I've been working on my own table file for a hack I'm doing and it's pretty much done (Just need to figure out the coding for altering texxt display speed and color). Sadly, as I'm a Mac user running OS X, there's not much in the way of tools to help me. I've been using HexEditor, any tools that people know of that would help me out, or should I just continue with what I'm doing? (edited by anclunn on 03-29-05 08:46 AM) |

I would prefer to avoid hardcoding the images I have created for use in my homebrewn NES game using asm. However, none of the NES graphics programs seem to support any kind of standard image format. The image i have is currently in gif format, but could be converted to jpg, png, bitmap or most any other standard format. It contains only 4 colors as to comply with the limitations of the NES counsel (Of course). My goal is to have it stored in .chr format so that I can include it within my coding via referencing the file. This would be very helpful, as hardcoding each individual pixel or even recreating it within an editor from the already made images would be very tedious. So if anyone knows of a way to convert images into a format usable by the NES, please let me know. | |||

I've actually been busy hacking IOG fora couple of weeks. Made text translating code to find and edit text in tehe IOG script. The graphics are a snap to edit with something like tile molester. Item placement (In terms of what item is in each chest) is comming along. But honestly, outside of graphics hacking everything else I do in hex. Everything else just seems so... unnessesary. |
