I think that he was here for only a couple of weeks before the old board went down. Anyway, welcome to the NEW Acmlm's Board. Hopefully, you'll get around just as easily this time.

Well, I guess you didn't know then -- pretty soon McDonald's is going to be selling "bun" burgers. The burgers are so small, that it only covers about half of the bun.

It's places like McD, Burger King and some of the major fast food chains that are slowly dominating over Arby's. However, most of the Arby's that I have seen have been down in the southern half of the US.

I think the answer to that is in this thread, which is in the appropriate forum.

Well, Surverus, Toxic's layout is nothing but black on white -- no colors, so it would load fast. Simplicity is sometimes better than complexity -- that way no one gets mad at you for it being messed up. Nice job, by the way.

But Acmlm -- even if someone only has Paint, a person can change the extension from *.bmp to *.jpeg or *.jpg very easily. It's not that hard.

lol, let rephrase what I just said. I wanted to avoid putting this in, because I thought it was understood, but oh well. If you were to load a particular *.bmp file in Paint and wanted to save it a different way, then you can pick "Save As" from the file menu and change the file format from *.bmp to *.jpg/*.jpeg/*.gif/*.png in the drop-down menu when you type in the file name.

Xeo, there's actually a page called "activity.php", but it comes up a MySQL result resource error. I wonder what it was.

lol, yeah I remember now. But I actually think HyperHacker was talking about activity.php and not online.php. And I did notice that online.php wasn't working -- so that's what happened.

Well, I pay $7.95 a month for 800 MB of space and 40 GB of bandwidth at Lunar Pages. So far I haven't had any problems with them. I'm also paying $14.95 for domain registration per year. That's not bad -- I don't mind paying that much for quality webhosting.

I don't see why not -- I've done that a few times with a couple of layouts I made. But -- you could also use the sample post in your profile to check and see if your layout came out correctly.

Wow, that seems to be the revelation of the millenium -- when you reveal to the world that you're new. It must have taken a lot of courage to say that. Anyway, welcome, and have fun -- that shouldn't be too hard, right?

I remember asking someone about this about 2 months ago, but it was decided against because of previous happenings (and lack of activity) -- so I made my own board.

I pretty much know what goes on around the boards and such and what to do/what not to do. I joined (the first board) soon after the first "incident" back in late October 2003. I consider myself to be a little more than a newbie, but not much more.

Actually, I don't think that's a bad idea -- I think I've seen that on Erk's board. When someone sends you a PM, at the top of the page your viewing, the PM link appears.

See, you have to look at both formats here (both advantages and disadvantages of each):

DVD:
+ (1) High quality video on a disc
+ (2) Special features not on a VHS tape
+ (3) No tape to rewind or fast forward
- (4) Can easily be scratched or get dust on, however. . .
+ (5) Easy to clean off scratches and dust
+ (6) Can be double-sided for wide-screen and full-screen on the same disc
+ (7) Durable, hard to break (but can be done with enough effort )

VHS:
- (1) The necessity of rewinding/fastforwarding to get to a scene or to the beginning of the tape
+ (2) Don't have to worry about "cleaning" a disc
- (3) The tape can get wrapped in the heads in the VCR
- (4) Loses video quality quicker than a DVD

This is all I can think of right now.

(Edit: Yeah 6 DVD advantages against 1 VHS advantage -- no contest here. )

Boomer, I don't think it is "Da Metroid" coming back here -- his demeanor would be little "different", to say the least. From what I have seen from his posts, he does like to reply with one word a lot. So, hopefully that will improve as he continues his stay here.
