ONOZ! A few freakin' pixels! ONOZ! One freakin' table in the DB! HAX!

If you don't want it on your board, that's perfectly fine. But I don't see any need for it to be removed from the distro. It's an option that I like, and use.

See AcmlmBoard News Poster 1.0 by Weasel at the AcmlmBoard Mods page.

Nope. The New Posts mod will list the newest posts on the board. There's no updated version of Weasel's ABNews Poster. This thread tells you how to update it for v1.92, but it doesn't work for me... For some reason, it won't pull the actual message body and print it. Even good old Randy53215 can't seem to figure out why it won't work...

And yes, the AcmlmBoard Mods page needs both a new name (since they aren't hacks, but mods or plug-ins), and descriptions of what's what.

For your own current board, you can modifiy that. You'll have to find every page that has a redirect in it, and change the wait time. By default, it's set to 0. Setting it from 3-5 seems to work fine for me.

But yeah, that should be made into a var set in funtion.php for future versions, so you can do something like $redir(n), where n == the time you want it to wait before redirecting.

Umm... unless they changed their minds, there's not gonna be a v1.B release...

Frankly, I just wish I knew why the frunk it refuses to work with v1.92...

I don't have v1.A2, so I dunno if it'd be compatible. I do know that there's a place where you can get the older versions...

That... "link" is AcmlmDependant. Generally, when you can't access it, it's cause his connection is down...

And here's hoping you can get it to work!

I'm on dialup, and just did a ping board.acmlm.org. Here's my results:

Pinging board.acmlm.org [69.44.56.134] with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 69.44.56.134: bytes=32 time=190ms TTL=242

Ping statistics for 69.44.56.134:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 190ms, Maximum = 211ms, Average = 197ms

Is that good or bad?

IIRC, the colors are messed up because the scheme stuff has changed majorly since v1.8a. You'll probably have to go through the file and replace the following:

$tblstart -> <table width=700 cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0 align=center border=1>
$tccell1 -> $tdbg$tablebg1><center>$fonttag
$tccell1a -> <td bgcolor=$tablebg1
$tccell2 -> <td bgcolor=$tablebg2><center>$fonttag
$tccell2a -> <td bgcolor=$tablebg2
$tccell2s -> <td bgcolor=$tablebg2><center>$smallfont
$tccell2l -> <td bgcolor=$tablebg2>$fonttag
$tccell2ls -> <td bgcolor=$tablebg2>$smallfont
$tblend -> $tblend$tblend
$tccellh -> $tccellha.$tccellhb
$tccellha -> <td bgcolor=$tableheadbg
$tccellhb -> ><center>$fonthead

And sure, I'll take a copy of it. If it turns out it's the same as mine, then I'll know the problem's not with the file, and is probably with my host...

Woo! It works now! For some reason, mine was using $ptxt=mysql_query("SELECT text FROM posts_text WHERE pid=$news[id] ORDER BY id LIMIT 1");, and then using $ptxt to display the actual post. I checked it against the copy you provided, commented out that code, changed the $ptxt to $post[text], and it works!

Thank you!

As for the colors, I wasn't 100% certain if those vars were used in the file or not. It seems they aren't. Still, that list will come in handy when modifying other mods to work with v1.92+

Oh, you have to set those up yourself. If you look, you'll see this comment right before $displaynews: // You can customize this variable to change how news will appear on your site. Just edit the stuff in there to make the colors look right.

When I did it, I copy-pasted everything after $displaynews=" into notepad, gave it proper formatting, made my edits, bunched it all back up together, and pasted it over the old code. If you check my main page, you'll see that it "blends in" with the page.

Hmm... it doesn't seem to pick up line breaks... Oh well.

Not sure if you'd have to type <br>, or if it just ignores line breaks.

The news posts on my main page are all jammed onto one line, even though on the forums, there are line breaks.

Those sound like some good ideas. I'd be all for them. Multi-quoting can be a pain. I've left out the ending <hr> and or </blockquote> quite a few times. Now I always preview when doing a multi-quote.

Nice! Thanks again!

BTW: You might either want to code in support for the [url] tag, or just use ye olde <a href=> for news posts. I almost ALWAYS use <a href=>. It's become habit, since I code my HTML stuffs "by hand".

Level and other stuff are for the RPG-element Acmlm has plans to code into the board. Status.php was made as a kind of character-sheet, and it updates the imgage dynamically using the code in the file.

Yes, you need to upload the file to somewhere like Photobucket, because otherwise, you're stealing bandwidth from the site.

Woo! Yeah! I've often had this idea, but never got around to posting it.

Of coruse, I'd also like to see it go a step further, and allow users to just select the forums they want to see. For example, I have no use for Newbie Forum, Officer's Club, or World Affairs/Debate under the General category, so I'd like to be able to choose to never have those displayed. Combine that with turning off categories I never visit at all, such as Pure Craziness, and it's a good thing, IMO.

I borrowed some files from 1.A2 for my 1.92 board, and those in /admin/ had to be moved to the main board directory.

It seems the problem with $root is that it expects the board to be in your root directory, since that's how it is here. Something tells me that if you were to just drop all the board files into /stifu/ and not /stifu/board/ then it would work...

Huh. I was actually right. Must be a sign of the apocolypse...

Now the next trick is to figure out where $root is defined, and fix it...
