I want to know how you make the BG and have the right colours to it. And i've tried copying some stuff from a screenshot .bmp 16col pasted in yy-chr saved it to a .bin. But it's so friggin hard to get the thing looking right in LM. Is there any way to just keep the colours with the damn exgfx file, rather than havin to get each one and enter it in LM. |

Ok, i've been completly fuckin ignored on my last post, what the hell is going on here?. Is it so hard to offer some frickin help, if someone was to just make some sort of tutorial on making EXGFX, and it's surprising that there still isn't one around yet!. You'd think there would be, but are people that lazy or what. sheesh Anyway i've got another one, here's a great FG3 you can make. Hey, Ok here's another bg it would make a great BG for water levels!, Skateboarder would you be able to give me some info on how you make a BG!, cause i'd like to make one of my own but i still don't get the damn shit. So how is it done?, do i copy and paste selections of the screenshot into YY-chr or what?. The thing is i've done that and it seems allright but its the F%@*' colours are allways wrong. Hey, Na unfortunatly you can't remove the layers like you can with Snes9x, this is a sega game, its my Gens emulator!. Umm, well can ya use the bg as is, what i mean is all of it can be the BG, but maybe not ecco dolphin. |

So, are you sayin that if the FG layers are still in place, which i can't turn off and it would just have to be the blue part which is the real BG, is that right?. Ah now i see, that's probably why i couldn't make it all with the coral an stuff. But i tried pasting all of the bottom coloured with some of the blue bg bits as well and was too big for LM insertion. Ok forget that one then Skater, i'll try and scrape another one up for you ta crack at soon. |

I'd like to see the Chemical Plant, Metropolis and Hilltop zone levels FG&BG from Sonic 2 (Genesis). But its the hardest game anyone could try to rip from, cause it's fu*&ing interleaved and compressed rom gfx and to be able to do anything like that you need to first convert the .smd to .bin before the gfx can be seen, well you can't see anything except for sonics. Its a pain in the arse! Btw, Cpubasic: where did you get your factory BG what game?. Yes ULPOAD!, that would be a fab Bg, can't wait to download it, but i would like to know how you made it?. How the hell dp i rip a BG or FG from Sonic2 (Sega Gens) not SMS. Ok i did convert the rom to .bin, but what utils do i need to extract the gfx or rip. Hmm maybe i need to take a screen shot and make it into an exgfx file?. Thanks in advance |

Smwedit: you should've mentioned that it needs to be version 2 PCX or it won't work!!. Paint shop pro is the only one i think that saves them as v2. Its a pitty there wasn't another program that makes BGs and inserts them into LM for you like so. Aaarrgh! but there isn't BTW, Gravieth where is that BG ripping thread?. Can you please link it. Ok thanks for that. But hell, WTF does sonics have ta be so difficult and at the worst thing possible be compressed!. It would have ta be sega not obviously wanting anyone to hack it or steal their gfx. so feckin hard arrgghh!. Ah well maybe i'll find it out some day sob. One more thing, i geuss you need some decompressor for it?, and any progs i downloaded from that other site, aren't good at all, and why is ESEII editor in some frickin spanish/portugese lang isn't their an english version.
