For those that concider 18 (or another age, like 21, for that matter) to be what makes one mature, explain why I'm 19 and know I'm a boy, not a man

It's already featured in a comic I made on request of my French teacher ("You can only draw in class if you draw a French comic"). It's about 40 pages long, but is crappy, with crappy French. I sucked at it back then I'll make short online comics with him soon though.

Oh, remembered something else that was painful as hell. That time I got a thorn in the flesh under the nail of my thumb and mom tried to get it out. She first tried to do that with a toothpick, then used some needlish thing with fishhooks. That hurt so bad my stomach turned. Still not as painful as a decent mental blow.

You hear people talk alot 'bout living life to its fullest, but what exactly do they mean? Is it making fun every single second of the day, like those dumb, beached surfers? Is it constantly pushing your limits, seeing how far your body or your mind can stretch? Is it gaining as much understanding and abilities as possible? Is it realising your dreams? Is it helping others out as much as possible? I don't know myself, but would like to hear your opinions on it. Oh, and again, this is serious. No drowning senseful posts in almost-spam and almost-flaming, like what happens alot.

Along with the two other threads, this one's another question that I can't solve on my own What makes a person a good person, what makes a person a great person and what makes a person a legend? Along with this, are these three related to each other and if they are, how?
Once more, no drowning senseful posts in semi-spam and semi-flaming. This thread is serious and should be posted in seriously and sensefully.

Posted on 03-23-04 08:40 PM, in Angel or Devil? Link
Angel and devil are two extremes. Human's the middle of it. Try to strife for that, since extremes are always an annoyance. Take somebody that's so interested in things that he keeps asking everyone and everything what they are doing and why they are doing it. That'd be annoying as hell, but at the same time, somebody who's completely uninterested in anything and says "I don't care" to everything and everyone's just as annoying. Somebody who knows when to show interest and when not isn't annoying though. Same thing goes for angels and devils. The one's extremely good. So good even, that you'd pull your hair out of your head just being near him. The other's extremely bad. So bad even, that if he'd say something, you wouldn't know wether he's lying or he's lying 'bout lying. Being near such a person's unbearable too. The middle of them, the human, has a bit of both though, which makes him pleasant company. He always tends to lean more to one side or the other, but rests fairly in the middle.
All I can say after this, is that you can't be concidered an angel or a devil (unless you're a very rare exception of a human that went all the way), but you can be concidered human and will embody that, not an extreme like angel or devil.

White, please edit your post to explain it more, otherwise it's rather senseless. Same goes for Woplock. Please stay to the topic at hand, as the No Crap states.

Anyways, it seems to come down to realising your dreams and ambitions. Then I have another question. What after you have achieved your dreams and ambitions? Can you still live your life to the fullest then?

Two songs, first one "Who will save the sane" by Type O Negative, the second from the movie Natural Born Killers, the song "Waiting for the Miracle" by Leonard Cohen.

Who will save the sane - Type O Negative
Periodic tableware
Psychotropic science fare

But who will save the sane?
Some beings just can't change
Now crawl on by
A fake tear in your eye
And think isn't he strange

Pseudogasmic chemistry
Necromorphic apathy

But who will save the sane?
Some beings just can't change
Now crawl on by
A fake tear in your eye
And think isn't he strange

Physical laws unapplied Hamper my quest
Unsurreal world of unfailed HIV tests
Der ubermensch warning of pi techno junkies - 3.141592653
Come on boy
Tell me
Tell me

Tentative ambulance date bound for G ward
Bear trap psychiatrist bait chew my paw off
Unmercilessly we will take you away to slumber
But only if you can recite avogadro's number
Come on boy
Tell me
Tell me

But who will save the sane?
Some beings just can't change
Now crawl on by
A fake tear in your eye
And think isn't he strange

Now crawl on by
A fake tear in your eye
And think wasn't he strange

This feels as if it's about what I've been experiencing for years, that, since I'm not really what you'd call a standard human, most people look at me from out of their own little world and think I'm strange, then close their world while watching me from behind their windows, not even giving me a chance to see further than the strangeness.

Waiting for the Miracle - Leonard Cohen
Baby, I've been waiting,
I've been waiting
Night and day
I didn't see the time,
I waited half my life away
There were lots of invitations
And I know you sent me some,
But I was waiting
For the miracle,
For the miracle to come

I know you really loved me
but, you see,
my hands were tied
I know it must have hurt you,
it must have hurt your pride
to have to stand
beneath my window
with your bugle
and your drum,
and me I'm up there waiting
for the miracle,
for the miracle to come

Ah I don't believe you'd like it,
You wouldn't like it here
There ain't no entertainment
and the judgements are severe
The Maestro says it's Mozart
but it sounds like bubble gum
when you're waiting
for the miracle,
for the miracle to come

Waiting for the miracle
There's nothing left to do
I haven't been this happy
since the end of World War II

Nothing left to do
when you know
that you've been taken
Nothing left to do
when you're begging for a crumb
Nothing left to do
when you've got to go on waiting
waiting for the miracle to come

I dreamed about you, baby
It was just the other night
Most of you was naked
Ah but some of you was light
The sands of time were falling
from your fingers and your thumb,
and you were waiting
for the miracle,
for the miracle to come

Ah baby, let's get married,
We've been alone too long
Let's be alone together
Let's see if we're that strong
Yeah let's do something crazy,
Something absolutely wrong
While we're waiting
For the miracle,
for the miracle to come

Nothing left to do ...

When you've fallen
on the highway
and you're lying
in the rain,
and they ask you
how you're doing
of course you'll say
you can't complain --
If you're squeezed
for information,
that's when you've got to
play it dumb:
You just say
you're out there waiting
for the miracle,
for the miracle to come

Ah baby, let's get married,
We've been alone too long...

This song's dark, beastlike mood, along with the missing all your chances because you think you wait for something gets me to look back and see all the missed chances I had.
Another thing that makes this song really meaningful to me is that, when I first found it, I met my first love after not having seen her for four years and around the time I listened to that song, she told me something I didn't know at all, that, those four years ago, I told her right in her face I loved her and I could've gotten her for that (she fell for my honesty), but I didn't notice it, was busy looking for signs. Now, four years later, she has a bf for years and I'm still waiting for somebody.

Well, errr *cough* those two songs're only meaningful to me personally because of above reasons. Dunno if they'd be meaningful to anybody else. Now let my scurry away under a rock before I blush

Then again, tanks don't need to be assassinated, for they aren't alive. They could be blown up, and that's where ninja stealth kicks in. A bomb on a tanks path can be placed without being seen, a ninja can drop on a tank's top, open the hatch and slay those insite, stopping the tank too, could make another tank fire to the first tank while the first tank fires to the other, and tons of other ways.

And Coby, I'm a ninja on the net, therefor, all ninja on the net are cool.

Nope, post deletion's been suggested months ago, but rejected because it's said to mess with all of the board's databases. It'd be one of the best ways (wouldn't say the best way) of keeping spam out though.

Let's see... my threads with "No crap" in them needed the "No crap" because they'd drown in stupid posts like it's usually the case in GC. Having them moved to a non-fitting forum, Officer's Club, entirely killed those threads. If there was a forum like suggested here, all this wouldn't've been necessary. I could've just posted those threads there, without the "No crap", because the forum itself stands for that, and nobody'd keep getting on my back 'bout them. So, count me in as a vote for such a new forum.
