I pretty much did everything I want to do in PHP; been using it for over 2 years now. Like I said, just trying out new stuff, ASP's one of them. Stupid how I didn't notice that page though, considering I'm at W3Schools pretty often.

That resizing system is bad. For the smartasses who don't know. If you have a 1000 x 800 pixel image, and you display it on a webpage using <img src="image.jpg" width="250" height="200" alt="resized image" />, in spit of the fact you show a resized image, the original image needs to be loaded. I doubt people would want to wait for hundreds of KiloBytes of images to be loaded as soon as they click the Photo Album link. |

Yes, Elric, but that still means people CAN upload crap BEFORE it's validated.

I've had tuvai.com for little over a half year now, and ever since I got it I've been using my @tuvai.com webmail alias, which I connect to through Outlook Express. The mailserver has an excellent spamfilter and in the half yearr I've used the email account, I NEVER got a single spam email in my inbox. However, lately I've been getting the same email over and over, though with random email addresses everytime, and it's really pissing me off: You get the idea... The body of the email is always "Your file is attached.", as for the attachment. It's always a .pif file with a random filename of EXACTLY 17,6 KB big. I already contacted my webhost's service desk person, but he says he can't do shit about it and that I'm the only person bugging him with it, even though other people on that host are telling me they're having the same problem in the IRC channel. I guess it speaks for itself; how can I prevent these annoying emails from ending up in my inbox? Isn't there some sort of option in Outlook Express that can automaticly reject emails with .pid attachment or something? (edited by Tuvai on 03-15-04 02:12 PM) |

I got numerious directories at my server at CHMOD 0777. |

No, I'm not going to make a new email account; and please, if you don't have anything useful to add, then don't reply.

My restaurant job from which I quit not too long ago sucked. But the cafeteria I worked during summer vacation 2002, adn where I'll be working 2004, is cool. I was (and probably will be again) in charge of stuff most of the time, and hey, I was working between a bunch of girls my age. No regrets. Adn my current 'job', well, what to say, it's obvious. My hobby is making websites and programming, and I currently make money making websites and scripts (of which mostly webshops) for other companies/people; earning money with your hobby kicks ass, especially if you get more than you've ever gotten before with any other job. |

Body = Text. And no, I delete them right away now, rather not toy around with random attachments. |

Yup, there's been another recent thread about this in the General forum. To summarize that thread, you've been screwed by someone using a script to register a massive ammount of accounts in a short time. Let's just put it this way, AcmlmBoard's register page is a little too much like swiss cheese; way to easy for assfucks like that to bug AcmlmBoard owners. |

That would work a bit, but unfortunately not solve it. The screenshot I posted above is just a little part of my Trash folder; the subject seems to be random, too.

Or maybe an improved register page needs to be created. I had it way back on RPG Revelation's AcmlmBoard and it worked like a charm. Let's be blunt, currently all these idiots are put through NO trouble at all when they want to re-register after being banned. The highest security this board has is an IP ban and we all know that works like crap, as the average moron nowadays apperantly knows what a proxy is. Things that will make the board a lot more lamer-free concerning registering: - Checking if there already is a user with the same IP address, name or email address. - Checking if a proper email address was stated (IE containing both an '@' and a '.', and a valid length check), and sending a verification email to the specified address in which an account activation link is found. - Allthough I added this one more for personal reasons long ago: an AOL check; forcing AOL users to register with their @aol.com email address. I did this because all the lamers that were being dumbfucks at my AcmlmBoard long ago were AOL users. |

I think that fact speaks for itself, which makes this a stupid thread. Doh, everyone wants spyware gone; I doubt ANYONE likes annoying, usually pop-up generating, unwanted software on his/her computer. And even if this thread gets filled with "I hate spyware, ban it from the US!"-posts, it'll achieve nothing, nothing at all. On a side note, why just the US? Think the US is the only thing being bothered by spyware or what? |

I guess I'm most talented at sports and programming; I achieved a bunch of satisfying and big 'milestones' with both of them. Of course there's a lot of things I'm not good at, but I learned that when you put your interrest in something, you'll get good at it.

Aim does have that annoying thing in the top of the buddy list window that generates popups occasionally.

Well yeah, it's obviously yet another stupid email worm. What pisses me off is that the cause of these things spreading are actually the dumbasses stupid enough to open that bullshit. So, anyone know of a way to keep these annoying things out of my inbox? |

Doubt there's much progress on that. I do know however that Acmlm won't release it, but I guess that speaks for itself. |

Permission list is out of the picture; I run a small webdesign/scripting company and got new clients mailing me every day; can't just block all of those people, and thus my money source, off. |
