted on 05-04-05 03:59 AM, in Re-writing a Game's TSA Engine? Link
TSA is a table of values. The engine fetches them in a certain manner and do the proper screen arrangement. However, there's no sense changing certain things, like air, solid, spikes, in-water etc.. Plus, the GFX table - it can or cannot use interleaved tiles - changing the TSA engine would imply in a full GFX change. In my opinion, storage x storage I prefer the original. Anyway, your hack might extend this thing a bit... It depends what you want to do exactly.

It's sad to see no MegaManVI hacks around... with the MM6 editor sixtans, coded by myself.

I bet you could make an even better editor than that loser who coded Visine

For your information, I am the "loser" that wrote visine.
Yes, it's on my works. Japanese guys *love* my editor... a lot.

I have been porting visine to Win32, using mingw compiler. It works fine and there's a few changes/fixes in its engine. Regarding sixtans, well... if there's people interested to see this project continued... I could resume it. Notice that I don't know how to produce a program that uses a Win32 GUI though. While it's no problem for my needs, there are A LOT OF people that dislikes that "DOS interface" (read: Allegro's GUI).

Anyway, if someone could give me a hand... let me know.

"VILE" has never existed (only in the minds of my helper), but actually HALed (Lolo editor).

Okay, visine wasn't work here in my PC too... until I compiled it with MinGW (Win32). Well, sixtans is as great as visine, but with less features (of stats). Anyways, get ready for a Win32 console version (ya, that's the right words).

You were completly off-topic!

Well, Megaman1 is weird, due to its ROM size (go figure), hence it's very compacted. On other side, Capcom opened the eyes for Megaman2 - much easier to understand its structure and... uncrunched. I'd say it's a lot easier to support MM2 than MM1 in a _same_ romhacking tool.

Posted on 05-29-05 09:00 AM, in Sony's PSP versus Nintendo's DS Link
Whatever are the hardware issues, PSP is much better than DS. I see the Nintendo DS as a Nintendo64 handheld version - yes, it is. Sony could release PSP2 in a few "years" with backwards compatibility.

I don't play to buy a DS. I would buy a PSP, but since my money is VERY short... Long life my PSOne / Gamecube / GBA!
