I'm sorry, I must not have been clear enough. What I meant was like, if I wanted to change the color of mario's hat to a color not on the orginal palette for mario (like make his hat purple or something) and have it be purple in the the entire game, not just one level, how would I do that. But, it seems from the replys I've got that changing mario's color throught the game isn't possible. |

Hey, How do most people chang the 'Super Mario World' Title screen to something like 'Super Demo World'. I know how to get to the title screen in lunar magic and by opening the roms graphics in like title edit pro or other programs. It seems like it you wanted to change this you would have to take the pencil and just go point by point, and the graphics aren't in order when you open them in a title editor (part of the 'W' is over here, follow by part of the 'o'...etc). Is there some easier way to edit it? Thank you. |

Hey, I'm having a problem with ExGraphics... I went to the ExGFX workshop site and downloaded differnet graphic sets. I followed the instructions and the graphics important into lunar magic with no problems and I can use the new graphics. The problem is that after I hit F3 and put the new grpahics map in, if I dont hit F9 and save it to the rom then the graphics revert back to orignal graphics from the game. If I hit F9 and save the map into the rom, the new graphics work, but the origrnal gmae graphics in other levels and everywhere in the game revert to the new graphics set in arent right (like the ground will be made of parts of question boxs or such). I was under the impression that you could change the graphics set used in only one level. Thanks for the help. |

Thanks for the help, but I cant figure out how to export just one page of the Map16 data. I've been searching all through the help file in lunar magic and I cant find the hotkey that you said would save just one page of Map16. If anybody knows how to save just one page of Map16 data please post, thank you. |

I know it's possible, people do it all the times in there rom hacks, I just can't figure out how to get the Map16data to apply to only one level of the rom. When I import the ExGFX I want it to only be in one level, but when I save the Map16data to the rom, overrides everything from all levels. So if anybody can help me with this, please post a reply - - - And thanks for all the help above :-) - - - |

I ran through all of the F keys mutiple times. F1 = Nothing F2 = OMG.... ok, I just figured out what button saves a page of Map16 data. F3 = Load a page of Map16 Data F4 = Run Emulator ...etc I figured out what is going wrong, but I don't know how to fix it. There are two pages in the 16x16 title editor. Page 1 (0x0) has some misc stuff. Page 2 (0x1) has mostly ground and question blocks. When I import the ExGFX they override the levels page 2. I then import the Map16 data which adjusts page 2. When the Map16 data is saved back into the rom, it adjusts the page 2 of every level. |

Yes, I am saving just a page and loading just a page and am on the page that I want to load, But the thing is... The normal ground graphics are stored on page 2 of the 16x16 title editor. When I import new graphics they overwrite page 2. The map16 data then rearranges page 2 so the graphics are correct. When I save the map16 data to the rom, it saves the page 2 rearranged data. So now page 2 is rearranged throughout the entire game. Not cool... There has to be a way to do this, other people do it all the time... (edited by Dmackeybog on 03-06-05 10:25 AM) |

I have a theroretic question, let me use Yoshi's island as an example. Is it possible to have level 105 (Yoshi Island 1) use the orginal game graphics, and then level 106 (Yoshis Island 2) use a new set of graphics from a ExGFX. From what I understand this is impossible. |

I'd have to agree, with small hacker, you need to try and use ASM to solve you'r problem.

How do you make a level into an Ice level? Like the ice levels where mario slides around after he stops walking and such. I can't find where that setting is. Thanks for the help.

Hey, I was trying to find where the graphics for: MARIO START (When you begin a level) GAME OVER (When you lose all your lives). I found something that looked like it in the AllGfx.bin file, but it wasn't the complete thing. Part of the word game, top half of an S, an '!' mark...etc but some parts where missing. Does anybody know where the complete thing is? |
