Thanks guys, I appreciate the opinions  Jizuko, I dunno. The apply buttons are changed and now numbered, and they're greener (as are the feature buttons). I don't know what's going on.... As for the text in the boxes being too dark, I'll talk to my designer when he gets on today. It'll be fixed ASAP Also, there's a new splash! How does everyone like it? EDIT: New scheme on the forums, too. If anyone would like to join to check it out, I'd greatly appreciate any comments. It's based on the new layout, and I've gotten a lot of positive comments about it. A new banner is on the way for the forums as well. | Yeah, I plan to have it changed. I'm at school right now and the administrator here blocked my site due to a language content (lots of people from my school go on the site, and he watches us at various times). I'm not going to put a censor up though, that's against your constitutional rights (in the USA), IMO. Next time he gets on I'll try and have him darken up the affiliation buttons and lighten up the text on the buttons. Hopefully it'll be changed today, but you never know when he'll sign on... |

 Well, that's my new sig. I spent about the last 5 hours twiddling around with different things to get it the way I wanted. The animation took hella long to figure out what to do (I havn't used ImageReady in ages   )So, how does the general population like it? |

| Hmmm, alrighty. I'll make it shorter height-wise, and I"ll work on making the sparkles smoother. I'll try to reduce the filesize, too. Thanks for all the input! EDIT: Antialiasing removed on text, and it's shorter and the sparkles loop smoother. If you guys suggest anything else, feel free to post them. I'd be happy to change things around! Ok, I made this yesterday and am looking for some more comments on it. It's supposed to be non-color (hense the name Shadow Flare). I believe I've improved tremendously in this one, and I've gotten some good comment so far. How is it? |

| Now I know this may be considered advertising, but I just want people to try and have fun at a possible job or whatever. I really want to make this big! THE CONTEST: Well, since I'm too busy (but mostly lazy ) to work on the image gallery, I'm holding a contest.You guys, the community, are welcome to participate. Now for the contest itself You must create an original banner for the image gallery. The person who creates the most eye-appealing banner (rated by me), shall have their banner hosted as the official FFFire Image Gallery banner. Aside from the banner, the winner will also become the manager of said image gallery. They will be soley in charge of upkeep. They will be acknowledges as a member of the staff, have their own section on the staff page, and get the mod spot on the Photoshop Tutorials forum. Now for the rules. CONTEST RULES 1) The banner MUST be soley Final Fantasy Related (no exceptions) 2) The banner MUST be 550x200 (no exceptions)  )4) The creator MUST send me the Photoshop (.psd) file with proof that the work is original. (no exceptions) 5) The due date for the banner is March 6th, 2005 at 5:00PM Central Standard Time (GMT -6) (some exceptions) 6) When you are finished, e-mail me (Vyper@fffire.com) with your image (***remember to send the .psd***) as an attachment (will be virus scanned). | Pretty good, actually. I would try some blending with maybe some vector masks to fade the knives in a bit. Also, try the blur tool around the edges of the knife, it works wonders in removing choppyness of edges. It also helps to use the Filter --> Extract tool to cut images out. Highlight around the edges (if they're well-defined, use the Smart Highlighter) and fill the center. Then click preview to see what it looks like. Usually comes out a lot better than just using the wand or the polygonal lasso. All in all, I like it! I'd rate it about an 8/10! Good job  (edited by Vyper on 03-19-05 03:38 PM) |
