some things just take time, Master M. It took me a whopping 5 months to learn how to rip, and look where i am now. Mind you, i can't create my own GFX (or design levels for that matter), because i've a rubbish imagination, but you seem to have lots of ideas for hacking. I'm already expecting some nice work from you (after some practice, that is), so good luck. | |||

well kyouji, this situation is much the same as when i released SMB. You raised the same argument too. But although there were no new levels in it, and everything was copied from SMAS, people still liked it because of the GFX. | |||

DAV, ASM isn't a program, it's a programming language. You have to learn it. However, i find it extremely difficult to learn. | |||

Warehouse? Ya mean Workshop? You have to load the map16 page to a blank page between 10 and 1F, and then you have to "change background map16 page" to the one you just loaded it to. | |||

here's another update. it's moving slowly, because lately i'm really concentrating on releasing the final version of SMB. well anyway, here they are: I haven't added the clouds here yet. there weren't any in the original, nor was there a fading effect in the sky, but it does look quite plain. The trams don't move, they fall when stepped on. This one's for you, Keikonium! The sand behind everything has been fixed. Everything you see is on layer 2. That water is the only thing that's animated so far, it's 16x16 with 4 frames. PLEASE IGNORE THE FACT THAT THEY ALL SAY GRASS LAND!!!!! Get these Mario GFX at my site!!!! @master m: don't insert the whole GFX file, only copy the parts you need to your own GFX file. those parts are mentioned on my site. And change the four palettes too. They're included in the ZIP. @smallhacker, way ahead of ya. I took those screenshots before i changed him. He looks better now, but there was a problem with the lack of colours available for him. | |||

F2 saves the page, and F3 loads it. F6 (i think) saves all of the pages and F7 (i think) loads all of the pages. | |||

Harder? Nah, i have to use the fire flower cheat for every hack i download, cause i suck at playing these games. I can't even play my own hacks!! I'd say keep the difficulty the same- no new enemies or stuff. | |||

I overwrote some of the game's original animations near the bottom of AllGFX.bin. And a reply to that PM: of course you can use them. Anyone can use anything from that game. That reminds me: i'm releasing the final version of SMB1 in the next few weeks. | |||

That's because your goomba only needs a 16x16 tile, whereas big mario ducking needs 16x24. The problem is that the top 16x8 tile also appears when small mario ducks. | |||
