if you put a shell in yoshi's mouth, spit it straight into the side of a vertical pipe and go up the pipe, yoshi will be stuck inside the pipe, but mario will come out, if you go back down, you will get yoshi back.

Edit: you can probably find the code for that when you pass the level, sprites touch you but they don't hurt you. when you are walking when you passed the level, if there are sprites, they just "stick" to you and walk back and forth.


btw, if you need GFX for the corners, you can "steal" it out of my hack, level 23. my site is in my profile, and the hack is unlocked.

yoshi's head still disappears if I take a springboard through a pipe in demo 3

edit: and the error for being able to make the pipe sound by going on top of a vertical pipe and hitting A+down arrow with yoshi is worse, instead it first makes that sound, then you lose control and hop on and off yoshi continuously.

you could have a level that uses the SMAS SMB3 1-1 BG with the cloud at the top, using FG2 to make it, place it on the top of the BG, make vertical scrolling disabled (so the rain won't appear above the cloud

you could use ASM to do that, just make it count using the same code used for the timer for the level

edit: or you could make it so you absolutely have to have the arrow pressed to go in any pipe, or else it acts like block # 130.

try to make it so anything that goes in the pipe becomes invisible (yoshi stays visible outside the pipe, but is invisible on the inside, that will fix multiple errors

you could go into the change level header window and change properties in header to #2 and that will erase the BG, make it the BG color set in the palette editor, and make the layer 2 space for level

1. take the map 16 file and place it in the same folder as the rom
2. take the ExGFX file(s) and place them in the folder called ExGraphics
3. open LM
4. go to the level
5. open the 16x16 tilemap editor
6. go to a blank page 10-1F
7. press F3 and F9
8. press the yellow mushoom
9. bypass the FG/BG GFX (BG1) to whatever the number at the end of the ExGFX file was
10. if there is a sample level, open it from the file->open level from file and save to a blank test level
11. go back to the level and copy the BG from the level you saved the sample level to
12. if it looks like garbage tiles, press pgup/pgdown to get it right
13. then go under file->palettes->import palette form file and open the tpl or mw3 file whichever is there
14. save the level
