Hello everyone!

Firstly, I'm aware that you don't really like these kind of "newb" threads, but this is the only place I can come for serious help. Please note that I read that 'questions and answers to newbies' thread. That's where I found the Overworld Tutorial by Lordlazer. I'm almost certain, that I do everything the way it's written.

My dilemma: when I complete a normal level, the path unveils as it should, but the new level's spot (circle) is blank and doesn't have the yellow/red dot in its middle.

I'm always comparing the original game's overworld to mine and the problem shows there as well. Specifically, when I'm in my own overworld and switch to Layer 1/Layer 2 Event Editor Mode the yellow/red dots don't appear, whereas they're visible (and transparent as they should be) when in the Layer 1 16X16 Editor Mode and Layer 2 8X8 Editor Mode.[---> this is when the Future Layer 1 Tiles are viewed (7 on keyboard).]

So, if you could, please explain how should I make them visible upon completing a level. Thank you in advance!

I can paste the level tiles in Layer 1 Event Editor Mode, corresponding to the events made in Layer 2 Event Editor, right?
I just did that, but the same thing happened: plain circle-no yellow dot.
But when I go into the level again, that leads to it, or the level where the dot should be revealed, it appears (without the blink). Also, randomly, some other level dots get revealed, even before I completed the level before it (without the blinking, of course)!

So while I'm here, how can I make the dot blink before it reveals?

I'm seriously confused..I want to make a good overworld so much..!

I didn't know that! I always wanted to have breakable bricks in my hack, even if they are overused.
I'm really just a newcomer.. I already have many levels finished and I tried to add these breakable bricks (using this Demo World version as the base), when I saw that, with the original SMW backgrounds I use with my levels, these bricks just don't look like how they are supposed to. (Either purple or those blue squares.)
So if it's something easy, could anyone please tell me how to have those bricks with the original backgrounds?

I hope this isn't a very stupid question..

Thanks!

Hello!

I'm not very experienced in any kind of hacking, I only edit the levels and the overworld.
So I would like to ask you guys a little advice. I'm aware that the breakable brick-blocks are used in many hacks, but still, I would like to include them in my mine.
(I'm not even thinking about using blocktool and create my own gfx for it, because I tried and failed so many times.)

So there is FuSoYa's unlocked Demo World, where it's included (Direct Map16 Access third page). But there are only certain levels I can use them in - with its actual gfx - (these are the levels that FuSoYa edited), on other levels there are only purple squares instead of the bricks.

So could you please tell me what to do to be able to use them on any or most of the levels (if this is possible at all)?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks for replying!

Well I put them in, but they are just animated "garbage".

So Darkflight, you say that I have to set up all the different tileset's graphics?
That's actually the most obvious, but I think I tried that in the past and didn't succeed.. Oh well. If anyone else might have any suggestions, that would be nice.

Thanks for your replies again!

Hey, peter, you only say this because aren't very good at level design, no?

ExGFX change nothing at all, although some are impressive.

Who voted for level design? What's a SMW hack without clever level design?
