Hey!

So ludwig did a freaky ninja-type spin? Forgive me if i'm wrong, but if he does a left jump, is there a similar value to control that spin speed too?

Thanks for the compliment!

The only level I know of not truly re-enterable is the pirhana attack level. all others are either normal levels or castle/fortress L+R re-enterable. The worlds themselves (world 1, 2, 3...) should have their exit tiles connected properly.

I'll look into it. Also, was the eith world pallette messed up? it was the first time I tested it, but I guessed that it was because of all the changes I had done without restarting the save file. Was it all right for you? The ROM isn't locked since it is a demo, and if anyone uses my *ahem*crappy hand-drawn graphics please credit me and use them as much as you want. Just please don't use FuSoYa's without asking him. (His are the desert, seaside soiree background, and various sprite and FG graphics)

BTW, when i finish this hack, can anyone give me a pointer on what I need to work on the most (1. 2. 3. type list)? That would be an awsome help.

Just a theory, but the left jump-spin-ratio-thingy address may also be 0x03. anyway, if anyone finds a value that provides a profound, yet persistent (happens regularily, not haphazardly), would they be able to post the address, number, and effects to share with people? That way we could all work together to find new values and effects?

URGENT EDIT: The value for Ludwig's left jump is directly after his right jump! It should be at value A9 firstoff. Change it to FE to have Ludwig spin in the opposite direction of his right jump (FF). Also, the number is not his jump-spin speed, but his jump type (i.e. what he does in the jump sequence)

0E is neat, he jumps up inside his shell, then emerges just before landing, glitch-free as if he was originally designed to do the move...

Hey!

I'll send out the ips to anyone who didn't get it the first time round. The only difference between this and the earlier release are two different bossbattles and a partially completed second level in world 8.

Otherwise, the ROMS are the same.

REVEIWERS: Iggy has an easier battle arena now and ludwig uses ninja jumps.

I think he means that in a Vertical level, is there a sprite command to scroll upwards, say for example starting at screen 05 and ending at screen 00, but scrolling automaticlly.

Iwas thinking about the SMB3 screen-scrolling pipes, and I came up with a way to do that. It would take someone with skills (unlike me--> i dont have any) to maybe write some custon blocks.

Here is the image of my concept:


What do you think? The idea could be expanded upon easily with the addition of different directions...

Sorry for all the problems i've been having, but my computer and the computer hooked up the the internet re two different things, and only one has a functioning floppy drive, i left my CDROM at school, and the only ones at my place are unreadable by the drive in the internet PC.

Hey!

Well, someguy, I can check those addresses. I'll post any neat things I find here.

Just so i know, however, what data is modified by the iggy/larry boss platform editor so i can skip it? thanks.

also, setting $D157 or $D158 to BB makes ludwig jump funnily -> he spins upward + to the side, then emerges and falls straight down.

Even if it is, maybe someone will benefit from our conversation.

EDIT: NOTE: changing morton's life value also changes everyone else's life as well (except for iggy and larry, they operate differently.)

I know.

But this is a concept idea, so i'm just giving a basis for people to maybe work from. like you said, only FuSoYa has done this correctly, but maybe with a spirit of copoperation this can be accomplished by everyone else, too. really, though, I think that the scroll up block could be accomplished by using one "Start moving up" block used twice. Of course, like you sid kyouji, some code would have to be repeated/called, but the idea is to make a tileable pipe system.

Good idea though.

The ROM should either work unexpanded or expanded to 3 MB. If it doesn't maybe the ips needs to be sent again. At any rate, this is only my first hack, so if anything is wrong (which some things I know have got to be), I'd really like to know.

Hey!

One-way. you're right. i suppose if someone used an empty variable and had variable-controlled bloack it would work too. Keikonium had a neat idea too, which might be expanded upon by running the enter pipe ASM, then moving mario. I guess it boils down to personal taste.

EDIT: Sometime i'll work out a better picture and diagram w/ explanations and post it so people can have a good base to work off of.

FuSoYa, Could you please post maybe a hint or something here? Please?

Oh...

I guess the lightning routine wouldn't work then. I've been thinking of learning ASM so i could do stuff like this, but I don't know where to get stuff. I'll look around the forums for that.

114. Don't overrate your hacks. People may believe future hacks will not live up to expectations either.


About demos...

You don't always need to release a TON of screenshots. I gave only one for my first hack and it seemed to take off okay (I.E. lots of requests).

115. HAVE A GOOD TITLE!!!! There are too many hacks (like mine) that used the outdated "SMW x: xxxxxxx" format. IT IS OVERUSED!!!!!!
