First of all, I had to get rid of like 8 pop-ups when I clicked on that link. Second of all, if you're seeing all of that garbage, then that webhosting doesn't support PHP and/or MySQL. You need to find a webhosting company that supports both of these, and that you have access to phpMyAdmin. Third of all, phpMyAdmin doesn't carry the "files" -- the MySQL database has them.

Right now, I'm trying to read an issue of G-Fantasy -- which is a manga published by Square-Enix. It's entirely written in Japanese -- I can some of it, only because next to the kanji are little hiragana for the readings. Each issue has about 600 to 700 pages of stories.

Cy and YD: Comparing notes are we?

I would like to know who's going to pay for my pain and suffering for losing about 2,500+ posts I had on the old board -- I cried for days when I found out my hard work had been lost!! I wonder who can help me in this situation? Oh, I know!! The ABVA!! I know they can restore my dignity and restore a life which is rightfully mine!! I will gladly contribute to a worthy cause!

Personally, I'd rather have FULL control of what I can add and can't add on my website, and not have to wait for someone to come online when I have an epiphany. But hey, that's just me.

Alright, I guess I'll speak up now. It's pretty bad when the owner can't come to his own board because he doesn't think the board is "enjoyable" anymore. I mean, he's the owner!! Ace has every right to enforce his rules, his policies, and whatever else that he wants to implement. I guess he feels that people have taken his board away from him -- and he's afraid of what will happen if he tries to "take it back."

See, that's the thing. Certain people think they have a right to be on high staff just because they allowed free usage of their webspace. Something told me when I read the choices of what would happen to the board when it got restarted that we were going to be "owned" by Fiftypounds, so to speak. Yes, the board is much faster and the pages load better, but maybe the board would have been better off at overclocked? I don't know. Maybe. But once thing is definitely for sure, there have been more staff changes over the last 2 months then there have been over the entire duration of my stay here at Acmlm's. I'll leave that last statement open for interpretation. I don't usually get into things like this because I'm pretty much a go-with-the-flow kind of person, but I'd hate to see this board go down again.

Heh, Legion for Admin!!

Well, it gives new meaning to the word "free", doesn't it? And yeah, there are quite a few other webhosting companies that are just as good, if not better, than the current one now. If a change were to come, you can bet that a major ripple in the water will definitely shake this board.

MathOnNapkins: Yeah, in a little over 3 years I get to look forward to that 30 milestone. Oy.

But Apophis, look on the bright side -- you still have 10 years before you reach 30. Anyway, Happy Birthday to you, and try to "contain" yourself with all of these. . ."strippers" around.

Yeah, his Japanese seemed to be pretty advanced -- I couldn't really tell that he even had gaijin accent. Too bad he won't be making any more of these -- I was VERY well put together.

Wow, I liked all of those desktops. It was hard to choose only three of them. Anyway. . .

(1) Kiwibonga (Well, who wouldn't like this one? )
(2) Yiffy Kitten (Hot car.)
(3) Gandalf (I liked the Matrix-style Japanese in the background.)

Mostly a combination of the hamburger/fries thing, the fish-and-chips thing, or the pizza thing -- because of the simple fact that I've been going to more places that have had these things a lot lately.

Okay, I'm going to try a game that just might interest a few people here. I'm going to give a serious of statements. Your task is to decide whether the statement is Fact Or Crap. If the answer is Crap, you have to give an explanation as to why. I will do 30 rounds of 5 statements each. Whoever has the most points after those 30 rounds is the winner. Okay, here's Round 1:

ROUND 1

(1) Salzkammergut is an Austrian alpine region.
(2) The superstitions believe it is bad luck to use black-headed pins when fitting a dress.
(3) James Dean won an Oscar after his death.
(4) Barbers in Nebraska are prohibited from eating onions between 7am and 7 pm.
(5) The five performing Marx brothers had 13 marriages between them.

Oh, just a couple more things: Since the answer is a 50/50 chance, you only get one try at these questions. You will also receive a bonus point if you explain yourself correctly after choosing Crap for any of the statements. I will only accept the first correct answer -- so get those answers in quick.

Okay people, here's the next round:

ROUND 2

It took a bit to finally figure out what to do, but I had a 97 within the first few minutes of playing the game. It's fun, but you have to position the mouse in such a way where the tire doesn't shoot wildly from the mouse arrow.

Well, FreeDOS, it's pretty simple to pretty much fail any course if don't "do the work" -- that includes Physical Education.

Anyway, I had the hardest time with Economics during my senior year of high school -- especially with the projects that he would give for each 6-week period (this was how the school year was divided up). Heh, I actually managed to pull a passing grade from out of nowhere during the last 6-week period (the other two I did not -- and the class was only for one semester), and it was just barely enough to pass the class and graduate.

Posted on 06-09-04 03:54 AM, in Test Boards Link
I want to put up a test board on my site (so that I can test things on that instead of using the actual board to test things), but I'm having trouble doing so. I obviously have had no problems putting up the first, but when I try to put up the second board (on another MySQL database), it says I have 31 errors. I think I've done everything right. The first board is under the folder "board", and the test board is under the folder "TestBoard" on the same website and server. This is my config.php for the "TestBoard" folder:

//MySQL setup
$sqlhost="localhost";
$sqluser="*******";
$sqlpass="******";
$dbname="nihong2_forumstest";

//Cookie path
$domain="nihongofreak.com";
$folder="/TestBoard/";

//Board and site info
$boardname="Nihongo Freak Forums";
$siteurl="http://www.nihongofreak.com/TestBoard";
$sitename="Nihongo Freak Forums";

//Dropdown links at the bottom
$affiliatelinks="";
?>

Edit: Can someone close this please? It was something simple that I forgot to do that I didn't realize until now. You have to have at least one user enabled for each MySQL database, and I didn't have that done for the second database I added. You would have thought I would have noticed that from the beginning, but no. . . * goes off and mumbles something in Japanese *
