I can't even download this. The link just gives me "569 No Data". Can someone send it to me at: mariedvega@aol.com?

I figured something about GBA tiles: the reason they're so fucking hard to rip is that, although they're the same size as SNES tiles, the GBA screen uses a much larger number of tiles, leading to HUGE problems if you're using m16-7k. You're better off using the tile viewer in VBA and drawing them manually. Worked for me

Looks okay for a hack without any ExGFX, I guess. However, if your hack is titled "The Thousand-Year Pipe", then may I suggest some ExGFX based off of Paper Mario 2? I think they would go well with the theme.

OK. I've seen the screenies and I have concluded that A: I'm having a REALLY long dream which I can't wake up from, or B: that I died and went to heaven. This looks so fucking amazing. This may very well overtake Super Mario Odyssey as the single best hack in all of history

Posted on 07-21-05 07:12 AM, in Who is your favorite Mario character, enemy, or boss? Link

OK, here goes.

Best characters: 1) Bowser (in Paper Mario 2): Awesome comic relief.
2) Yoshi: He lets you ride on him all day and doesn't complain.
3) Mario: Duh!!!!!

Best bosses: 1) Culex: The hardest boss in the history of gaming.
2) Shadow Queen 1/2 : Cheap. So very cheap...
3) Cortez: His attitude alone wins him the spot.

Best enemies: 1) Chain Chomp: WOOF! WOOF!
2) Mr. I: Round and round he goes...
3) X-Naut: Seeing him trip up when you dodge him: Priceless.

Most hilarious: 1) Lord Crump: Gotta love his attitude, and his giant robots.
2) Bowser (PM2) His weight jokes and sweet one-liners.
3) Kammy Koopa: She's such a worrywart.

Posted on 07-22-05 07:11 AM, in What would the future be like if it was called Super Luigi Bros.? Link

1) Mario would be taller than Luigi.
2) Wario would have appeared in Luigi Tennis.
3) Waluigi would have had his own series.
4) Due to the randomness of the situation, other games would be affected as well.
Donkey Kong would instead be Diddy Kong. Sonic would have stayed a rabbit.
Samus Aran would be a guy.

So what if people like to rip? Does that make their hacks bad? I myself am a rip artist (no pun intended), and I am also fond of RLM. I do like to make some fixes here and there, though. And you're right about the palette issues. I can't draw much, but I've made some tilesets based off of other's original work. However, I do the right thing and stick their names in the credits. After all, they deserve some time in the spotlight too.

How can I make the switch blocks, and their respective switches, use different graphics for each one (for example, the yellow blocks have a lightnig symbol, the green ones have a tree symbol, etc.)? I'm trying to create an elemental theme for the switch palaces and their respective blocks.

Heh. Do you guys really think that Al Qaeda and the extremists will give up even if we leave Iraq and Afghanistan? They clearly stated in their numerous recordings that they're after the "infidels". They won't stop until they take over the world and force its inhabitants to convert to Islam. Christians, Jews, and other religions will be severely persecuted. Women and children would no longer have rights. Our American ways of entertainment would be banned (yes, that includes video games). In short, it would be the 1940s all over again, but much deadlier.

This doesn't mean, however, that I approve of President Bush spending hundreds of billions of dollars on war and driving the country into deficit and financial breakdown while the really important affairs, like education and health, are utterly neglected.

So it's that simple then? I actually thought of trying that, but didn't know it would work

But don't expect a demo for a LONG time. School here starts on August 3rd, and I'll be from 12:30 to 5:30 pm (interlocking), so I won't be able to touch my comp until around 8 pm, after homework and stuff.

@Keikonium: Thanks for your thoughts. I'm going to put a lot of interesting ideas in my hack, hopefully it won't take as long as Odyssey. I'm going to show everyone "The 1001 lost uses for Blocktool"

HOLY SHIT!!!! this looks sooooooo fricking awesome!!!! The levels, the graphics, the overworlds, they're perfect!!! One thing, though. The last OW looks...weird. Remove the castle on the moon, and make the moon more YI-like.

Wrong. From what I can gather, you can only insert .spc music files due to the SNES music memory limit (64KB, I think), meaning you can only put in soundtrack from other SNES games. (Or NES and Gameboy, if you have the correct conversion utility)

Yeah, I agree. You should clearly state that Lunar Magic does not qualify, or everyone will enter it.

A block that is impassable until all enemies are defeated in the current screen, then acts like whatever it was set to.

Example: you enter a house and end up surrounded by Koopas. Due to the blocks, you cannot leave the area until they are all dead.

I believe mikeyk did make it into a stand-alone block before, but sadly I don't remember the thread for it.

Next request: An animated hurt block that also makes a sound on one frame, and another one that also makes a sound on eight frames. If it's necessary, make the whole set.

Nice choice. You'd have to fix up a background for it, though.

Oh, and dibs on the Restricted Zone! Muahahahahaha!
