Actually, this is good for a first timer. Very well executed. I suggest Tile Layer Pro for beginners of graphics editing. (that's the only graphics editor I use) as for custom blocks, use Block Tool. Confusing, though. You have to have a calculator that converts numbers to hex. As for ExGFX, confusing, too. bleh. There is another kind of editing. It's called Hex editing. get GoldFinger for that.

Get all those and you're ready freddy.

Master M, have you ever not called a hack good? Even for obvious crap like "Super Darrk World", I remember you saying "I like the palettes". Either you are suffering from a total absense of taste when it comes to hacks, or you want to buy yourself cheap popularity amongst the other n00bs (yes, I chose "n00b" against "newbie" for a reason). Somehow, I come to believe it is both.
I have said the "LEVEL DESIGN WAS GOOD" Level design, friend. Level design.

About the problem you've reported to Housten, use Lunar Magic, then extract the GFX.
